[Ahhhh a new planet~! Not only that, but one with AIR and WATER and LIFE! Obviously the Caprine is nice and sound for a water landing, so the second Poe parks the ship and opens the doors Pinkie rushes for the doors and takes in a DEEEEEEP inhale... and the second she sees the water she LEAPS off the pier with a "CANNONBAAAAALL!"

After that, it's a match made in heaven. It's so green and fresh and there's SO MUCH PHYSICAL AFFECTION~! She'll sleep on the ship and spend the morning keeping the engine and the waterproofing up to snuff, but then she'll be out exploring as much of the planet as she can! Whether it's the piers and their carnivals, the towns and their markets and bakeries and cafes, Fluff World (please somebody save her from getting one or ten as a pet), even taking a job for a day or two at one of the buildings to buy some... wood and soil? Might want to ask her about that too.

If you want someone to tour with and don't mind lots of nuzzles and hugs that comes with LOTS OF BRIGHT SUNSHINY THOUGHTS, feel free to stop her in the streets or give her a ping on the comm. She'd love to hang out with you.]

[Allen liked this planet, but if there was thing he really liked about it? It was that unlike the ships, there was more than enough room for training with powers. So it's not at all unusual for him to head off into the woods to activate his powers and practice what he can. Sometimes it's harmless, though other times if you're walking near? You might hear the sound of a tree getting swiped clean through followed by the tale-tell sound of a tall tree falling- in your direction]

[If lumberjacks aren't your thing, but mortal peril is, you might want to find Allen by one of the job boards posted in the city. There's a number of jobs on the bullentin board- such as delivery and hunting, but Allen doesn't seem the least bit interested in those. In fact, he seems more interested in a job notice that seems to have half a dozen danger warnings marked on it.]

'Monster attacks in remote village of Darrow. Creature is unknown to the area. Has killed numerous people. Big reward to the person who can stop it'.... Hmmmm.

[He's not sure if it's exactly Exorcist work, but you can't exactly be picky when you're lightyears away from the nearest undead-infested world. So he pulls out his communicator and starts copying down the information. Feel free to join him, or try to talk him out of it.]

[she's only been down here a few days but there's a familiarity to it all she can't deny, and finding a job board posted somewhere only adds to it. It certainly wasn't the same as a man standing in the middle of a busy side-street yelling out jobs and what he required, but she had seen something similar to this on the coast, for the locals and those passing through to earn coin. She'd been tempted at the time, but she had been too busy.

Now, though. She ends up stopped behind Allen, peering over his shoulder to read the posting, eyebrows raising. Monster attacks were also familiar, albeit not as much. It'd been a long time since she took a job period, and . . . well, once a mercenary, always a mercenary, Maias used to say. The ass]

And not a word about what manner of creature it is. [she murmurs, loud enough for Allen to hear. She finally glances down at him] Have you claimed this job as yours already?

A: She Works Hard For the Money

[The minute Wrath is released from the confines of the medlab and allowed onto the surface of the planet, she is On A Mission. That mission is: to make as much money as she can. Since she's still not allowed much physical activity, she does the one other thing she's good at: she paints.

Find her on the beach with a little booth set up. She used her allowance from Captain Vision to buy local painting supplies, and is producing some excellent landscapes (both true-to-view pictures of the seaside and far more fanciful ones) and doing quick portraits and caricatures for anyone who will pay her.

At the end of the day, she packs up everything to haul it back to the Windrose for the night. She still seems to be sleeping on her ship unless someone else is paying for her lodging for the night, and packs her meals in with her as well. She's not wanting to spend any money at all.

Want a picture? Want to be a good samaritan and help her carry all of her stuff? She'll be glad to see you!]

B: Rest Time

[Since she is still recovering, she'll occasionally take a nap in a beach chair in the shade, or be eating her pack lunch somewhere with a nice view. All company is very welcome! Wrath's in a better mood than ever, being out on her own two feet and no longer needing a cane.

And there's only so many hours a day someone can do good quality work, so she'll be around, looking at whatever sights she can see for free and getting to know the local kids. She really likes kids. She often has her new fluffslug riding around in the collar of her jumpsuit.]

C: Hot Springs

[She takes a day here and there to go to the hot springs after being reminded enough times that it's good for her physical recovery. Expect her to be soaking in the hottest pool she can find, probably without bothering with a bathing suit. People just get so weird about that stuff.

Though she does find it very odd that she now has a few actual scars. This is a new thing for her...]

Mystique - OTA

a) Flying/animal forms:
[While she had arrived in the Fleet during their stop over at the pervious moon, Mystique had no real interest in being there, the idea of it disgusting her. This planet however was perfect for spreading her wings, literally at times as she took to the air in her raven form. It was a great escape, to ignore everything else and just fly. Or to take to the forest in wolf form and just run. Eventually she does have to land or come back to town, not concerned about hiding her shifting abilities at all as she does so.]

b) Touchy feely crap/shopping:
[Oh ugh, no, the people of this planet just, ugh! Many have come close to losing those hands that try and grab her own, Mystique having started off annoyed by being touched to becoming enraged at the connection that established through touch. This was NOT going to happen. However, it meant she would have to do something that she hadn’t done in a long time; wear clothing. She never advertised the fact she was technically naked, her ‘clothing’ formed from her mutation so she never got tangled up in useless garments when she shifted forms. So this lead for her working her way through the clothing stores, making faces at the choices and the fact she would have to pick and wear something.]

c) Target shooting:
[Dressed in her new choice of clothing and finding some pouches just large enough to carry her guns on her hips from one of the stores, Mystique has made her way far enough away from the settlements to set up several targets and finally get some target practice in. Honestly she would had liked to have done this earlier, to know how the guns worked and work through any adjustments that were needed, so she makes up for the missing time by spending several days of the week practicing in the same spot.]

d)Locked to Kurt:
[Mystique wasn’t sure how she felt with getting a request to meet up with Kurt while on the planet, unsure and unable to get him to tell him why. Yet she still went, still agreed to meet up with him for… whatever he had planned.]

e) Ugh, tree hugging - Locked to Charles:
[Honestly, the fact she had even considered doing this was stupid of her, very stupid. To go to some ‘magically tree’ and gives out gifts to people holding hands for hours on end. Ugh. But as much as she hated to admit it she was curious, partly to how it worked but also to what she might get. Would it be something good or was this just leaving Mystique open to something bad? Even once she had weighed up the options and told herself it wasn’t worth it, she found herself telling… asking Charles to go with her to the tree. Maybe she should had chosen someone else, the hike to the tree no doubt difficult in his position, but Mystique honestly couldn’t think of someone else she would… not trust, but could deal with seeing whatever might come up during this… eh, hand holding process.]

Do you honestly trust everyone on the Fleet? [Mystique turned her gaze on him as she said that. There were too many unknowns, too many that were like her. Even with trying to play nice, she couldn't break all her habits, collecting any scraps of information that might give her an advantage over someone else.

As for her children...] Sometimes a skewered version of the truth is better than an actual one.

Remy LeBeau - OTA

[Being out on the surface of a planet never felt so good, especially after coming from the poison moon they had previously visited. This, this couldn’t be more different. The strange culture of the planet that resulted in general touching didn’t put Remy off at all, it a touch more intense than how he was normally, physical touch an important factor in his life. So the hand holding and occasional hugs, while a little weird at first, didn’t worry him at all. The mental connection it created, that was something else, but luckily the most Remy had gotten from the locals was a dose of emotions, which he could easily brush off once they had moved on.

There are several spots that he can be found during his time on the planet, only rarely going back to the Wonderduck or other ships:

The docks and the stalls and carnival held on them.

Working as part of the construction labor crews in the tree tops. Normally he would steal money, but due to the mental links he found it didn’t fit well, creating even a level of guilt for stealing from such open and trusting people. And, well, he always loved heights.

Either staying at the inn overnight and enjoying the company of the locals and fellow Fleet friends, or later in the month grabbing his own treehouse, enjoying having his own room and again being high up in the trees.

Or open to others on the planet with him.]

Locked to Rogue:
[At first Remy was either dismissive or didn’t really care about the ‘gift giving tree’ that existed on this planet, yet like cats, he was curious to see just what happens after hearing the stories of others filter in over the month.

When he does make his way up to it, taking on the day long hike with enough supplies for staying overnight as needed, Remy heads up there with the one person he trusts to be doing this with; Rogue. If anyone is going to be seeing parts of his memories or sharing his emotions then it was she he trusted most of all, easily at the top of his list with what they had been through together and the level of trust they had between each other.]

[ Charles is in his element. The locals are fascinated with his ability to project and he's constantly surrounded by a gaggle of people, both young and old as he talks to them without words. Their feelings wash over him and Charles has never felt minds so open and receptive to his ability. He basks in it, a lot of his tension and paranoia melting away as he talks to children and adults alike.

Good luck trying to pull him away for anything else. ]

[ Charles manages to procure two slugs of different varieties and letting them crawl over him as he gets to work, making notes and observing the environment. And if they curl up on top of his head, he doesn't seem to mind or care, bending over his calculations and comparing the ecology of this new planet to the old moon they had visited before.

For a geneticist, this is a dream come true. ]

[ A - The Beach ]

[ The long strip of beaches were not perfect. They were damp at times and the squelch of water and mud made his insides crawl. Still, there were enough dry sand for Leto to enjoy. So he ran. At the most, you would see just a blur for Leto's speed is incomparable at times.

He runs and runs and runs. And finally, when he's done, he collapses onto the sand with a sigh.

It'll have to do. ]

[ B - The Volcano ]

[ Greenery doesn't interest him. The desert creature in him rejects that kind of environment and Leto finds himself traveling far from people. He's aware that with all his past lives and the mental nature of the locals might not be the best mix. Best not to inundate the people with confusing memories and deaths that they would never understand.

Instead, he finds himself near the volcano, listening to the quiet rumble with a joy he didn't know he possessed. He pressed his back against the earth and listened. Occasionally, he watches the quiet seep of lava . . . and pokes it with his hand. It doesn't even sting, he notices with distant interest. The metamorphosis has gotten stronger. ]

A MYSTERY (Nightingale, OTA)

[So, wandering around the planet, there is now a little girl. She is at most eight years old, she is wearing long robes (that kind of drag on the ground) in a familiar shade of purple, and she appears to have her own mass again in giant fluffy blonde hair. So, you know, her identity is probably obvious, except for the fact that she's tiny.

Whenever anyone finds her, she's wandering the planet, excited.]

[A: Shops]

[She's a tiny child with access to her adult self's bank account. Which means she's running around and poking into all of the shops. She has found blankets, towels, a bunch of wooden knickknacks and a ton of food.

On the other hand, she also doesn't appear to be aware of the ships, or how to return to her ship. So she's spending her nights returning to one of the inns (at an early time, she's still a child and obeys an early curfew, okay). But still, maybe she shouldn't be allowed to run around unsupervised?]

[B. Fluff Island]

[Honestly, there's not much to say on this one. She's found her way to the island full of fluff slugs, and she's spent at least an hour there just sitting there. She hasn't moved at all. She's just got fluff slugs crawling all over her and she seems to be quite content.]

[C. Palace]

[As soon as she hears about that palace in the forest with mysterious queens ruling together, she's immediately setting out to head deep into the forest. Which, well. Means you have a tiny child wandering through the forest, completely ignorant of any danger. Or you might find her... trying to sneak into the palace outright. Because she's a good child who makes good choices.]

[She probably looks asleep or dead from high up, so Kirito can't help stopping to check on her as he flies by. Maybe the slugs eat bodies, who even knows.

When he gets closer, it's pretty obvious that she's not dead, but he's still reaching out to poke her cheek, because that's what you do with sleeping people. He's also hovering over her, so his wings are humming with a soft, piping flute sound. You awake down there, kiddo?]

[Nothing on earth or in space could have stopped Erik from leaving the ship as soon as possible once it had landed. After so long spent confined first to the poisonous moon and then the Heron, the sudden freedom to go anywhere in the open air was irresistible. It hadn't taken long after picking up his hunting and cooking jobs for him to investigate the local wares, and he can be found rummaging through the clothing, or seeing what weapons might be available on this very wood-focused world. More often, he'll be trawling the food side of the markets, picking up fresh produce for his own cooking endeavours.

His first few days had resulted in not a few instances of him jerking away from the affectionate locals, but after a while he's come to tolerate it. While he allows the occasional hand-grabbing and hug, he doesn't reciprocate. A stiff acceptance of local culture is about all he'll allow, and not for too long a stretch.]

b. treetop balcony

[The balconies are a peaceful place to be, despite their distance from the ground. Erik finds himself returning to them in the evenings that he isn't working, after the paper lanterns are lit. It's less busy than the markets below, and the locals are a bit less populous up here. Better, for the tetchier side of him that still resents too much contact.

He's often lost in thought up here, watching the trees swaying in the breeze. Some nights he's more preoccupied with staring at an old-fashioned silver locket in his hand, to the extent that he may not even notice anyone who's approaching. Better give him a gentle prod.]

[He's never spent much time in open woods like these. And what a first time it is; the mammoth scale of the trees doesn't cease to hold some wonder for him. Erik had cottoned on to the local hunting parties' existence early on, and often makes trips with them to seek out game. Until he gets his own weapon, he borrows a spear, which he quickly modifies with left-over steel brought back from the Heron. Sometimes he'll also hunt alone, relishing the silence and the focus it brings (unless someone should interrupt him).]

[ It is a bit late, she thinks, but there's no denying how much she appreciates the fact that he's taking those words back. Some of her discontent falls away and it makes her feel a little... Less torn, oddly. It makes her feel as though she can breathe a little easier, and she tilts her head back up to look at Erik, trying to pretend she isn't a little happier at the confession. ]

It takes us a long time to learn things. You've learned it, so now it's my turn. [ Names are names, after all, and Raven has a handful - not as many as the other three, but enough for now. She has to try and... Keep her head up. She's working on herself. And that's important. ]

[Now that he's properly settled in, Mikleo is determined to stock up on as much fresh food as he possibly can when they inevitably leave this fantastic place. Unfortunately, it's hard to get a job when none of the residents can see him. Sure, he can help out here and there doing jobs with people who can see him, but that isn't much, and it's not like they get double pay.

Thus, he's made himself a business: at the edge of one of the markets near the beach (where refreshments are the most craved), there's a little display set up, with a handful of little cups and spoons, and beside them, set in ice, is a collection of buckets of ice cream and shaved ice, in varying flavours of fruit that can be purchased in the market. There's even vanilla bean and chocolate, tucked away in the corners. There's also a sign- "1 scoop = 1 acorn", with an extra cup waiting expectantly for payment. He'll be replenishing the flavours as they run out and rotating them, so who knows what the rest might be at any given time.

Beside the display, only half-attentive since people would get scared off if the ice cream served itself, Mikleo is reading a book. Don't steal!!]

[Now this is interesting. Usually the only entrepreneur around is himself, considering the mess he made on the beach before. He's been gathering herbs all day and he's feeling the heat, so... why not. Why not come over. He's very impressed by the setup, and sure enough, decides to donate a few acorns to the cause so he has at least one of each flavor (that he can see, that is).

It's obvious Mikleo isn't interested in conversation, so he just shoves a spoon into his mouth. There's a critical pause... an eyebrow for evaluation, and then the final verdict:]

[ he's spending most of his acorns on his and kitty's inn room, but browsing is free, right! so winn can be found wandering the shops, marveling at everything that's different and everything that's familiar - and basically everything, period, usually while munching on some snack or other. when he gets tired of wandering, he often settles in at the bar kitty works at, just hanging out with a drink and his notes. ]

b. beach

[ after having a prehistorical run in in the forest, he's decided to stir clear of it. it was very cool - but also very terrifying and very enough for him, thanks. the beach, on the other hand, continues to offer him nothing but nostalgic memories of home, so he enjoys spending his down time here. he can be found lazing on the sand, swimming in the water, reading, jotting down notes, and even - very early in the mornings - jogging, because if he doesn't keep up his cardio he knows kirk will make him pay for it. ]

ARRIVAL / BEACHES;

[ There's no real way for Raven to avoid how much she's not entirely comfortable with the sandy beaches and the beauty of them, stretching out before her and making her shift awkwardly. When she steps off and away from her ship she makes a beeline to look at them, quickly enough, before she decides that, perhaps, a beach time afternoon isn't on the cards for her, not right now. She's already a little sore about more than her fair share of things, and she has to push herself to step away and walk forward; thoughts of Cuba aren't going to do her any good right now.

A few hours later, though, and she's back, slipping down to sit properly and cross her arms, gazing out at the water. She's back here mostly because she can remember an afternoon conversation with Hank where had idly thought about a beach planet and how they could spend some time together - and now, of course, she has to pick the perfect spot.

It would help if she knew what a good date spot looked like. ]

HOT SPRINGS

[ And, of course, how is she able to resist the promise of a hot springs, something warm and a little self-indulgent? The showers on the Blameless aren't exactly the most exciting and while she imagines she doesn't technically need to shower at all, since she could just reshape herself to a cleaner version, it's an indulgence she thinks she might let herself have.

Standing by one of the springs, Raven transforms from blonde and dressed up to blue (and, technically, naked) before she slips into the spring and sinks down low enough for her jaw to be covered by the warm water.

Perfect. ]

SHOPS / INN

[ Last time she was on a new planet Raven hadn't had much time for shopping, mostly because she was brand new and because the things hadn't really been all that interesting. Now, though, she feels as though she has a little more reason to look around, to peer in and actually see what's going on and what people are selling, and she steps in and out of shops and inns, peeking into things and avoiding most contact - which seems to be something the locals respect.

It doesn't take her long to realise that people aren't fond of the credits she's earned and, instead, she does some work around in some of the inns - it's the same thing that she's done before, and is doing on the fleet, so there's no shame in it. When she has a little money in her pocket she's off and getting herself some little things, perusing the shops with her hair curling around her shoulders. ]

I have nothing to complain about.

[ Raven can nudge at Hank and tease at him and she doesn't mind being the one that does it to draw him out of his shell - not that she needs to, not much, not these days. She doesn't have to do much but smile at Hank and they can slip into something familiar and comfortable and warm - and she adores it. She loves being around him and loves seeing him light up - not just because it shows they're both happy, but because it shows how far they've come. Neither of them are shy or on edge, not anymore, and they're relaxed into the relationship they share with each other.

They're getting back onto a path that's going to leave them happy for a long time. She believes in that.

Hank lets his head rest on her shoulder and she leans back, turning to nudge her nose against him before she breathes out. She's so comfortable here and she keeps feeling as though her emotions are going to bubble over -- and it's impossible for her not to give into it, especially with how arm it makes her feel. This planet might have felt uncomfortable and awkward at first, but now that they've learned to manage it a bit better... It just feels nice. Really nice. Comfortable. She's basking in it, like she's out in the sunlight and it's warming her entire body. ]

We should make one for here as well. Silly things - like our beach date. I haven't forgotten, you know.

[ She feels the smile, and she tilts close, her hand finding his and beginning to trace it gently. ]

We can do other things, like a picnic here, and climbing the trees, and swimming.

SHOPS

[ Hermione's first port of call in most places, both here and in the Drabwurld, was often the shops. Not because she wanted a great deal of material things, but because she wanted things that she couldn't get elsewhere - herbs and plants and things she could grow for potions and healing. There wasn't always a lot of luck, but she could try her best, and that's what she's focussed on now.

When she realises she can't use her credits - apparently her minor dramas were enough to get her some of those, but she doesn't want to think too hard about it - she gets to work starting to help others around, carrying things from store to store with a bit of magic and, awkwardly, helping cook.

She's not a very good cook. (She misses Kreacher.) ]

BEACH

[ When she's not 'working' she's down by the beach, stretched out and happy to be by the water again. The last time she was on a proper beach she was on the island of Leathann, helping to raise it into the air, and she was still reeling from loss after loss. It's a little nostalgic to be here, sitting in the sand and looking out at a long ocean, but it's not something she minds. The warmth is wonderful on her skin and she doesn't feel as out of place as she has previously, instead basking in the fact that she can just settle down in the sunlight and enjoy it.

She might even doze off, but she doesn't mean to. Lack of sleep and a curse that's gone but still hangs over your shoulders means that exhaustion is a common friend, and Hermione is more than used to it. ]

FOREST

[ The best part, at least in Hermione's opinion, is the beautiful forestry. It reminds her of the Drabwurld and the forests between the main city of Caer Glaem and the long pathway she had helped build that lead to neighbouring towns. She remembers walking through them with faeries and other magical creatures, her dog at her side and her friends with her, and it had been wonderful. She remembers it all and, sometimes, she has to find a tree to sit under, just to bask and remember.

She ends up with a fluffy slug on her lap, her fingers brushing over it gently as she hums a song, an old Irish tune that Diarmuid had sung to her once to calm her into sleep - and she basks in the quiet and the peace, quite different from what she's used to. ]

[as soon as she's shuffled from the Marsiva, Tempest wastes no time in fleeing to the planet itself, stir-crazy from a week of being in one place. She'd never been good at sitting still, and being forced to do it has only kept her annoyance at a low boil almost the entire time, just waiting to explode. The shuffle comes at the perfect time.

Of course, upon arrival and even with fair warning, she's immediately overwhelmed by how welcoming and friendly the locals are. It isn't the empathy that bothers her, but the touching and the hugs and the hand-holding and it confuses her, because normally one look at her is enough to chase anyone off. But not here. She's left staring dumbly most of the time, before she shakes herself out of it and makes her way to and through the market.

The original plan was to get to the forest as quickly as possible, but it's hard not to stop and look around, despite the overwhelming greetings. This is all new to her and it reminds her just a little of home, and she can't help but take a moment to stop and peek in when something catches her eye. She's never been one for shopping, but . . . well. It doesn't hurt to admire the wares, right? Right]

[eventually, she makes her way to her destination and immediately her mood is improved. She's always felt more at place amongst the trees rather than in the busy streets of a market or a city, and the forest is huge and beautiful and just waiting for her to explore. Until she gets used to it she keeps close to the paths, but it certainly wouldn't be strange to find nothing but her armor and her cloak at the base of a tree and to find her on a branch above, relaxing or fiddling with the strange communicator she was given.

But there's also a beach, and aside from a few times in another world, she's never properly been there. She isn't the sort to sunbathe or even remove the layers of clothing she hides under, but rather she'll remove her boots and walk along the waterline, letting sand slip between her toes and enjoying it for what it is. When the markets prove to be too packed she'll take the long way around, walking along the beach with her boots hanging from her hand, making her trip to the forests via the scenic route]

[as much as he enjoyed spending hours in a lab, he admittedly missed building things, too. And at this point, it didn't matter what building entailed, as long as he was working with his hands. With all that had been going on the last few weeks, the distraction was more than welcome, and when he learned that they could earn money by helping out with repairing buildings, well. His mutation came in handy, even under the effects of the serum.

So when he's helping out with repairs, Hank can be found scaling trees, getting up to those higher places that need repairs. It's simple, easy work and he has no fear of heights, so it works out, right? Ready your monkey jokes, you'll need them]

[of course, Hank is the type to use this stop as an opportunity to gather information about the planet and the people, too. Just because it wasn't a toxic moon didn't mean there wasn't something to learn regardless, and while he wasn't very comfortable with how touchy the locals were, he was tolerating it in return to ask them questions - about their culture, about the planet, etc and so forth.

And of course, the other aspect is hard to be offended by, especially when you're best friend happens to be a telepath. That and you know, being in a place before where this sort of thing happened regularly. So when it does happen, he just sort of sighs and accepts it.

When he isn't being a nerd or avoiding touching people, he can be found idly shopping around, whether it be for clothing or for something else. It's very likely you'll catch him eating here as well, as it would be a crime to pass up on good food]

She could just hang in the bars on the Iskaulit but she was getting bored of the ships, and she hadn't done any exploring on the last shop. So sue her, she'd attempt the decent route.

Which meant, taking up shifts in the bars. Why work for just acorns when you can work for whatever they call alcohol down here?

When she isn't working, she passes through the shops every now and then, picking up a trinket here or there. And you can bet she picked up a couple of silly wood carvings, all for her office back on the Bishop. May as well make it homely if she was going to be stuck here]

[It seems a common occurrence to find this particular wizard surrounded by stacks of books. Even when his self-appointed job on the fleet was a librarian, he falls easily into the role on the planet without much thought on the matter. What was important was that this place had book. Real books. Made with paper and cloth and glue. There really was few things sweeter to him than the smell of real books. He appreciated it far more now that metal and invisible data did that work for them.

But books aren't free, and as he discovered quickly, the gaining any local currency meant getting a local job. For Felix, that ends up being a bookstore. He's getting paid mostly in books, which suits him just fine. Venturing inside the small shop you may find him sitting behind a counter half covered in books and his head down towards the open pages of at least one volume.]

[He doesn't really hold it against the people that live here. The touching is part of their culture, and most of them are very considerate about that. But sometimes people forget. Sometimes they're a bit too eager to help.

It only happens a couple of times before he learns to guard himself a bit more. An eager waitress at a tavern that tries to guide him by the hand or a random shopper linking arms with him during the course of casual conversation. And each time, the contact doesn't last long. It's him that freezes and them that pulls away within a few seconds as if they had been bitten. The strong surge of anxiety - and brief flashes of the reason behind it - leave them muttering pleas for forgiveness as he backs away.]

[It's hollow when the other people know exactly why he's running, so he doesn't bother to finish the sentence. He merely ducks behind the nearest corner or tree and tries desperately to remember how to breath properly]

Beach I

[Early any given morning in early July, Natasha can be found on one of the sandy beaches, running along the firm strand where the waves have wet the sand. She sets a brisk pace, but not inaccessible. It wouldn't be too hard to join her, if you're inclined?]

Beach II

[A few days Natasha can still be found on the sand after her workout, laying out in the sun. She hasn't been here long enough to need a break or to be invested in the idea of relaxing, but it's pleasant and it gives her time to think.

It also gives her the chance to see more of her fellow abductees, see how they're handing it, without an expectation of making conversation herself. There's something to be said for that.]

Working Girl

[Most of the time, Natasha still finds odd jobs to stay busy and build her resources. She works at several different places, spreading herself out. In particular, she found a place selling something very like gin at a small stall on a platform about half way up one giant tree, sharing space with a number of other food stalls and a public space.

[ Unlike Anakin, Obi-Wan had an affinity for living creatures. Most would find that surprising since Obi-Wan himself is more mindful of the Cosmic Force, the nature to which events move and shape themselves. His bad feelings are legendary after all.

But Obi-Wan . . . enjoys this at times, connecting with other living creatures. Perhaps it is his final concession to his Master, that he has finally come to terms with it. Or perhaps his Master always knew, in some way, that Obi-Wan held that potential.

He couldn't say. Qui-Gon took those answers.

Obi-Wan reaches out to pat the Triceratops, watching it blink and curve his head towards the hand. A few others seemed to be lying around, watching Obi-Wan with baleful eyes. Not that he was worried. Even if those horns looked sharp. ]

[ Obi-Wan normally spurns this concept. As a Jedi, they help without credit or expectancy of a reward. But the Fleet is different and he had to be more flexible with the possibilities that occasionally, money is required. It's not as though he can contact the Temple to send his funds. And it's clear that the Atroma's method of payment would not work here. Obi-Wan has no interest in staying in the Fleet the whole time.

It's easy enough to maneuver himself around the trees and move the timber around with the Force. This is beneficial work, after all. Though he wishes the locals would not stare so much. ]

She feels a bit guilty for that. But she needed time-- time to sort out her feelings, time to prepare herself, time to make her peace with her anger and let it go to the Force. Because if Barriss senses it here and now, things aren't going to turn out well. She knows that from experience-- how Leia reacted to Anakin, her thinly veiled anger unable to be kept in check, but Leia being unable to explain the problem, and how much it stressed Anakin out-- the not knowing. It was a bad time.

But she's had time now, she's made her peace-- she thinks. She hopes. So she approaches Barriss now, on the beach. Anxiety and uncertainty flutters in her stomach. Ahsoka takes a deep breath. She can do this.]

[Max elects to avoid the city after the confrontation with Misty; he keeps away from people in general, lingers around the wildlife skirting the cities. He's decided to be a wilderness man for the rest of his stay on the planet, because — well, he can't handle being aboard their ship that long, but he also can't handle being touched in any way, shape, or form.

So. Here he is.

Anyone passing may find a wonderful smell coming from the forest; visiting will find Max sitting against a log with his old dog Rock sitting at his side. He's got already cooked slabs of a creature that is similar to rabbit, if not a bit bigger than a rabbit should be, and the mutt is chowing down on it from a tin bowl.

Max skins his own, focused and methodical. He puts it on the fire and settles. When he's not cooking, he's practicing doggy tricks with his pooch; he has him perform fetching, sitting, rolling over, standing on his hindlegs, speaking, stay. He even has him play dead, aims with his finger and pulls an imaginary trigger, and Rock wobbles to lay down with his tongue lolling in hope that he was convincing enough for more rabbit-thing meat. He earns it plentifully, as well as a few ear scritches and belly rubs. Max enjoys flipping dogs' ears inside out, don't trust his grumpy ways.

Which - okay, that's how it happens. Being a creature of the forest, it's hard not to indulge, to let her feet take her wherever she wishes to, further and further the longer she's on the planet. It's a wonderful feeling, being able to explore without the responsibilities she had in her world bearing down on her, and it reminds her of simpler times, when she'd travel between towns and villages looking for work when there was none to be found in the capital.

She steps through the trees and it isn't that surprising to find someone else out here, and it's far enough from the town itself that she doesn't feel the stress of crowds of people. It makes her just a bit friendlier, but this man is someone she doesn't know and she isn't foolish enough to drop her guard.

Instead she stops, pushing some hair out of her face and regarding him with a curious look and tilted head . . . and then all of her attention is on the dog, and she smile a little]

My apologies for intruding. [she murmurs, before she nods to the dog] Does he enjoy it out here?

He didn't expect much, if he's completely honest — like, knowing his luck, he figured the tree would have given him something offensive, rude, or otherwise dangerous. But it doesn't. It drops him a weathered box that he picks up with a happy little smile. He brushes his thumbs along the edges, pops it open, and sits hunkered over the things inside with a big dopey grin.
