[Mikleo stands by, arms crossed, as the man notices her, hastily apologizes, and asks her what she wants. That's probably not the reaction she was hoping for. Interesting, though- she must have really high resonance if she can't tell that he's different from everyone else here.]

[she's trying to grab Mikleo's hand to pull him forward.

He doesn't mind going along with it, stepping in to stand wherever she guides him. The shopkeeper, however, just looks around in confusion, asking which man she's talking about. He's being far more polite than most of the vendors Mikleo's met before, which is a credit to this already overly-friendly world, but the poor man is definitely hopeless when it comes to resonance.]

[Poor kid. He should probably step in.

The shopkeeper looks at the seemingly empty space beside her, then smiles indulgently, asking if her imaginary friend wants anything. That's probably as close as they'll get to acknowledgement with him, and Mikleo will take it.

He crouches down, turning her hand in his and placing a pair of acorns on her palm.]

Would you mind asking him for some fruit for me? Whichever kind you think looks the tastiest.

[she comes away with some kind of alien strawberries, which she's holding out.

[He gives her shoulder a gentle nudge and points to a spot a few display stands down, where there's pointedly less people. He doesn't take the strawberries.]

Could you carry that for just a moment? Walk with me. ...He can't see me because I'm a seraph. Very few people can.

Yes, sir.

[She starts walking with him, completely unbothered by the idea of going somewhere with a stranger.]

... What's a 'seraph'?

[It's sort of refreshing to have someone ask rather than immediately going ANGEL or something like that. He leads her to an empty booth and offers out a hand. Thanks for the carry, kiddo.]

A seraph is... like an elemental spirit. You need something called "resonance" to see a seraph, so you must have it.

You're... a spirit? Um, is 'resonance' like a status?

[She's going to put the berries in his hand, and then put her hands over his, like she's testing to see if he's real.]

Status... no, more like a state of being. The especially spiritual or open-minded have more resonance, though it's easy for children than adults, I think.

[He lets her poke at him as she likes; he figures it's pretty weird. Sorey did that too sometimes, when they were really tiny and his resonance was still developing, though his memories of those times are pretty vague.]

Would you like some strawberries? Or a cold treat? I need to thank you for buying them for me.

He straightens up and starts walking again, though- he can't leave his stand for too long, or his supplies will all melt.]

Are you lost, by any chance? It's strange for a little girl to be in a market alone.

Oh... I think I am. This isn't the castle anymore, so I don't know where my team is.

[She follows him, though! But she's only taking tiny bites out of the strawberry rather than just eating the whole thing.]

Your team, huh. What do they look like? Could be that someone's seen them.

Oh, um... Big sis Sparrow is really pretty, she's about your age, and she has long, dark hair, and she has these golden decorations in her hair. Big sis Bluebird has short hair and dark skin and a lot of scars and tattoos, but she's really strong! And she's cheerful and fun to talk to. They both wear the same kind of purple as me, too.

I see. I can keep an eye out for them- there are plenty of people who pass through the market, after all. Do you know anyone else who might be able to keep an eye on you until they're found?

... Um... I think my parents... aren't here. Probably. So, not really...
