[He shrugs] Magic is a strange kind of word- the sort which seems to change its definition with every new people one encounters.

I haven't had many others' magic explained to me, but it's hardly impossible for magic to be different everywhere else, too.

[faithfulwisdom]

Oh, I would not doubt that is true here, but I speak even within my own world. [How to explain this...] Mortals see us listen to the trees and to the streams and they speak of 'elf magic.' But to us, it is simply one part of existing within the world, no more 'magic' than the conversation I now have with you.

Oh...if you ever have the time, I'd like to hear more about it.

It seems that here we are likely to have an excess of time, if anything. What would you know?

How it works. How you make it happen, how much you can do, for starters.

I am not so powerful as some- my talents are chiefly limited to Songs of Power and a touch of illusion. I have also some skill in sanwe-latya- 'thought opening,' or mental communication, but not to the degree of the the truly gifted.

What can the "truly gifted" do?

Much. My younger sister, for instance, has insight into the hearts and minds of others and she has also the gift of foresight- not in occasional glimpses, as I do, but true command over her visions.

[amarant]

That sounds like something far beyond the magic that I know...even your own foresight.

Have you seen any visions about all of this?

[faithfulwisdom]

[He shakes his head] My visions are few and far between- not to be relied upon.

It's still nothing to look down upon, for sure.

They're still...true, though, right?

They have usually proven to be, yes.
