Self-termination protocols will be activated. It's much less messy that way.

[ He frowns. ]

I rather deactivate those than to decommission the entire unit.

Removal of fail-safes isn't advised, are you certain?
axiomed: (Remind me of how I used to feel)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-16 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'm certain.

Please acknowledge your authorization here.

[The woman indicates the holographic interface again.]

Would you like a risk factor report?
axiomed: (Thought becomes a whisper)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-16 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ He frowns. But if this is inside her mind, he could easily tap into whatever access code they required. He tapped into the program and said, show me. ]

Not particularly.

[At his command, the authorization code scrolls up on the screen, ready to be copied. The woman at the desk keeps smiling.]

How else may I help you today, programmer?
axiomed: (And we really cared)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-16 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
No, that'll do.

[ He hopes. ]

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-16 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
All right! [Bright smile. Which goes on, and on, and one. She folds her hands on the desk and simply looks at Charles with infinite patience.]
axiomed: (Hurt me)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-16 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ Er. ]

I'll be . . . leaving now.

[ This is surreal, even for him. ]

[And this isn't even the real CoHo.]

Would you like the unit to remain in standby, or shall we reboot?

axiomed: (The life I knew by heart)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-16 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
[ Reboot . . . restart . . . that would make sense. ]

Yes. I would like the, ah, unit to reboot.
pain_train: (unraveling)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-16 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Commencing reboot now, have a delightful day!

[With one last, bright smile, the CoHo winks out of sight.

A trapdoor opens in the floor where her desk was, and a cylinder rises out. Inside is Wrath, seemingly dead or unconscious and suspended in...yes, that's honey.

The cylinder disgorges her in a sticky, cloying wash, and for a minute, she lays limp and face down on the floor.]
axiomed: (What turns we missed)

[ He rushes to her side, shaking her gently. ]

Wrath. Wrath!
pain_train: (in recovery)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-16 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
[She jerks at the touch, sucks in a breath, chokes. Then rolls to one side--mercifully away from Charles--and vomits out more perfect, amber honey across the metal floor.

Wheezes:]
Charles?
axiomed: (When I met you)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-16 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
[ He exhales, a deep sigh of relief. ]

How do you feel?
pain_train: (no no no)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-16 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
[She rolls onto her back, one hand reaching out to grab whatever she can reach on him--hand, knee, doesn't matter. She just needs something to hold on to.

She looks around the room, becoming more alarmed by the second.]

You need to go. You can't let them catch you here.
axiomed: (Falling start is your guiding light)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-16 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Wrath, calm down. We're in your mind.

[ He doubts any kind of force or program could hurt him here. However, he was starting to feel the tail end's of exhaustion and fatigue. ]
pain_train: (what the fudge just happened)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-17 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[...wait what?

But she immediately trusts what Charles says, even if she has no idea why.]

...oh.

[She looks around, coughs, spits out another mouthful of honey.]

...my mind sucks.
axiomed: (By the end of the day)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-17 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
[ . . . Yeah that's fair. ]

C'mon, on your feet.
pain_train: (understanding)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-17 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Okay.

[She peels herself off the floor. It's not the most pleasant sound in the world. Her hair is matted and heavy with honey still.]

What are you doing here?
axiomed: (What turns we missed)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-17 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
You sort of went . . . quiet. I think the taste of honey started the, ah, program in your mind. It should be fine now.
pain_train: (are you fudgeing serious)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-17 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
[She staggers a few steps like she's remembering how to walk, then steadies.]

Oh... I don't remember.

...did you fix it?

[This entire situation is bizarre.]
axiomed: (The days and nights)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-17 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
I . . . believe I have. You need to wake up and we'll know.
pain_train: (tying hair back)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-07-17 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay.

...how do I wake up? [She's never really been in a state like this before that she could wake up from. It hadn't worked that way in Proles, or here. ]
