Yes, but wouldn't the stories about them change, anyway?

[Isn't that how it works? Arhen looks almost confused at the idea that it might not be the case.]

Even the well-known constellations aren't always identical. Silentir is either a dragon or a man, if you draw a few lines differently-- and of course humans don't claim that any of them represent our gods-- but the stars are the same, either way. I'm sure we have one or two they don't use.

Frankly, I've only ever heard the stories my own people have made up-- but yes, I suppose that's true. Though we're all rather far away from our own stars-- I suppose I could connect random ones and make up something, if you're truly bored.

Bored, no. Curious, that's an entirely different thing. [And he is always, always curious.] Would you? I'd like to know what sort of stories you make up.

[He's all attentiveness now, leaning forward, propped on his folded arms.]

Hmm, all right.

[The condensation on both their glasses is enough that he can draw on the bar. He details out a simple constellation-- two circles parallel to one another, connected by a line. It looks a bit like a basket, in fact.]

Now, I hardly have enough water to draw the rest of it, but there ought to be a figure behind it. It's Sikall, one of our more scientific goddesses. The one who showed Cardassians not only to fish, hunt and grow, but how to do so on a massive agricultural scale.

[Arhen watches with interest, following the small picture he maps out-- he glances back up to Garak when he speaks, though, listening every bit as intently. It doesn't matter whether it's a relevant constellation or not, stories are always fascinating.

They also often feed his curiosity more than they sate it, though.]

Is she the one you favor? Since you chose her, I mean.

I don't know about favor, but I certainly do enjoy her legend. I've always a soft spot for the clever ones.
