[some people might contact their friends when they're planetside, because it's normal and makes sense. And then there's Tempest, who immediately forgets she can even do that and only realizes it once she's free to explore.

Which isn't a big deal; she likes exploring, and the people are overwhelming but nothing but kind. When she sees Charles she politely maneuvers her way from the crowd, her own thoughts a quiet buzz just beneath the surface.

She approaches from behind and rests a hand on his shoulder, leaning over to kiss his cheek in greeting; her feelings are as quiet as her thoughts, but warm and pleased and a little excited, and just a bit nervous and wary]

Hello, dear.

[ He smiles, looking up. ]

Hello. All settled in then?

[her armor clinks quietly as she steps to the side, kneeling down to speak to him face to face]

Not a bit. As soon as they freed me I fled here.

Well, when one finds herself surrounded by children most of the time . . . [does she mean her team? Her group back home? It's very likely both]

[she sits back on her heels, and it goes to show how much she doesn't care about the planet's effects when she moves to rest her hands on one of his, smiling] I have said it a number of times already, but I have missed you.

There was no one to read with back home. The lot I travel with are dreadfully boring.

[she says, as if she had the time to stop and read]

Which reminds me. Remember that terrible book you found once?

[she quoted some of it at her cousin and thoroughly embarrassed him, it was wonderful]

[ He clears his throat. ] There are sequels apparently.
