There's an awkward tone there, an unspoken nervous laugh.

"I'm still getting used to this being social thing"

Parties were easy to throw, without getting close. He's got better at it in his time away from home, but back there...he's still pretty bad at it. ]

["You don't? That's... that really means a lot, Cheesy."

It does; SHE'S still getting used to the "somepony liking me as something more than a friend" thing, but it certainly feels amazing, like the warm air inside the biggest, most brightly colored hot air balloon ever. Maybe... maybe there was some hope they'd see each other again, then. And then maybe that would jumpstart more memories of their time here. Of their relationship too...

"You're doing GREAT at it, though. Especially with Nami's party, and with all the friends you're making here. I'm proud of you."

And in a way, she understands a bit BECAUSE the opposite was true for her. Because for quite a while, parties were the ONLY way she could get close to others. Sure she had some good friends around Ponyville, but aside from her sisters and the Cakes, not a lot that she hung out with OUTSIDE of parties. Not until she met the girls, really.]

[After all, Equestrian magic works in strange ways, even for earth ponies. They could still have a chance. It's a hope he holds on to very dearly, with everything he has. Just this once let something GOOD come from being trapped in places like this. Just once.

"You really think? I mean, I try my best, but some of it is just weird for me to get used to. Helping people cheer up and smile is one thing, but what do you do when they just need to be sad for a while? That's the toughest part for me."

And he wasn't kidding. It's not like he had a lot of comfort, growing up, he hasn't really got much of a basis to rest it on. He just keeps trying things and seeing what sticks best. ]

"It depends on the po-- well, person. So seeing what sticks is a sound strategy."

A second more of stillness... and he might feel her get the impulse a second before she acts on it, but-- oh. Yup, that's a kiss on his cheek as she pulls away just enough to look at him, eyes sparkling.]

Well that's a thing that sure happened.

He really, honestly wasn't expecting it, and he kind of just...stares off into the middle distance with a weird, albeit goofy smile on his face.

She might not get anything out of him right away. ]

[He continues to stare off into space before blinking (a little unevenly) before shaking his head clear again. ]

[Now SHE'S blushing up a storm and grinning like a doof. First time romantically kissing anypony and just on the cheek, after all, it's not like she expected him to like it THIS much.]

[And he realises he should probably...do more than that, even if he's TERRIFIED and ECSTATIC at the same time. It's a weird feeling, to be completely honest. Like riding a rollercoaster. Without breaks.

So, a touch hesitantly at first, he leans forward and presses a small kiss on her cheek. Hahha wow he did it now he can just...die. Yep.

Wait, what's that? [A pause as Pinkie lends an ear to the... very silent gator, okay.] He says one second he was in Ponyville riding his favorite lint ball and the next he's stuck in a branch in a forest and getting lowered to the ground!
