[At long last, the fleet has arrived to a new planet. This means it's time for a mingle guys! Get in! ]

[ he really wishes he had his phone, with all his pictures, his apps, his media library. but rebuilding a new one on this one is the next best thing. ]

Right. No wonder you were excited about it. [She quickly packs a bag and then takes his arm.] Walking works for me. We can show your dress off to more people.

[ he loves that thing, it's a part of him. he still can't believe it was left behind on the goddamn coffee table. the one time it wasn't attached to his body!

he's gonna take that bag for her along with his own, hoping she'll let him, and smile as she takes his arm. ]

[ he will never get over how beautiful she is. not ever. ]

[She's fine with that. She hopes he and the bag are very happy together.] You say the best things. [At least the last part. She felt like she should be offended by the first part, but she gets he's trying to convey how important it is to him even if it's hard for her to imagine a phone being that important. She would be more apt to compare her powers to her ability to see or hear or walk.]

I love this planet. I kind of want to spend no time on the ships while we're here. [She'd been getting stir crazy especially after spending so much time on just the Windrose while she was recovering.]

[ he feels a tiniest bit better about that lesbian lover comment when he gets to carry her bag, ok, don't ask him why.

to him, his ability to compute, to create, to hack - is just like that too. he feels blind without it, like he's been robbed of a core part of who he is as a person and no sun generator is gonna get it back for him. he misses things going easily for him, just instinctively knowing what to do after years of practice and learning. he feels like a dumbed down version of himself, when his intellect is mostly what gives him his value as a person to himself. to him, it's an apt comparison: this is a system he can work with, it gives him back just a little bit of what he's lost. ]

I'm so glad you said that because I'd be ok with not even looking at the ships while we're here -

[ he's used to staying put for long periods of time, sitting at his desk and working hours, even days without stop. but the ships are cramped, there's no privacy...and here there's actual sunshine and a beach! a real beach! ok, he'll look at the ships, he'll even go in from time to time, but he's happy to spend as much time as possible exploring this place that looks like a paradise. ]

I like being on the same page with you. [She kisses his cheek.] That's why I picked up a couple of jobs since they don't take our money. You'll come visit me as I bartend, right?

Of course. Do I get a boyfriend discount?

[ he nudges her lightly ]

But you don't need to work for that. [ he smiles that mischievous smile of his. ] I got us covered. [ he may get carpal tunnel from all the sewing he's doing, but you gotta suffer for your art, right. or, for your friends and your girlfriend and your inn room. by all means she should work if she wants to, he knows he misses the routine of a job, but if it's for a room - she doesn't have to. ]

[She tilts her head looking at him curiously as they exit the ship.] What did you do, boyfriend?

[ he laughs and kisses the top of her head ]

You really can't guess?

If I guess the wrong thing it will make whatever other cool thing you did seem awkward.

[Tiny put out growl.] You got us a [she wants to say treehouse, but he wouldn't] room at an inn? [Also great and she sounds hopeful! She'd just been eyeing those treehouses even though obviously they weren't going to work.]

Aww, you got it in one!

[ pout, as if he didn't drop some giant hints there. ]

I gotta up my game... [ he eyed those treehouses too. in horror, before he headed over to the inn and hugged the landlord for their excellent taste in locations. ] I'm becoming predictable.

Yes. I think "what is the sweetest thing Winn could do?" and then I guess and I'm right. It's the worst. How can we go on? [She pauses to kiss him.]

[ he happily returns that kiss. ]

We both knew you'd outgrow me sooner or later. [ he nods as solemnly as he can manage. ] But I'm willing to live with it if you are. [ he brushes a strand of hair out of her face. ]

That better be 100% teasing, sir. The only thing I'm going to outgrow are some clothes if the food is as good as I think it will be after the stuff we've been eating.

It's a good thing you're dating a man who's a wizard with a sewing machine.

[ though after this planet he is going to seriously need a sewing break. ]

So, is the date going to the inn or is there more planned?

Mmmhm...guess.

[ now he's just being cheeky. ]

You are the meanest. Food? The carnival? [Also, they sure are in physical contact as they set feet on the planet and walk. Shouldn't be long before things start leaking through.]

Food absolutely. I figured we'd save the carnival to a day less dedicated to eating.

[ right at this moment, the main thing winn's radiating is just simple happiness. days like these are rare, and he's hellbent on making the most out of this planet. considering what the moon was like, who knows what's ahead for them, and how long they'll go next time without a place this nice to relax in. ]

That's fair as long as we get to carnival sometime. [She does have little mixed feelings about it because of the last one she was at and who she was with then, but she also always liked them from the time she was a kid and she's just glad to be off the ship and doing things and she has a lot of pent up energy. If he wanted to race to wherever they were going she'd be game.] That's right. It's a verb. Try to stop me.

[ what is with this sudden jovial desire to race, oh god jim really is possessing everyone in the fleet! and now, apparently, it's his turn. ]

We have to beach, too.

[ he's never been too much of a beach goer back home, but sometimes they know what they're saying - you don't appreciate what you have til it's gone. Looking out at that water reminds him of home, and how badly he's been missing it this month. ]
