[ he starts laughing before her fingers even touch him. wiggling away! ]

[She lets them rest there after a moment and moves in for a kiss instead.]

[ he returns the kiss, still laughing into her lips ]

[Best kind of kiss. Best kind of boyfriend.]

[ best kind of girlfriend. he reaches up to play with her hair, the way he knows she likes. ]

Do we still want to finish dessert, or leave it for tomorrow?

Finish. We'll have brand new desserts for tomorrow. [She smiles and kisses him again.]

[ he could keep kissing her until it'll turn to tomorrow anyway, or at least that's what he feels like. ]

I'll get it.

[ screw sitting at the table. he kisses her again before getting up - yup she's getting a nice view there because he's not bothering with covering anything up after sensing how attracted she is to him - and getting their plates of pie and forks. he hands her one before sitting back down next to her. ]

You're the best. You know that, right? And yes, I was checking out your butt. [She kisses his shoulder before digging back into the pie.

[ he laughs and kisses the top of her head ]

Thank you - I'll be here all week, don't forget to tip your waiter.

[ he accepts all forms of affection!

Well here's your change.

[ he leans in for a kiss, one he can't help but smile into because her lips taste of cherry and this might be the best way ever to have pie. ]

[ it's easy when he's surrounded by the lovable. ]

How about tomorrow, we check out that carnival?

[ they did what he wanted to do today, only fair they do what she wants tomorrow. ]

Yes, please. [She kisses him again happily.] I like this life of dates and big beds and real food.

It's a pretty awesome life.

[ he couldn't agree more. he could get used to this, which is scary. because they're not going to get to keep this, and he can't let it sidetrack him from the ultimate goal: going home. it's so tempting to spend his days lazing around and hanging out with kitty, but he can't let himself neglect his work. if he ends up regretting it - it'll be the most painful kind of regret, he knows. ]

[She feels that creeping in on his side and she snuggles in closer.] I don't want to waste this time together. [She believes in Winn, but she feels like the game is rigged and doesn't have much faith left when it comes to getting out of these places. She only knows they have these moments and they mean a lot to her.]

[ he'll just have to have faith for the both of them. and work while she's asleep. ]

Kara has powers to beat me up now if I let you get all overworked.

Kara knows me long enough to know I'm unstoppable.

[ he's pretty sure that as long as he isn't making himself physically ill - she wouldn't intervene. she looks at him much closer on the fleet than she did at home - but he doesn't think things have changed that much. ]

She wouldn't blame you.

I'm not actually worried about Kara in this scenario.

Don't worry, if I stay up too long, I get called into the principal's office.

[ forever how he's calling jim's little talks. of course, one of the great advantages of sleeping at an inn is that jim isn't going to catch him wandering over to kara's office in the middle of the night - he can just drag his research to the bathroom or outside and no one will ever know. ]

Is there an actual principal in this scenario? [What are you talking about, Winn?]

[winn]

[ he lets out a short uncomfortable laugh. when he told kara about it it was a funny and endearing anecdote. but somehow telling kitty is more...embarrassing. ]

It's what I call it when Jim tells me off.

[ bizarrely, despite his words, what comes through is a wave of deep affection for the man. ]
