I have an important request. I need someone who can make cheese. Do cheese makers have an old timey name like cobblers and haberdashers or are those only for clothes? Anyway, calling all of those.

Cheese doesn't seem to be a thing here from what I can tell, but we're just one ingredient away from some really great pizza. I have no idea what cheese requires other than cows or goats or something. I grew up so close to Wisconsin, but I feel like I learned so little.

I would also accept alternative cheese. I know there were vegan kinds made out of hopes and dreams or something I assume. I can pay you or share the finished pizza or do something in trade if I had skills. I could beat someone up for you maybe. [She's not going to do that. Probably.] We'll work it out.

he returns the kiss, leaning his forehead against hers and stroking the back of her neck with his thumb. ]

[ there are a lot of things he can't promise her - but this one he has complete confidence in. no matter what happens between them, even if things do end up going as bad as they possibly could, a part of him will always love her.

the intensity of his jealousy is in direct correlation with the intensity of his love, at least. he wouldn't be so jealous if he weren't so hopelessly in love with her. ]

I really need to ride a tiny fancy horse with you in a circle tonight. [And another quick kiss. Maybe they can shake some of the heavy off and enjoy themselves with low-to-the-ground rides and games and more treats.]

[ he smiles into the kiss - he loves this about them. things may get heavy and hard and tragic, but they always turn it around. they just feel...good for each other. ]

I think we can swing that. Maybe win Chicago a friend, too.

One for your place and one for my place? [Even though for awhile it gets to be the same place which is a very nice thing.

Tiny nose rub because she can. She feels lighter now after unloading all of that. She can only hope she didn't make Winn too heavy in the process.]

[ he reaches for her hand and gives it a little squeeze. he hoped this would help her, and he's glad he was right. he'll deal with however this makes him feel later. right now, he wants to give her the date she was excited for. ]

Good. [She squeezes it back.] Hey, the merry-go-round is okay, right? not too high? [Because she doesn't want to put him through that again.]

[ ouch, right in the pride. is he that bad? ]

It's fine. Come on, let's go.

[What? They go up and down a little as they move around! She gets up and kisses his cheek before heading back toward the carnival entrance with him.]

Have I told you lately that you're cute?

[ yeah - a little. that's not a distance from the ground that'll kill him to fall, that's a distance he can easily jump and land without even twisting his ankle. that's a distance from the ground his head is about at when he stands up. ]

Mmm...no, don't think you've mentioned it.

What? Such oversight. I should be fired. You're cute.

Apparently in space ponies are how you get fed - they're not to be feared, they're to be worshiped.

You make a very good point I can't argue. And I'm trying to decide if I should be jealous if you were to ride that pony, but that's probably best left unthought.

[ scrunching his nose. ]

[ that's a pony, kitty. it's a talking pony. riding her didn't even occur to him honestly because she's too much like a person, but she is definitely not enough like a person for whatever jealousy is supposed to refer to and basically just...ew is what she's getting from him. ]

[She just holds his arm more securely.] I blame Remy for getting into my head. You should too.

[ he doesn't know the guy, but he knows enough to know to leave that jealousy to someone who's interested in jim. ]

[She looks amused but surprise floods in as those thoughts catch up to her.]

[ he wasn't exactly subtle. he frowns a little trying to think about what he just thought, did he think anything concerning? he was trying very decisively not to think anything concerning - ]

Something about Jim and Remy? [It wasn't concerning exactly. But it's definitely not a thing she knows about and it is throwing off all her expectations.]

[ he shrugs uncomfortably, he doesn't really know anything officially, he just knows the tourist needs thicker walls. ]

Sometimes I hear stuff that are completely none of my business.

[ for all he knows they could be having very weird non sexual workouts that just sound like...it could also be someone else entirely, catching glimpses of him in the hallway just seemed to coincide. intuitive leap. jim never actually talked to him about...too much of anything, really. jim's the one person with whom...winn's the one who does all the talking. huh. that's really weird to him now that he stops to think about it. ]

I don't know what to do with any of this. [And she's tending to lean toward weird workout sounds.]

[ is there anything to do? they're both adults...her reaction is making him worry for jim, and he's about maxed out on anxiety. ]
