We clearly do. That or we just have to figure out how to stop getting kidnapped.

[don't make rebuilding a jet sound like it's easy, Hank]

The thought of letting the children in on it, though . . . he makes a face] I don't think we'll be telling the children there's a jet underneath the mansion in the first place. For their safety and our sanity - at least, not at first.
[and given how often Charles doesn't go down to the labs, well . . . he isn't sure Charles even knows the pieces are there]

Depending on how things go when we reopen it, though . . . it's up to Charles on how we advertise it this time.

The one back home started as more a place for mutants to stay, most of them headed out to the local high school to study 'til we got outed 'nd the world got wind of us. It changed after that so the younger students got taught by the two oldest ones who had graduated, but the rest had to stick 'round the local high, put on a good face for mutant human relations or some merde like that. [It felt more like just putting them in the firing line than doing anything overly positive, having them face abuse thrown their way without being able to fight back.]

While mutant human relations are a good thing . . . [he pauses, then shakes his head again] There isn't a local high school near us - at least, not that I know of. The students we did have in the beginning - we found them all through Cerebro. And - I suppose I counted as one of the first, in a way. Alex, too, before he got drafted.
But now the world knows about us, too - so who knows what'll happen.

From what I understand was a bit of a mix with that 'nd those just findin' the school back home. Not sure how they did considerin' we weren't 'outed' by that point, but guess ya get those reachin' out among their own communities, word of mouth 'nd all that. [People did try and stick to those like themselves, so it didn't surprise Remy mutants would sought out other mutants.]
no subject
But - mm, word of mouth would certainly get the word out. [the thought that there were enough mutants for that to be efficient, though . . . it amazes him, a little. He knows that there's more out there in his world, but back when they first began looking, there weren't a lot at all. At least, not that Charles could find at the time.
Another reason to reconnect with the world back home, he thinks]
It sounds nice. Ah - hearing that mutants know about the school in your world, I mean.

'nd... yeah, need to stick together, provided we don't tear ourselves apart. [Different views and all that...] Have a feelin' times just goin' to get rougher, if from what I hear from the other universes be half true. Ain't everyone goin' to be happy 'bout us bein' 'bouts, merde, still got issues with race 'nd sex, then ya throw 'nother species or whatever we technically be 'nto the mix.
no subject
That's about what I hear, too. I mean - mutants are humans, as much as some people like to argue we aren't. But you still have mutants like me who don't look it, and . . . [he shrugs a shoulder] I could explain it until I'm blue in the face - er, no pun intended - and it wouldn't do much difference.
no subject
People don't like differences, ain't changed in thousands of years, just a different reason for it now. [There was a sigh to those words,] Which why I appreciate Xavier's take on it all, but don't see it happenin'. [Before a touch of a smile emerged, able to imagine the look he would had gotten from Rogue with that comment, and the follow up telling off.] Though I know a few who would argue that it still worth tryin'.
no subject
It is worth trying. [surprise, Hank is one of those people . . . in a sense. His views mostly fall on Charles' side, but . . . well. He sees the X-Men as a necessity, too] But I know it'll take more than just that, too.

But with things settled for them back home, he figured it was highly unlikely, too. They hadn't even opened the school yet.
Little does he know]Not that I'd hope it happens. I hear it's . . . confusing. [to use a nicer word for it]

Ah, here I am bringin' down the mood when we stuck in a place like this. Be damn worse spots we could had been dumped off at. [Shooting a grin to Hank, Remy pulled himself back to his feet.]
no subject
He grins back a little wryly and shakes his head] It's alright, you didn't bring the mood down.

Guess 'll just keep catchin' ya 'round the trees then, non?

Mm, I'll be up here, more or less.
