[ A. Arrival / The Piers ]

[Sora was slowly going insane from being in the ships for so long. He was never good at being cooped up for so long. So when he heard that they were arriving on a new planet? Of course he got worked up with excitement. He was practically bouncing off the Golden's walls, and when they finally landed? He was the first to jump out, not at all phased by having to land in the water.]

[Which when he sees the pier system, which were much much bigger than anything back home? He's thoroughly impressed]

[Which is what you hear before Sora starts darting of to check things out, not really thinking about his surroundings. It's better to go explore!]

[ B. The Forest ]

[Unsurprisingly, the giant forest catches Sora's interest as well. He's seen forests before, but none of them had this trees this high. And of course, trees being this tall makes you want to do one thing- climb them! So, you might find Sora about to climb or climbing up a particular tall tree. He's not doing too badly, surprisingly! ]

[ C. The Beach ]

[Eventually, Sora calms down from his excitement of being in a new world enough to realize that well...he's pretty broke. And since he's really not strong enough to do any hunting, he decides to try to make some money doing fishing. So you'll find him on one of the beaches, doing his best to fish with a makeshift net or rod.]

[Other times, especially around sunsets, you might find him just sitting on the beach, not doing anything but staring out at the horizon with a melancholy expression.]

1. arrival

[ last time they came up to a planet, winn was psyched. he couldn't wait to have solid ground beneath his feet again, and it didn't matter that what they got was basically a polluted hellhole. this time, though, he's had a lot on his mind, and he hasn't really been feeling up to getting properly excited.

so of course this one's basically a paradise. whistling at the gorgeous sight that unfolds before his eyes, he can't help but smile at it. ]

Now that's what I'm talking about! [ this place is bound to have some decent food, and all that greenery - has to be powered by some great sunshine. ]

2. shops

[ since their credits seem meaningless on this planet, winn hurries to get a job with a local seamstress. he'll also be selling some of his t-shirts, because he is determined to stop at nothing to take kitty to that inn.

when he's not working, you can find him browsing the shops, always with food in his hands. he's really missed real food. ]

3. beach

[ all work and no play will probably lead to another lecture from kirk, and besides it would be a total waste of a great planet. so when he gets the chance, winn heads out to the beach - sometimes with friends, and sometimes just on his own, to relax and swim. he's been feeling very homesick of late, and the beach helps with that. ]

4. closed to kitty: inn

[ after having saved up enough for a first night, winn goes to pick kitty up with a mischievous grin on his face. his expression isn't the only suspicious sign, though, his wardrobe is unusually respectable too. instead of the usual simple buttoned-downs or t-shirts covered with a hoodie, he arrives in a classy light blue buttoned down, a navy blue tie, and simple black pants. he would have gone for a jacket too, but he didn't have time to make it - all his free time was spent on making a pretty but simple blue dress he holds out to her. ]

Kitty - will you go on a date with me?

5. closed to Cisco

[ bottle of water: check. snacks: check. full charge on the phone for pictures: check. winn runs up to his friend with an excited smile, ready for their day of forest exploration! his smile widens when he sees the hat cisco has on. ]

[Before she can even compliment and tease that he cleans up nice he's already overwhelming her. It doesn't take much. Just being thoughtful and unexpected. At this point she really should be expecting that from him though. Her eyes fall to the dress and then back up to him.]

I'd love to. [She steps forward, taking the dress in hand and leaning in to kiss him.] Planet? I hope. [She has been a little stir crazy. She spent most of their time on the moon on the ships instead and the last couple of weeks the best she's done to get away is to fly out to an space station outpost. Good for snacks. Not great for a real change of pace.]

Maglor | OTA

[ A: Arrival ]

[ He steps out and ... stops. His head tips back and he breathes in (he looks, abruptly, more solid, not that he'd been not-solid, before - but... it is as something of being surrounded by forest makes him seem more real) and there is a quiet smile on his face. Noldor he may be, but he has needed this, to hear the world around him Sing. And more importantly, he can hear the sea.

He might need prodding to get out of the way. ]

[ B: Forest ]

[ He wanders through the green, sometimes alone, sometimes with his family. Sometimes he is singing softly, other times you might find him seated by a stream, perhaps with company.

Anyone who approaches will be greeted with a quiet smile and a small bow. ]

[ C: Beach ]

[ The Sea, the Sea! Forever it lives in the hearts of the Elves, and for Maglor, who is tied to it twice over, it's call is irresistible. Down here he barely speaks, although he often sings - if you can distinguish his voice from the waves. It will be hard to draw him away. ]

[ D: Taverns/Markets ]

[ He earns good money here, and seems to enjoy himself - playing for his supper - and that of anyone else's. The songs he plays here are earthy, solid, bright and sometimes ribald. He knows how to work a crowd, and is never short an audience. ]

Come and sit, come and sit - would you like a drink? I have a tab, it seems.

[ He can also be found wandering the stores, looking at local produce. He's especially interested in the instruments, but also in any foodstuffs that he might take back to the ship ]

[Belthazar comes upon Maglor without much grace at all. He's got a big basket stuffed full of herbs he's found, and his head keeps turning this way and that, and there is so much in his ears that he has a hard time filtering out what he's hearing from what he is feeling, and there is the issue of mana, and--

--well, it culminates in Belthazar stopping maybe two feet short of running into Maglor by the streamside, then squeaking in surprise and promptly falling onto his face. He is a tangled mess of black robes and he is not very sneaky at all for an elf. He is worst elf ever, probably.]

Kara Danvers | OTA

[ A: Closed to Winn and Kitty, testing 1 2 3 ]

[ The new planet seems promising— so much greenery means the sun here is good, but Kara's also been away for a little while, and it takes some time for her to build her power stores back again. To give her a head start, Winn and Kitty have decided to fiddle around with their invention to help restore her powers. Things seem to be going well. ]

[ B: It's a Bird! It's a Plane!! No, It's Supergirl! ]

[ Forest, beach, markets... wherever you are, Kara is zipping by at some speed. At points, she's going faster and at other points she's going slower, reveling in her regained ability and outright honesty. She's decided not to hide (what's the point?) and you don't need to be holding her hand to feel the warmth and joy radiating off of her. This is one of the best days on the fleet she's had! ]

[ C: Earthbound exploration ]

[ With the complete novelty of flying about taken care of, Kara decides to get a pedestrian's view of their new outpost. She's a big fan of the beach, taking off her shoes and walking along the water line, but she also doesn't hesitate to wander around in the forest. She just seems so happy ]

[A. Forest]

[Look, Beverly is not about these swinging tree bridges and dwellings high up in the canopy. She'll stay firmly put on the forest floor, thank you very much. Still, there's a lot to see here and she spends a lot of time poking around the markets and shops, sampling various local foods and seeing what sorts of seeds and books and art she might be able to add to her collections. The people are simply lovely to talk to, too, and she easily adapts to their shows of physical affection, completely unbothered by the exchange of emotions between her and the people she's conversing with.

Holding a basket full of pastries and other goodies, she exchanges a quick hug with this particular shopkeeper before taking a seat on a nearby stump to take her lunch.]


[B. Hot Springs]

[It's been an emotionally difficult couple of weeks, so she's going to take a page of Deanna's book and treat herself - and any friends who wish to join her - to a few days at the hot springs, splurging on one of the fancier resorts. Friends and new acquaintances alike can find her relaxing in the hot springs, hiking around the volcano and exploring the geothermal pools, or simply sitting out on the deck of her room reading. Despite being somewhat subdued, she'll still no doubt wave you over with a small smile and a hello.]

[Allen is mostly just happy to be off the ship and onto a planet that isn't a deathtrap. He spent much of the morning exploring the town they landed at. The forest floor, the tree bridges- heights weren't anything he was worried about. But when it comes to lunchtime, he'll go find Beverly. As usual, Timcanpy trails after him]

ARRIVAL / BEACHES;

[ There's no real way for Raven to avoid how much she's not entirely comfortable with the sandy beaches and the beauty of them, stretching out before her and making her shift awkwardly. When she steps off and away from her ship she makes a beeline to look at them, quickly enough, before she decides that, perhaps, a beach time afternoon isn't on the cards for her, not right now. She's already a little sore about more than her fair share of things, and she has to push herself to step away and walk forward; thoughts of Cuba aren't going to do her any good right now.

A few hours later, though, and she's back, slipping down to sit properly and cross her arms, gazing out at the water. She's back here mostly because she can remember an afternoon conversation with Hank where had idly thought about a beach planet and how they could spend some time together - and now, of course, she has to pick the perfect spot.

It would help if she knew what a good date spot looked like. ]

HOT SPRINGS

[ And, of course, how is she able to resist the promise of a hot springs, something warm and a little self-indulgent? The showers on the Blameless aren't exactly the most exciting and while she imagines she doesn't technically need to shower at all, since she could just reshape herself to a cleaner version, it's an indulgence she thinks she might let herself have.

Standing by one of the springs, Raven transforms from blonde and dressed up to blue (and, technically, naked) before she slips into the spring and sinks down low enough for her jaw to be covered by the warm water.

Perfect. ]

SHOPS / INN

[ Last time she was on a new planet Raven hadn't had much time for shopping, mostly because she was brand new and because the things hadn't really been all that interesting. Now, though, she feels as though she has a little more reason to look around, to peer in and actually see what's going on and what people are selling, and she steps in and out of shops and inns, peeking into things and avoiding most contact - which seems to be something the locals respect.

It doesn't take her long to realise that people aren't fond of the credits she's earned and, instead, she does some work around in some of the inns - it's the same thing that she's done before, and is doing on the fleet, so there's no shame in it. When she has a little money in her pocket she's off and getting herself some little things, perusing the shops with her hair curling around her shoulders. ]

CLOSED TO HANK

[ It doesn't take them too long to set up their own little base on the new planet, and Raven is quick to make it really theirs. The money she earned - which is just acorns, but she's not going to argue - has gone straight on knitted blankets and some casual shirts for herself, and she's standing by the door, considering, before she turns back around and steps over, making her way to where Hank is doing something (reading a book, or reading something, she thinks, it's entirely possible it might be his own notes on this planet) and standing in front of him, expression soft and fond. ]

[he's a scientist, of course it's notes on the planet. While most people might go out and enjoy what the planet has to offer, this guy? This guy takes notes. Most of what was around wasn't something he was particular interested in - or at least, he wasn't opposed to it if he were to be dragged out to participate - but he'd gotten into the habit on the toxic moon to keep notes on almost everything, and well - he did it in Kyriakos, too, so it only made sense for him to continue that tradition.

And it's a good thing too, that he's hidden behind a notebook so she can't see how red his ears turn almost immediately. Of course he remembers it.

. . . but he's in a good mood so she gets the bratty answer]

No, I can't say I do. [he says with an even tone, but peeking over the top of the notebook, it's clear that he's joking, what with how amused he looks]

A: On the beach

[This is the shore leave that Poe has needed for months, way better than the previous moon, and he's more than ready for it. He's spending a lot of time swimming and learning to surf if it's an option, or just laying around in the sand and drinking the fruitiest, most alcoholic thing he can find while reading a book or just watching the sights. He's happy to have company, particularly of the cute and male variety.]

B: You can take the boy out of the ranch, but...

[This is also a chance to really feel at home! He grew up on a ranch on Yavin 4, which has a lot of forest, and a pretty close climate tot his planet. He's excited to hike around and see what's there, and the fluff slugs are definitely favorites. Can he find an orange one, maybe? It's great to be around animals again.

...which can be a bad thing, actually, when you get too deep into the forest and the animals might want to eat you. Good thing he's been staying in shape and can run fast.]

C: Flyover

[Of course he wants to fly everywhere. He's a pilot.So even when he's on the beach, there's a shuttle nearby and he's always ready to hop in and go for a joy ride. Atmospheric flying is a fun challenge, even if the shuttles aren't nearly fast enough.]

[Finn had easily landed a part-time job as a sales associate in one of the local shops thanks to his friendly demeanor, so he's heading back to the ship dressed up like a local one afternoon when he spots his friend on the beach, sipping something from a local fruit. He waves and cuts across the sand.]

A: No, I am not holding your hand

[Loki's already standoffish, but this is a particular kind of hell for him, and a really annoying one. He spends a lot of time avoiding the casual contact from the planet's population, which sometimes means just huddling in a corner and glaring at anyone who is friendly in his general direction. And despite the heat, he's head to toe in his leathers in the hopes that it will also get people to leave him alone. Are you going to save Loki from an unwanted hug or just laugh at him?]

B: Slug shopping

[Despite himself, he likes the fluff slugs. And he's got an idea: several of those can basically take his place as counselor for the ship, you know, on the rare occasions that he feels like even attempting his job. So he'll be shopping around for fluff slugs and a nice terrarium for them. Don't judge him.]

C: Into the forest, on the hunt

[The forest is far more interesting than the ocean, and it's a much nicer one than the previous moon. It leaves him feeling energized rather than sad; he feels the ambient energies. He spends a lot of time ghosting around the forest; if you're sharp-eyed, you might see him. And that will sometimes go over to hunting, not that he's particularly interested in meat, but the hunt is fun. He might drop off an animal or two to the people he knows like meat more than himself, since he doesn't see the point in wasting it once he's hunted it down for fun.

And if you get in over your head in the forest? He might help, if it suits him. Or he might think it's more fun to watch you get mauled. You never know.]

D: Hot Springs

[The man likes warmth, which is a bit counterintuitive, but he never actually feels warm enough. The hot springs? Finally he almost feels warm in his bones. And he has absolutely no body shame, though he's wearing a bit of an illusion to preserve the image of his pristine skin. But if you ever wanted to see Loki naked and have an awkward conversation with someone who does not even care? This is the opportunity. Join him in a pool where he's reading. He won't even mind, if you're quiet.]

E: The tree

[He finds the tree early, because magic is so fundamental to his blood. And he spends a long time new it, simply contemplating, thinking, sensing. And it calls to something in him he'd much rather ignore, because it's part of his self he's done his best to cut away entirely. It's the most vulnerable he's felt in a long time, and he can't let it go.]

A-ish

[Ahsoka's been avoiding running into Loki as long as she could once she returned to her natural age. But since they've landed planet-side, she knows they're going to run into each other sooner or later. So rather than wait until she bumps into him awkwardly, she intentionally goes in search of him. He isn't hard to find-- his presence in the Force is distinctive.

This Ahsoka is noticeably taller by several inches than the one Loki hung out with only two weeks ago, her horns larger, and her voice slightly more mature as well. She takes a deep breath. There's nothing for it-- if she doesn't bite the bullet and do this now, it'll be worse later on. She signposts her approach as she says--]

[Sorry, Windrose, Misty has abandoned you, electing instead to spend all her time planetside becoming a bona fide Disney princess.

Seriously.

Misty's everywhere, happily singing and dancing wherever she goes. In the forest she can be found playing with various fluffy woodland creatures or taking care of this bird's broken wing or that deer's limp. In the marketplace, she's trying on sorts of lovely long skirts and dresses, accepting the local's hugs with a great cheerfulness. And on the beach, she's frolicking in the waves, playfully splashing anyone who might come near.

In short, Misty loves this planet!]

[The planet was not entirely unpleasant at least. Anything was better than a cold frozen hunk of ice though, the change was a bit welcome.

There is nowhere in particular he has to be so he has the time to explore though he's wary at all times, aware of his surroundings. There is a fluff slug or two squished under his heel of his boot with a look of displeasure as well while he made his way along.

Be careful if you grab his hand, there are a lot of emotions and memories always at the forefront of his mind and they may not be at all pleasant..]

ii. hot springs

[He had spent the last few years consumed by the Starkiller project, countless sleepless nights as the base slowly came together. It was all gone now, it was peaceful and while he still felt the need to do something, it wasn't going to happen on this planet right now.

It had been a long time since he had a peaceful moment to himself.

There were a few scheduled moments of personal time here and there but other than that he always had something to keep doing or dealing with Kylo Ren's messes. Here it was quiet though and given the springs looked deserted, he assumed it was safe to sink into the hot water at least for a few moments.

And then those few moments turned into a few more as he closed his eyes and sank down a little bit more into the water.]

A. Retail Therapy


[Time to stock up. With no cook on board anymore, the meals have gotten a bit lackluster. The lure of fresh food and meals served to her entice Riona out of her holed up misery and out onto the planet. Her appearance is half-assed at best, but at least she's out and about.

The world reminds her of home. Well, more than the last two stops did, anyway. The cottages and lack of technology are familiar. The merchants hollering out their wares, the scent of burning candles, the sad lack of running water... it screams so much of Thedas. Despite her state of mind, she finds herself relaxing more as she wanders the streets, going from stall to stall. She'll pick up some foodstuffs, but damn if she isn't also looking at some clothes and baubles.

So one will find her, either with a basket of food or perhaps with some dresses and other clothes slung over her arm. However, despite the very friendly and open nature of the culture, she'll likely have to be approached to strike up a conversation. The young queen has been far more withdrawn and quiet as of late, and it only seems to worsen.]



B. Beach Bum

[Ocean.

It's one of the first places she visits. The rocky shores are so similar to the ones found north of Highever. Though the landscape and world are totally different, if she closes her eyes and pretends, she'll be back home.

Maker, but she feels so tired. And she knows it shows.

Her toes dig into the sand as she steps up towards the water line. The waves lap at her feet. The water is surprisingly warm; she's used to the more bitter temperatures of the Waking Sea. Still, it feels the same and smells the same. Arms wrapped around her, she stands there silently, letting the water soak her feet and let the noise of the surf drown out everything.]



C. A Hesitant Archer

[Riona mentally admits her shame to how long it's been since she'd held a bow and arrow.

But it's hard to hunt game any other way. Her mother's lessons fight being brought back into memory; it's been years, after all, and she always had more skill with a sword. So, she swallows her pride and does a bit of practicing out in the forest. After a day or two of that, she goes out and hunts in return for payment.

Perhaps one will discover her practicing, her shots growing more sure with each passing hour as it finally comes back to her. Or maybe even out in the wilderness, hunting elusive game. Just watch out for whizzing arrows.]


D. Wanderlust

[The road calls to her still. The time spent trapped on a ship has brought it back in full force, so Riona sets out and about, exploring the forest and that volcano. She hopes it'll help with her mood. And great things can be gained when one explores with no intention in mind. Feel free to join her, though again, don't be surprised if she's less chatty than usual.]

But watching Riona, he's taken right back to the day Robb sat him atop his new saddle, and gave him back his freedom.]

[This planet is everything that the moon wasn't and after months of barely leaving the fleet ships she is so ready to be on solid ground in the open air eating real food. Of course that means money...]

[One of the jobs she picks up is as a bartender at a tavern. It's pretty easy stuff when just about everyone orders mead. She likes having the bar between her and the patrons since they're always going in for hugs or to hold her hand. If you're lucky you might just see one go falling through her when she is doing table service. The instinct to go intangible when strangers touch her is strong. It's not great for tips though. But she does dress the part some nights.]

[Kitty walks between the game booths and food peddlers. Her eyes are fall on the rides. It was hard to miss the ferris wheel from a distance and she might just have to check out that carousel. She idly wonders if she could steal one of the painted wooden horses on it for Wrath.]

[Kitty enjoys her power and the freedom it grants her even if she has spent the last year and change in prison-like circumstances. She's going to explore and enjoy the forest. She'll air walk up to the high branches of the trees and look down at the world below. Maybe drop some non-money acorns at anyone passing by. She'll explore deeper. After all, Tyrion did say something about wanting to eat venison, right? Maybe she can find herself a deer. Then again, she might just find herself a dinosaur. Do deer roar?]

[He didn't expect to find her here, but it's more of a pleasant surprise than anything. Anders sits at the bar wearing something for more 'local' than he'd had before. A side-effect of working, he'd actually afforded himself a modest wardrobe. He enjoyed having options.

What he enjoyed more was a friendly face that didn't have the strings attached certain other friendly faces were beginning to have. Kitty was still just Kitty and he was endlessly thankful for that.]

[When the communication came in that they were landing on a new planet, Mikleo had been idly curious but not optimistic. Last time had been a complete disaster, and the station before had been interesting but not great, so why would this be any be--

Any semblance of calm was pretty much out of the picture after that. Mikleo spends the entire landing process glued to the windows of the ship, waiting impatiently, and as soon as they're on the surface he takes off at a run for the shore. It's a good thing that most people can't see him, because he looks nothing like his usual calm and composed self. Does he care? Nope. He's kicked off his shoes, he's running for the ocean.

He's running into the ocean.

He is not stopping. He's underwater.

....okay he could be there for a while. Imagine a little duckling splashing around in a pond like it belongs there. That's Mikleo right now.

Eventually he will come back out again, soaked, refreshed, and ridiculously happy. There is sand in his hair, fish nibbling at his toes. HE CONTINUES TO NOT CARE AT ALL. The ocean is vibrant, alive, and it feels like coming home. He could cry. He actually might. Remains to be seen.

[Hey, the water is great. It's the best. It's full of cool and/or scary things like crabs and jellyfish and probably water dinosaurs or something. Still not caring.

You know what else is great? Water artes. And Mikleo is trying to develop a few, so he'll be swinging his staff around and making big splashes out of nowhere. At some point it clicks that hey, he could do two of his favourite things at once. Explore the ocean! Practice artes! Bonus: befriend a dolphin!

More specifically, he's calling up some waves and going surfing. Or at least, he's going to try. He might fall head over heels a few (hundred) times, but he will not be deterred, and eventually he will create that giant wave and ride it, dammit. And it'll be awesome.

[Okay, even Mikleo can't spend the entire time at the beach, though he's probably going to try. When he ventures away from the shore to take a look at what else the area has to offer, he discovers something interesting: when the natives - or anyone, really - brush past him, some of them seem to notice, even without resonance. Some jump, asking who it was. Some reach towards him as if they know someone or something is there. Some even call his name, confused, as if the thought had suddenly come to mind without prompting.

That's... weird. It's almost like they can- oh. Ohhh, this place even transfers the thoughts of seraphim!?

So yeah, he may or may not be poking at the occasional passerby to see what happens. Who's up for holding hands with the invisible fella? (This definitely won't come back to bite him at any point.)]

After that, it's a match made in heaven. It's so green and fresh and there's SO MUCH PHYSICAL AFFECTION~! She'll sleep on the ship and spend the morning keeping the engine and the waterproofing up to snuff, but then she'll be out exploring as much of the planet as she can! Whether it's the piers and their carnivals, the towns and their markets and bakeries and cafes, Fluff World (please somebody save her from getting one or ten as a pet), even taking a job for a day or two at one of the buildings to buy some... wood and soil? 1. BEACH.

[Shinji has been staring at the ocean--the blue, healthy, absolutely living ocean--like he can't believe what he's seeing. He isn't dressed appropriately for a beach, but he did remove his shoes and roll up his pant legs, just to feel the sand against his heels. He's debating whether or not to go into the water, but he feels a bit mistrustful of it, really. The smell of an organic ocean is overpowering in the extreme. It's nothing like the aseptic, motionless blood from back home...

(a) Sometimes, he tries to venture closer to the water, only to quail and flee back up the beach when the waves gets too close to his feet. And he screams bloody murder the one time a random piece of wet seaweed gets stuck to his ankle. Yikes.

(b) In between tempting the tide, he finds other ways to preoccupy himself, such as building a sand castle. His sandcastle isn't too impressive, though, compared to some of the others he's working near to. It's just a basic pyramid shape. He doesn't let that discourage him from finishing.] I wonder what he'd say if he could see me now, [he says, seemingly to himself, while smoothing down more sand.]


2. MARKETPLACE.

[Because Shinji has no plans to return to the Heron anytime soon, he wants to rent a cozy inn room on the planet. Of course, renting an inn room requires money, and these people refuse to take his credits for some reason. He goes around inquiring at various stores, looking for odd jobs, before he finally finds...]

[He's wearing an oversized, open face mascot costume based on one of those adorable fluff slugs. It's a technicolor masterpiece, with especially long and swishy antennae on top. In his hands, he's holding a platter of food from a local restaurant; it's covered in various bite-sized snacks of indeterminate quality and origin. They kind of resemble poached eggs. He's offering them to as many people as possible.

The restaurant's jingle could use some work, but he's only following orders:]

[After some research and deliberation, Shinji has decided to buy an aquatic fluff slug to keep his pet fish company. The only remaining hurdle is figuring out which color of slug to get!]

I guess that yellow one is okay, [he says, peering into the tank,] but I really like the sparkly green one... and there's that orange one with the stripes, wow. The translucent one is giving me the creeps... you can see its organs, ew, gross.

[He's mostly talking to himself and a nearby impatient clerk, but he's seriously agonizing about this choice. Help him out?]

[ Of course a scream is going to get her attention, but when Shinji doesn't look like he's injured in any way ... well, she's just looking baffled. And also oddly a little older than the last time he saw her -- thank you, canon bump. ]

[When Nightingale disembarks, the very first thing she does is take a moment to just breathe in and start giggling. She's so happy about this place, she's practically sparkling.

No, wait. She is in fact literally sparkling, giving off bright lights and flashes of fireworks as she moves around for a bit. Though after a moment, she lets her light show die down so she can start exploring properly. Still, that's probably attention-grabbing.]

[B: Shopping trip]

[Once they've been down for a bit, Nightingale beelines towards the shops. The entire planet is forests and covered in magic, so this has to be a good place to get a magic staff. So she can be found around the shops- She's traded her uniform's normal cape in for a purple cloak, and she can be found wandering the city, looking at all the shops. She has all the joy of a kid in a candy store as you can see her picking up and trying all the different staffs she can find.

(If you get her at just the right time, you might find her pulling out a staff and, in the middle of a shop, starting what can best be described as a Jet Li-esque routine with the staff to test it. It's impressive as hell coming from someone with the muscle strength of a wet noodle.)]

[C: Hot springs!]

[Of course, as soon as she hears about hot springs, Nightingale wants to go. Her dorm had hot springs for her team's baths, and she misses that. On the other, well... She's developed a fear of water.

Which means she can be found at a hot spring, kneeling at the edge of it, occasionally dipping a hand in and pulling it out. She looks genuinely nervous, but she keeps muttering to herself.]

It's just water. It's hot, there's no more coming in. I can do this. It's nothing hard. It's nothing like that time...

[... That said, for all her muttering she doesn't appear to be getting in just yet.

And since it's a bath, all of her scars are on display, too- Bullet wound scars through her left elbow and knee, faint burns and cuts all over her torso, and also her ribs poke out a bit because she very much underweight. Like, probably worryingly so.]

[Okay, he totally hadn't meant to fly over the hot springs, honest. He was just exploring the place, and who's idea was it to make the place so... open concept?

Anyway, he flies over it. He notices her, though he hadn't meant to do that, either, and- argh. Now he has to stop, because something's up. He's never heard of girls just sitting around outside of a hot spring. This stuff is classic genre set-up, he's seen enough of Suguha's anime. Girls love hot springs.

Since Kirito also happens to be the king of Bad Decisions, he circles around and lands behind a big rock near the pool, keeping out of sight- or rather, keeping her out of his sight.]

A. Culture Shock

[Clay has visited several different kinds of planets and moons by now, so one would think that visiting a place so unusual wouldn't be a bit unsettling for him. But it is, it's just... He's so used to the big city life and hardly seeing nature like this anywhere that it's just weird. Not even uncomfortable, but weird. While others might find this place serene, nostalgic and homey, Clay just finds himself yearning for the city all the more. Still, there are people he hasn't seen in a while, so he'll seek them out all the same with a big grin that hides his weird feeling.]

Hey! Pretty neat world, huh?

[Though touching him might reveal that he feels kinda differently about that.]


B. Exploration

[Eventually, the weird feeling fades in favor of just being in love with the fact that he's on a different planet. That means it's time for exploring, for note taking, for adventure. Clay's already climbing up the roots of one tree, a big, excited smile on his face as he looks up, up, and up at the top he can't even see.]

Aw, dude, look at these! [He runs his hand along the trunk, feeling the bark and trying to see if it feels any different from the trees back at home.] They remind me of sequoias! [He holds up a hand in a point, as if to present a fact, though his attention is still up at the tree tops] Did you know the world's tallest tree - or my world's tallest tree, is called called the Hyperion tree? It's almost four hundred feet tall! But it's still not the widest, nor the largest when all of its dimensions are added together, and I think these babies beat them all by miles!

C. Whistle while you work

[If you're way up in the treetops and working on constructing or repairing some of the structures, you'll find Clay up there with you! He's not much of a builder of things like this by himself, as he mostly just follows instructions or does some heavy lifting, but he's very dedicated to what he does, and he seems thrilled to be up so high. Strapped around him is the flight suit that Hiccup gave him long ago, just in case he feels like leaping off when he's done, or accidentally falls off.

In fact, late in the afternoon when he's done, you can find him flying with the suit. He glides downward along the shore, a big grin on his face as he watches the ground below him, feels the wind in his face and hair. He would go further inward, but he's not particularly keen on doing an impersonation of George of the Jungle.]


D. Starlight (Locked to Allen)

[Just a few hours after arrival, once Clay's crew is settled and he's sure everyone is all good and ready to go, he separates himself from them, going to a more private spot away from everyone else for this. He takes out his comm, fixes his hair and shirt a bit, then smiles as he rings up Allen's comm.]

[A. Hot Springs Episode]

[Hot springs. Amazing. He hasn't soaked in one of these in... forever-- like he can't actually remember the last time. And since he's invisible (to most), he's not terribly worried about keeping up appearances. He hangs out in the rear of the quietest pool he can find. His long hair is tied back in a ponytail, and he wears a towel draped across his broad, tanned shoulders. He's got some serious definition beneath all that black leather he goes for.

For those who can't see Dezel, they may catch a blurred, watery glimpse of him reflected on the surface of the pool... or he might send a cool breeze to chill the top of the water every once in a while, so no one gets too hot.]

[B. The Giving Tree]

[Unlike many of the tourists, Dezel came here alone. This tree is familiar somehow and he's not sure how he feels about it. He doesn't give a fuck if he's supposed to keep his distance: he just walks right over and sits against the tree.

A summer gale rustles the red leaves and catches Dezel's attention. He takes off his hat and sets it on his knee, then tilts his head upward, eyes closed. He stays like that for a while... hell, he might even be asleep.

1) Around town
[He liked his crew well enough, what he didn't like was being stuck. Stuck was all he was on the fleet, he needed the fresh air he'd skipped out on with the last planet (The poison moon was hardly somewhere he wanted to breathe). So, as soon as they were planetside, so was Anders and he wasn't disappointed.

It was far more rustic than he was used to, but that didn't mean it lacked charm or exactly the kind of peace he was looking for. No, he was definitely intent on staying here as long as he possibly could. Which meant one run-back to the ship to gather some things (he was still working on that project for Lauralae) before setting out to find something more permanent.

It wasn't hard for him to find work here and there. His knowledge from the Circle came in handy, not just healing, but other, more mundane spells, became useful, as did his ability to make potions and simple remedies. One good thing about rural areas: they liked their at-home fixes. A little tonic to help with a cold and suddenly he was selling out faster than he was finding the supplies to make them, but he could find the supplies and that in itself meant he was more active than he'd been in the last month. It felt good to be doing something again.

Not something he would have expected.

He took up residence in a little treehouse, doing favors for the people he rented from and just about anyone else who wished to barter over pay. What 'money' he did earn went towards simple things like clothing, a staff he was saving up for, and the delicious pastries he'd come to enjoy far too much.

It was one of these pastries he held out as an offering to any familiar face he came across while out.]

Have you tried one of these? I'm afraid I'm addicted.

2) Collecting plants
Part of what was earning him money and barter was his potions and what he needed most was plants. He'd gotten the idea when he'd noticed something that looked suspiciously like elfroot off the beaten path. Further inspection proved it was elfroot and the hunt for any and all useful plants started.

But it wasn't just for the towns he was collecting these plants, he intended to dry and preserve as many as he could to use on the fleet itself. Better yet, if he could find some seeds, he could get some gardening supplies in town and start his own herb garden on the ship. That was his goal and it had him out in the thick forests far more often than he might have liked normally, but he was determined.

So determined, he might not notice the crunch of another person's shoes until they were much closer.]

3) Slug shopping
[The slugs in this place were adorable. He was sorely tempted to get one for himself. Instead, he'd had another idea. Someone...unexpected had come to mind when looking at the favored pets and reminded him of their first conversation while Anders had been stuck on the Marsiva.

It was certainly not an opportunity he intended to pass up. He went to the person selling the pets.]

Um, excuse me a moment, do you happen to have a recommendation of a slug for someone fairly unpleasant and consistently broody? Perhaps something in bright pink or rainbows to match his delightful disposition. I'll take a miracle-worker instead, if you happen to have a slug that can improve a person's face.

4) The Giving Tree; Closed to Kirk
[One thing being consistently planetside had done was let Anders listen in on local legends and one of the most interesting was this large tree that supposedly gave gifts. He wouldn't' deny it, he wanted to know for himself. The trick of the matter meant holding hands with someone and that part was less thrilling, but it ruled some people out immediately for his invitation.

He decided on Jim for a number of reasons and sent the man a message 'you owe me an adventure, Captain. How about a magical gift tree?' and sent coordinates on where to meet him.

Now he just needed to wait.]

[To her delight-- and no small relief after the Winter incident-- a weaponsmith here agrees that such a weapon as drawn in her diagram should be doable-- at a high cost, and they cannot exchange already saved funds.

So she takes her shamisen into the town and works for it; finds a steady wage because the sound of the shamisen appeals to these folk. You can find her working in various inns and common rooms and quiet bars, either providing musical accompaniment to a singer or other instrumentalists-- or, in some cases, singing herself. She hasn't done this since before she was ill. Tuberculosis doesn't exactly lend itself well to a singing career. But her voice and breath are back, strong and clear as ever.

She makes enough money over the next week that she can pay for her weapon, and offers up her shamisen to a craftsman so that he can study it and learn how to recreate it, in exchange for a discount on creating his first attempt for Makie herself. Misty, she has a present for you.

After that-- sans shamisen but now with a weapon that feels alien and familiar all at once cradled in her arms-- she heads out deep in the forest. To practice. There are ways to do that without hunting the wildlife, but if any of the more exotic predators considers her fair game, well... she'll roll with that.]

[ The long strip of beaches were not perfect. They were damp at times and the squelch of water and mud made his insides crawl. Still, there were enough dry sand for Leto to enjoy. So he ran. At the most, you would see just a blur for Leto's speed is incomparable at times.

He runs and runs and runs. And finally, when he's done, he collapses onto the sand with a sigh.

It'll have to do. ]

[ B - The Volcano ]

[ Greenery doesn't interest him. The desert creature in him rejects that kind of environment and Leto finds himself traveling far from people. He's aware that with all his past lives and the mental nature of the locals might not be the best mix. Best not to inundate the people with confusing memories and deaths that they would never understand.

Instead, he finds himself near the volcano, listening to the quiet rumble with a joy he didn't know he possessed. He pressed his back against the earth and listened. Occasionally, he watches the quiet seep of lava . . . and pokes it with his hand. It doesn't even sting, he notices with distant interest. The metamorphosis has gotten stronger. ]

[ Stepping off her own ship into the sharpness of bright light is difficult, especially when her eyes are sensitive enough already. She's still dressed in black from head to toe, arms covered in gloves and hood over her shoulders, but she knows that eventually she will have to strip down, push clothes to one side or threaten herself with an entirely difficult task - the task of choosing to burn or to sweat, to reveal herself or hide away.

There is a promise of quieter lands in the air, and she hopes to take it.

What catches her interest before anything else, of course, is Leto. There's a blur but she can smell him and she walks forward, watching the movement as best she can until he stops, collapsing into the ground; Lauralae hesitates, standing to one side and gazing at him, not wanting to interrupt something that feels private from what little she knows of him. ]

[ A - The Locals ]

[ Charles is in his element. The locals are fascinated with his ability to project and he's constantly surrounded by a gaggle of people, both young and old as he talks to them without words. Their feelings wash over him and Charles has never felt minds so open and receptive to his ability. He basks in it, a lot of his tension and paranoia melting away as he talks to children and adults alike.

Good luck trying to pull him away for anything else. ]

[ B - The Slugs ]

[ Charles manages to procure two slugs of different varieties and letting them crawl over him as he gets to work, making notes and observing the environment. And if they curl up on top of his head, he doesn't seem to mind or care, bending over his calculations and comparing the ecology of this new planet to the old moon they had visited before.

For a geneticist, this is a dream come true. ]

C - the inn

[They had left early when the ships arrived, and hadn't been back since securing a room at a local inn. It had all the hallmarks of their impromptu hotel trips on the moon, only far better. This was for as long as they could hold out.

It's only been a few days, yet it already feels so far removed from the Heron and the moon. Erik has thrown himself into exploring the forests and the markets, whilst Charles has enmeshed himself into the culture. Their days are often spent busily apart. But their evenings are quite different.

Erik shoulders his way through the door to their room not long after nightfall, a couple of packages under his arm.]

I'm starting to worry that the head chef here thinks she's going to adopt me.

And yes, he absolutely had a drink with an umbrella when he was laying out. It wasn't a beach visit without at least one! ]</sub>

<sub>[ As much as he enjoyed the beach, he wouldn't be spending all his time there. He made his way into the forests at any given opportunity, sometimes taking readings for the flora or less dangerous fauna he found (you could take a captain out of Star Fleet...). Sometime he would climb up trees if he saw something interesting.

And sometimes it was to escape something with quite a few sharp teeth. Such was the life of James T. Kirk. Par for the course, really. ]</sub>

<sub>[ If there was a place to experience the culture of a place it was in their social centers - markets and taverns. Thanks to generous donations from the previous captain, Kirk had some real spending money now and he could be found picking up little trinkets here and there through the market. The tavern came later towards the evening, Kirk grabbing himself the closest thing to a beer and taking up a seat at a table. He's naturally amiable, encouraging anyone and everyone to sit and talk with him. Anything goes, really, in a tavern once the drinks settle in. ]</sub>

[Shut up in her ship she may have been for quite some time, but the moment the Vanquish touches down Katie is bounding out the door with her lightsaber and a ball of wool and... apparently that's it??? [ A - Town/The Locals ]

[What a friendly bunch. Katie spends a lot of time getting to know the townsfolk and playing the adorable child, and a lot more time scaling the tallest town-trees to see if she can get to the view at the very top. It's okay. She'll always land on her feet. So... don't be surprised if a small child falls out of nowhere next to you from god knows how high.]

[ B - Anywhere in the wilderness tbh ]

[Including the volcano. She's just exploring. Prone to just dropping in on people (the less literal way this time) if she hears them out here, and she has excellent hearing and travels a lot faster than you'd expect for a small child on foot.

EVEN BETTER. Time to get a closer look than is strictly healthy. This reminds her of Adstringendum tbh. Only less exhausting. We're terribly sorry if a dinosaur crashes to earth somewhere nearby your hunting party because it tried to take a bite out of a travelling pooka. At least it won't be a T-Rex.]

[ C - The Giving Tree ]

[She's drawn here eventually, and lays her hands on the tree, resting her head against the bark. It's powerful. But she came without anyone to share memories with, so she spends time here until she comes across anyone she recognises.

This one, she won't climb. She has some respect for magical trees.]

[ And here Winter thought that if he lingered near a small grouping of trees near the middle of town, he could watch the crowd and not have to have people near him.

Silly him. His eyes are glued on a large cluster of people, holding hands and embracing out in the open and not a care in the world. This concept of just open sharing and compassion is a little strange. Sure, people are friendly as hell in other places, but this is extreme.

His attention shifts at the sound of branches moving and someone very bodily landing next to him. Naturally, he jumps away in surprise. Who the hell expects to be dive bombed from above by a small child? ]
