[At long last, the fleet has arrived to a new planet. This means it's time for a mingle guys! Get in! ]

[ he nudges her lightly ]

But you don't need to work for that. [ he smiles that mischievous smile of his. ] I got us covered. [ he may get carpal tunnel from all the sewing he's doing, but you gotta suffer for your art, right. or, for your friends and your girlfriend and your inn room. by all means she should work if she wants to, he knows he misses the routine of a job, but if it's for a room - she doesn't have to. ]

[She tilts her head looking at him curiously as they exit the ship.] What did you do, boyfriend?

[ he laughs and kisses the top of her head ]

You really can't guess?

If I guess the wrong thing it will make whatever other cool thing you did seem awkward.

[ cuz clearly he doesn't have enough of those, right? ]

[Tiny put out growl.] You got us a [she wants to say treehouse, but he wouldn't] room at an inn? [Also great and she sounds hopeful! She'd just been eyeing those treehouses even though obviously they weren't going to work.]

Aww, you got it in one!

[ pout, as if he didn't drop some giant hints there. ]

I gotta up my game... [ he eyed those treehouses too. in horror, before he headed over to the inn and hugged the landlord for their excellent taste in locations. ] I'm becoming predictable.

Yes. I think "what is the sweetest thing Winn could do?" and then I guess and I'm right. It's the worst. How can we go on? [She pauses to kiss him.]

[winn]

[ he happily returns that kiss. ]

We both knew you'd outgrow me sooner or later. [ he nods as solemnly as he can manage. ] But I'm willing to live with it if you are. [ he brushes a strand of hair out of her face. ]

That better be 100% teasing, sir. The only thing I'm going to outgrow are some clothes if the food is as good as I think it will be after the stuff we've been eating.

[winn]

It's a good thing you're dating a man who's a wizard with a sewing machine.

[ though after this planet he is going to seriously need a sewing break. ]

It is. You made all my best clothes.

So, is the date going to the inn or is there more planned?

Mmmhm...guess.

[ now he's just being cheeky. ]

You are the meanest. Food? The carnival? [Also, they sure are in physical contact as they set feet on the planet and walk. Shouldn't be long before things start leaking through.]

Food absolutely. I figured we'd save the carnival to a day less dedicated to eating.

[ right at this moment, the main thing winn's radiating is just simple happiness. days like these are rare, and he's hellbent on making the most out of this planet. considering what the moon was like, who knows what's ahead for them, and how long they'll go next time without a place this nice to relax in. ]

That's fair as long as we get to carnival sometime. [She does have little mixed feelings about it because of the last one she was at and who she was with then, but she also always liked them from the time she was a kid and she's just glad to be off the ship and doing things and she has a lot of pent up energy. If he wanted to race to wherever they were going she'd be game.] That's right. It's a verb. Try to stop me.

Wouldn't dream of it.

[ what is with this sudden jovial desire to race, oh god jim really is possessing everyone in the fleet! and now, apparently, it's his turn. ]

We have to beach, too.

[ he's never been too much of a beach goer back home, but sometimes they know what they're saying - you don't appreciate what you have til it's gone. Looking out at that water reminds him of home, and how badly he's been missing it this month. ]

Is the beach a tonight thing because you didn't mention packing for that. [Would not actually stop her though. She's so open right now. She wants to do all the things.] Did you have beaches near National City? [She felt like she heard something nostalgic in his tone. Was it his tone?]

Honestly tonight I only planned the inn, I figured eating and having some privacy would take up all of our attention - but I'm flexible.

[ he's eager for all of it, even if he's never been to a carnival without his dad and that's bound to bring some feelings. so what - he reclaimed toys, it's time he reclaims this as well! ]

Yeah, yeah, you know...it's California. Sunshine and beaches are our trademark.

[So many cardigans for sunshine and beaches, but he also doesn't wear them anymore. Not since...]

We're going to have actual privacy aren't we? Not just the doors are closed, but no one hearing us through the walls. Okay, that's pretty great. How long do you think we can afford to stay here? [She hadn't checked out their prices yet, but she's getting pretty excited about this idea.]

[ not since. the ghost of reid is always haunting him, in the back of his mind. a part of him, that bitter nasty part he doesn't like to admit exists (but who does, really?) always wonders if a reid substitute is all he is. he wants to distance himself from the man, but it's really hard to accomplish when all he knows about him is...what they have in common. clothes are easy to change. the rest of it... ]

Well, I haven't checked how thick those walls are - but they're bound to be better. [ and in any case, at least his best friend won't be next door. ] As long as you like.

[ he'll find a way to pay for it if he has to sew til he drops. let's face it, it's not all that different from what his life has been like lately anyway. it also won't be necessary, the pay may not be great, but neither are the expenses. and...he's pretty sure she's gonna help him pay for it despite what he said. right? ]

Can I say the whole time? Because I kind of want to just live down here while we can. Vision gave me some starter acorn money too. He sold off some of the chemicals he bought on the moon. [How is he even real? He's so relentlessly nice and thoughtful.

Also, she's getting the feeling that it's important for Winn to pay for this for her, but also that he might go to extremes if necessary to do it. Money is only as important to her as being able to do things with it like eat better food and stay here. The two of them should easily afford that, right? Maybe she can just buy the extras?]

[ he wouldn't trade jim for all the riches in all he worlds though. it's remarkable because when he first met the guy he thought he was weird and kind of a jerk, and now he doesn't want to imagine his life without him - even though in working to get home that's the life he's working towards. ]

And I was hoping you'd say that.

[ he leans over to kiss her, suddenly filled with this...overwhelming appreciation for himself? what? he pulls back and quirks a brow at her. ]
