[ though he finds it amusing, watching grown men and women from the Fleet awkwardly avoid any kind of physical contact. ]

It can be, mm. Especially when you try to avoid intense emotions normally.

[Hank has found a work around for it, in that he's managed to keep it to brief touches. But he has an excuse for avoiding it, too]

The best thing to do is relax and direct the flow of your thoughts. Otherwise, if you think of the worst, the worst is bound to come out.

[ He scratches the blue slug idly. ] In my experience, anyway.

[he huffs a noise, sounding amused]

I feel like you've given me this lesson before, professor. [and he probably he has, more or less, years ago] But I know. I'm - well, I haven't turned blue in the middle of the market yet. So I've mostly got a handle on it.

[ He blinks, looking at Hank. ]

[ He shrugs. ] I only guessed.

[ Because there's sharing and there's sharing. Charles knows which one Raven would settle for. ] Do you want to talk about it?

It's nothing bad. [he should probably make that clear] There's not - much to really talk about? I mean, just holding her hand is . . . uh, something.

[ His lips twitch. ]

Nothing, Hank. I'm sure the intensity will die down once you're more accustomed to it.

It only feels extreme when other emotions are at its peak. The more calm you are, the more likely you'll be able to regulate the memories.

That doesn't work so well when I know exactly how she feels. Not that it ever worked in the past to begin with. [he looks away and lifts a hand to rub the back of his neck, a little embarrassed. He manages to mutter out:] You know how I feel about her.

Well, you are both in the honeymoon phase. But if she's handling it, then I imagine it can't be all that bad.

It means everything feels new and bold and perfect.

[ Charles has done the honeymoon phase. Twice. ]

Has she complained or -- [ Asked you to stay out of her head. ] -- stopped in any way?

Oh. [a little weakly] That's . . . accurate.

[he shakes his head after a moment and blows out a sigh] No, I'm usually the one who has to - uh, stop.

Then I think it's going fine. Stop panicking.
