[ This is... Odd, admittedly, but Raven tries her best not to be too awkward about it, given the fact that this person knows Hank and, knowing Hank, is probably Hank's friend. ]

Science-y is definitely a good word for Hank. [ Probably best not to mention the most science-y thing he had done with her had been taking her DNA and using it to accidentally become blue, but... ] I know Cisco, too, if that helps.

[ Because she's a little lost in the sudden rush of enthusiasm. ]

Right, because you're on the Blameless too. I'm on the Tourist but I'm over on the Blameless sometimes. I'm friends with Kate, too. It's kind of wild we haven't run into each other yet.

[ she does take stock of Raven's attitude shift, though ]

Just a bit, but it's fine.

[ Raven can deal with it, and Erik had been telling her she was supposed to go out and meet new people and make new friends. She makes a soft noise, shaking her head. ]

I only spend time in the lab or my room on the ship. Otherwise I'm in the gym, really.

[ Trust issues: the mutant. ]

It's kind of a bad habit. You can imagine what it's like when me and Cisco or Hank get going. Anyway, sorry. I just got excited, because Hank has said such nice things about you.

I've seen Hank and my brother talking, I think I can guess.

[ But, oh. A small smile settles on her lips. ]

He's a gossip.

Some of us just have weaker filters between our brains and our mouths. Though now that you mention it, I like the visual of Hank gossiping and giggling like a schoolgirl.

Mouth filters are definitely familiar. [ At least Raven is relaxing a little, and she hesitates before she grins. ] Don't ever tell him.

[athru]

Superhero. [ She raises an eyebrow. ] I didn't guess that part.

Well, less here. I'm an alien everywhere though.

Different from a mutant, then. [ She knows Hank, so she must know that word. ]

Right, so that's why my powers are different. They're activated by a yellow sun, and I have a bunch of different kinds.

[athru]

That sounds impressive.

[ Raven has known enough mutants that the idea of being jealous of someone else's power just seems silly, so mostly she appears interested. ]

People usually make fun of how long and random the list is.

Which isn't a humblebrag, by the way. Or, it's not supposed to be. I mean, it's kind of silly.

Flight, strength, speed, heat vision, x-ray vision, telescopic vision, freeze breath...

Mostly it means that I have to eat a lot to keep up.

You're a little ridiculous.

[ But Raven says it nicely, not at all vicious. It's meant as a friendly tease more than anything else. ]

I knoooooow. I didn't grow up like this. The planet where I'm from originally had a red sun. I didn't get any of these powers until I got to Earth, when I was 13.

[athru]

So you woke up one day all...

[ Is there even a word for it? ]

That must have been... Interesting.

It's kind of a long story, but yeah.

If puberty wasn't hard enough, I also had an entire new planet and culture to learn while not accidentally killing anyone.

And I just had to deal with an old fart for a brother.

[ It's a little more than that, but... ]

So you've always had your powers? I mean. Assuming you have powers. Actually, I'm not sure that Hank mentioned what they are. He's gossipy, but only about some things. But anyway, we don't have to talk about them.

I've always had them - I do have powers.

[ There's a moment's pause, and then - ]

Do you want to see?

Of course! If it's not too much to ask.

[athru]

[ She's getting better at this, she thinks, and there's a moment of pause before she stands a little straighter and focusses. Her entire body shifts, flecks of blue and scaling appearing as she shifts and transforms, no longer herself but a mirror image of Kara herself. ]

Wow! That's really good. Freaky-good, even. Is it just instinctive? Do you have to think about it? You've always been able to do that?

[athru]

It depends on the person.

[ Now that Kara has spoken Raven has a better read on her, and she can use her voice as well, though it's... Harder. ]

I've always been able to transform. It's how I survived when I was alone.
