[When Sokka turns on the feed he looks a mixture of annoyed and miserable. It's hard to tell, but if you squint, it seems annoyance is winning out. He is SO DONE right now. There is a strange looking bird perched on the back of his captain's chair, which seems disinterested in everything. He also appears to be eating some weird goop out of a bowl? Maybe it's ice cream?

(Spoilers: it's not ice cream)]

So for those of you keeping track, my world still seems the favourite for Most People Leaving In The Shortest Time Possible award. Both Zuko and Toph have gone. I even checked to see if Zuko was off emo-ing somewhere, but nope, he's gone.

[He waves his spoon at the screen and some of the greeny-goop drops from it with a wet splot. Sokka doesn't care, though. He's going into Rant Mode.]

As you can see, though, I'm still here! YEP. I don't go anywhere. I'm stuck here, forever. Nooooo going home for me. Nope. But hey, there's a girl from the future who's the reincarnation of my someday-dead friend, so wooooooooooo, I'm not completely alone. That's swell. Isn't that swell?

[That might be a bitter and slightly crazy laugh as he slouches back into his captain's chair, swinging it back and forth a little. Hawky screeches and flaps his wings a little, trying to regain some balance. Sokka reaches up to absently pat his little hawk head.]

Now all I need is Azula coming back and it'll be the best month ever.

[She doesn't know the face on the screen, but the story is a somewhat familiar one. She's never had anyone who was actually from home with her until she came to the fleet. In the prison there was a lot of alone and then getting close to people just to lose them again and the occasional future reincarnation thing. Okay, there was never a future reincarnation thing, but there were a few alternate reality versions of people she was close to. Like her mentor who barely even recognized her.]

At least you have your hawk? [Do people just have hawks here now? Is that a thing? Also, feeling for the situation is apparently not the same as knowing what to say in comfort.]

[Alternate realities so count as future reincarnation things. Absolutely. He glances up at Hawky, who just stares back at him. ]

Yeah, I guess. The weird magic hand holding tree gave him to me.

I mean, sure, he kind of abandoned me back home, but you know what? I'll take my comfort where I can get it.

Pictures don't really exist in my world, yet. But a painting would have been cool.

[Preferably not one he painted, the Blue Fish suffer his art enough. ]

Yeah, he's a messenger hawk. I sent him off with a message and he never came back. It was super rude.

[The hawk doesn't seem to care, but at the mention of his crew, Sokka perks up.]

Oh, yeah, my crew are awesome! The best.

Don't exist yet... [Okay, that's probably true for Tyrion and everyone from his world too, isn't it?] Right.

At least you have the network now. Maybe putting him out of business will keep him around.

That's something. [Until they all disappear. Don't say that, Kitty.] What ship are you on?

[Allen is sitting in the bridge, using the defunct communication station to get some more paperwork done. On one hand, Allen does sincerely feel bad that Zuko and Toph left. They were Allen's friends too, and he knows how hard it is to have people from your world leaving. Sokka is probably worried about them a lot, underneath the snark. On the other hand...this guy talking about how he's alone when he's right fricking there is kinda aggravating!]

[So, in a very dry tone]

Oh yes. I can't imagine what it's like not getting to go home and not having people from my world around. It must be a nightmare.

[Sokka does at least look a little guilty as he glances over at Allen, wincing and raising his hands in surrender. ]

Sorry. I know, I know.

[He looks back at his bowl of mush, prodding it with the spoon, letting out a long, slow exhale. ]

Is this what it was like in that Paradisa place? Just people showing up and leaving and you just being stuck there?

[Allen exhales and lets it go. He can live with an apology. It's pretty normal for Sokka to talk without thinking anyway]

It's a little like it. [Less death and less amnesia game going on] People seem more likely to come back with memories, though. That was very rare there.

[His brain to mouth filter is exceptionally defective. ]

Hm, that's true. Small mercies, I guess. Not that I want them to be stuck here...not really. It sucks here and I know they're happier back home.

[As soon as Riona sees the post, she scoops up Kiter and heads back to the ship.

Once they arrive, she sets him down and tells him to find Sokka. Kiter's itty bitty nose goes to work, sniffing around the ship in trying to find him. Whether because of his nose or sheer dumb luck, they do eventually stumble upon the guy. The pupper runs over to Sokka, barking happily in greeting.

Riona peers into the room, offering a soft smile.]

We thought you could use some company.

[Sokka may be of the belief that most animals exist to be eaten, but there are some exceptions, and dogs will always fall there. Okay, so he's used to huge, hulking polar bear dogs, but mabaris are starting to win him over.

He can't help but smile like a doof, leaning down to pet the adorable pupper.]

Okay I need to make some kind of law, because you're getting too adorable. None of us will ever get any work done.

[He smiles up at Riona. ]

[Kiter's tongue rolls out happily as he receives Sokka's scratches.]

I'm sorry. Losing one friend is hard, but two at the same time?

[Cutest puppy-wuppy. His smile fades a touch, and he shrugs. ]

It just- sucks I guess? I mean, I already lost my sister. And Toph and Zuko? They're family, too. It's just...a lot at once.

Sokka...

[She's not sure what to do or say about any of this. Katara was gone and now Zuko and Toph? Before she'd even gotten to see them. It's clear Sokka's unhappy too. She sort of wishes she could trade places with one of them, so that he wouldn't be alone. Then again she is pretty alone too. None of her friends are here either. Except him.]

Is there anything I can do? I mean- I'm here if you need anything. I'm sorry.

[Ugh way to put your foot in it, Korra. What he probably wants is what she can't do.]

[He kind of feels like an ass for ranting about her. It's not HER fault she's from the future. And she's the Avatar. These are things she can't help, and he really can't be bitter about that. Besides, she IS alone, with only a guy she's known, at best, as an old man. ]

[Really, she understands. In his position she'd probably feel the same. Still, she's glad for the change of subject. Best they not dwell on things they can't really control.]

I'm doing fine! A little sad I didn't get to see Lord Zuko or Toph, but I've been settling in fine. Still trying to learn how to pilot. It's one thing to have the augment teach you but then to be good at it is another thing.

[She's just glad nothing has been damaged yet. 8|]

Airships aren't really my thing, but my - [Crush? Girlfriend? What to call her at this point in time. There's been no spirit world adventures into the sunset yet.] friend, Asami builds them so she's taught me a little here and there and the augment has filled in the rest.

Tell me about it. I mean, I've got a good head for mechanical things, but being an engineer on one of these was something else. It's not like we've got spaceships back home to gets used to beforehand.

So the airships are still a thing in the future? That's great to hear. Hopefully they're used less on the war side of things for you. But yeah, I can see the similarities between piloting one of those and the ships we have here.

...Not that I ever pilot the Blue Fish. That was Toph's job.

They can be. Well, as much as they can when you're floating in space. But hey, my crew is pretty awesome, so I really can't complain about them.

[Zuko and Toph at the same time? It's a while before Al can bring himself to open the communication channel, but he still looks a bit devastated.]

[At least Sokka's calmed down a little. But he's still pretty miserable. ]

Yeah. I guess I just... kinda took for granted that Zuko would be here for a while.

Me too. But...it's probably better for him back home. I mean, he has a whole nation to run now, and it's not exactly been easy for him .

[Plus he has to try out the mess that his family life currently is. Sokka really doesn't envy Zuko right now. ]
