axiomed: (What brought us to this)

[ He rubs his chin. ]

I vaguely recall that. But why would I use that and not -- [ He waves his hand close to his head to gesture at his mind. ]
brainiest: (friendly conversation)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-17 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
When I was given it as a boon I showed you it, and I think you were curious about how it worked. It's not too different from telepathy, except it feels like I'm there in the memory as I watch it. Just invisible.
axiomed: (I couldn't give you all)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-17 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
So it's like a projection . . . I was testing that out with Hank a month ago.
brainiest: (dumbass pedestrians)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-18 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
A little bit, I suppose, except you're projected into the memory, rather than someone projecting themselves. You can see everything that happened and - well, it's obvious that sometimes people can jump to conclusions. I mostly used it to help clear my mind sometimes.
axiomed: (Pictures in your head at night)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-19 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Fascinating . . . [ He trails off. It sounded close to what he was attempting with Hank, bringing the memory to the forefront, like being the actor on a movie set. ]

Clear your mind how?
brainiest: (that is the ugliest effin' skirt)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-19 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She wishes she had it with her, but she supposes her lioness form is as good a trade off as a Pensieve. ]

Oh! Um, I can put memories in there and they're not gone, but it's harder to remember them. It makes my mind a little bit less tangled up, I think.
axiomed: (You mean nothing to me anymore)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-20 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Like . . . a different perspective.

[ The memory shards behaved in such a way, though they were still entrenched in the feelings of the person. ]
brainiest: (what's up)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-20 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly, it's just like that. It's nice to have a break from how crowded my mind can get sometimes.
axiomed: (Save them from the madness)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ He tilts his head, considering before he nods. ]

It certainly sounds useful.
brainiest: (you're not helping harry)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
Memories and thoughts were very powerful in the Drabwurld. There were stories about how shardholders in the past could use their shards to manipulate people's thoughts and memories, winning wars like that - it was vile, and terrifying. I'm glad I can just look at mine, thank you.
axiomed: (When simply being was easy)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't know they were that powerful. I imagine just looking is enough for anybody.
brainiest: (the dog died)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
You would think that, but - some people aren't happy with just looking.
axiomed: (Love needles in the hay)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He briefly recalls Eris and her cloying touch. No, people weren't easily satisfied. ]

No. There's always that propensity to wanting more.
brainiest: (sunshine daisies)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I was there for, I think. To try and make sure that didn't happen.

[ Even if she did accidentally piss off giant scary men called 'Man-Eater' so much that they cursed her.

At least she tried. ]
axiomed: (Why am I supposed to excuse you?)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems you took on a lot. I know you had help but it seemed like you had to place yourself above many things.
brainiest: please don't take! (chin up buttercup)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I was a Marchioness.

[ To her, it was that simple. ]

If I didn't help people then who would?
axiomed: (You say it's worth it all)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[ It was such a . . . Charles thing to say that he had no response, save to sit there quietly. ]
brainiest: (no seriously i do)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She hesitates for a moment before she leans back, her eyes flickering over his face... And then she smiles. ]

I told you we got along.
axiomed: (Expected to be)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I can certainly see how.

[ It was mildly exhilarating . . . and terrifying. ]
brainiest: (happy.mp3)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It's why I thought you might make a good Second. I think... You understood me, but you also knew when to stop me from going too far.

[ Being able to empathise and understand someone, even without having telepathy herself - that had been amazing, and for the first time Hermione had felt as though she had someone who just knew her, even when Charles wasn't dipping into her mind. ]
axiomed: (You mean nothing to me anymore)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure you did the same for him as well.

[ And he's a hard man to stop. Charles is no less stubborn than Erik, it simply lends itself to a different point of view. ]
brainiest: (makes no sense but ok)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe. I did stop him from trying to telepathically control undead monsters once - does that count?

[ Instead she waved bits of gold in their faces and stood defending Charles with a sword. ]
axiomed: (Among the shadows)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Close enough. Though now I'm tempted to try.

[ It's strange to be experimenting with his telepathy - to have avenues where he could do such a thing. His trust in Hank is unquestionable. It's the trust in himself that's been shaken so badly. ]
brainiest: (and ??)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-22 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Do not try! They were horrible, honestly, Charles, don't make me have to come and stop you again.

[ Tilting her head up, she smiles. ]

I don't think we'll come across any here, but - I don't have any gold with me.
axiomed: (Just having you there)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-07-22 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would the undead want gold or should I just forego that line of inquiry when it comes to magical worlds beyond my ken?
