Who: Leliana w/ cameo from one mabari pup
Broadcast: Yes!
Action: aboard the Blue Fish
When: Now!
[Have a mabari pup, people! Kiter is very excited that Leliana has been taking care of him, though she is having trouble contending with all the puppy drool. Don't mind her as she pulls a face while he tries to chew her cowl.]
Kiter, sit.
[Nope. Not gonna happen - you are not the master, Leliana.]
Maker, this pup... you're a naughty one, no?
[Going to just put a hand a top his head while she tries to stay in view of the feed, smiling a bit to herself. She really does have a weakness for animals.]
For anyone who it might concern of the Thedasian variety or otherwise - Lady Riona Cousland is indisposed for an unforeseeable amount of time. She won't wake up no matter what I try.
[She drew on your face - you're welcome, Riona.]
For now this young one is my charge until she returns to good health. If anyone seeks to ask questions they may do so here or find me in the Interfaith Center or aboard the Blue Fish.
[Though she's going to have to find someone to babysit Kiter when she has to leave him. Maker this pup is hyper.]

That's...worrying.
I'll head back to the ship and have a look at her. Hopefully, she's just fallen under the deep slumber people in the fleet do occasionally.
Video
[And thus someone will see that Leliana drew nugs and things on her face... excellent.]
Video
Of course. [It already looks like he's packing up to be on his way] How long has she been out?
Video
[Smart mabari, honestly. A good one too when he listened.]
She is in her quarters sound asleep whenever you find a moment to come aboard the Blue Fish.
[And Leliana will be waiting, loitering around the halls with Kiter standing guard with her.]
Video
[Sorry, must always take a moment to gush about dogs]
Okay, I'll be there soon!

As a Ferelden born and raised, if you need any help with the mabari I gladly offer my aid. They can be a bit of a handful sometimes.

[She smiles, glad to see a familiar face offering - though she and Hawke only ever spoke briefly she can't help but feel an attachment to this Hawke. The one she knew was a woman and looked exactly like her so it stood to reason they were perhaps one in the same, though Leliana was learning not to make assumptions so quickly. It didn't hurt that she also wasn't telling the Queen of Ferelden things like Alistair dying and such. That certainly won her brownie points.]
The Kiter I knew was larger and more trained, though he had a fondness of going through Morrigan's things.
[Said a little too happily. Ah how she dislikes Morrigan... but she's still glad to see that motherhood has changed her so.]

From experience? No, they tend to be mischievous. My mother likened having a mabari like raising a fourth child.
[ Lothering never really knew peace the day Dog entered their family, the mabari bonding quickly to Hawke much to her brother's chargin. It somehow only made her that much more of a terror to any children who dared to pick on her siblings. ]
Ha! Dog had the same kind of fondness though she didn't have a Witch of the Wilds to terrorize, only my brother Carver. [ She grins, beams. ] Never took Carver's things far, though, but I guess it was his way of telling him that he loved him.
Carver never really got over the fact Dog bonded with me rather than him.

[She smiles a bit fondly, though there's a hint of sadness. The poor girl - she'd heard about it from Varric when he'd been grilled for information about Hawke in their attempt to make the Champion their Inquisitor.]
Oh, but Mabari are definitely smart in that regard. They know who the safer bet is, I'm sure. You probably had better treats to offer.

[Falling asleep and not waking up is a little worrying.]
Is she sick?
Video
[It was worrying and at first she'd been worried but then she decided to make it less worrying by drawing on her face. Oh she would pay for that when Riona woke again.]
Video
That's disturbing.
[And since there's nothing for him to do except worry, it's time to turn that worry into a joke!]
How dare she make us worry. I hope you've seen to some sort of suitable punishment such as hiding her favorite shoes or playing with her make-up or something.
Video
Oh, I think I found a suitable punishment.
[Spoken while bringing the camera back to her grinning face.]

[It made sense. Better sense than any other reasons she had for why this had happened.]
How long have you been in the fleet? If you don't mind my asking.

[Have an Adalwolfe Hawke with a sympathetic smile and a sleeping puppy in his lap that looks to be made up of just one giant fat wrinkle.]
If you'd like, Kiter and Ser Drools could work off their energy together.
[More brownie points with Riona, maybe, when she wakes up. If she wakes up. He can't help but let a bit of worry creep into his expression, even if Lady Nightingale doesn't look very worried herself. Maybe that's good? Or maybe she hides it well. She is a spymaster, and a better one than Varric by the dwarf's own admission. That likely comes with putting on a show.]
I have to ask, though, do you know if she'll be alright?
[Which might sound strange coming from him, what with Riona's general dislike for him even after bonding a bit over dogs on the beach, but she's from home and he has a kind heart. The last thing he wants is for something bad to befall her.]
Video
[She can gather from the fact that he knows what a Mabari is that he's from Thedas. He's not someone she recognizes be it her own experience or Cassandra's files on Hawke. The only logical conclusion was that this would be the other Hawke that Riona had told her of.
With a free hand she rakes her fingers through Kiter's fur while he makes himself at home on her lap. The other holds her device. She isn't sure where to even begin with this one - should she even bother bringing up Riona? Though technically it was fair game given the topic of discussion being her Mabari.]
Oh, there's plenty of room for him to work off energy on the planet surface and in the halls of the ship - my largest concern is his care should I be needed in the Interfaith Center. Marian Hawke has offered her services to me, luckily enough. It seems she beat you to the punch on that one, no?
[Playing with another hound would be all well and good but she wasn't able to trust him. She didn't know him and what she did know made her wary. It didn't hurt that she was wary by nature, of course. It only doubled with Riona in the state she was in. She wasn't even sure how wise it was leaving the hound with Hawke, but then Marian was the Hawke she remembered - save for a few differences.]
I've been told by various sources that this is a common occurrence. Fenris assured me that it should not be terribly long - though the longest would be a month. How that impacts her health remains to be seen.

[There's unbridled affection in his voice, gilded around the edges with a sorrow that only loss can provide. He chuckles at Leliana's sharing of Marian's offer, a little helplessly.]
It would seem so. She's faster than me, apparently. Don't tell her though, I doubt she'd let me live it down if she knew I'd admitted it.
[A bit of a playful smirk spreads on his face with that, though he seems just as appraising of Leliana as she is of him. He knows exactly why the rogue is turning him down and it has very little to do with Marian offering first. Mostly this is why he'd been avoiding her; he had the feeling she already had her mind made up about him based solely on Riona's ill first impression, even if his relationship with Her Majesty is very slowly but surely turning more amiable. Or at least cordial.
Or it was, anyway.]
A common occurrence? That's worrisome. Does anyone who's woken up from something like this before have any ill effects?

[Even if some might call the Inquisiton blasphemy at best and an outright declaration of war at worst. They didn't exactly play by Orlais or Ferelden's rules at times. Orlais saw use in them for military forces and Ferelden saw a force too great to be contained, not that she blamed the latter.
Folding her hands beneath her chin, she allows the ghost of a smile. Already she sensed the gears turning in his head. Was he nervous that she favored Lady Hawke to him? Good. She liked making people nervous. It was part of her job, after all. Though this might be more for personal pleasure than work related matters.]
I hope you aren't too disappointed? I'm sure will be plenty of opportunity to visit with Kiter when Her Majesty is well again. He won't be venturing too far from her, given their bond. Hawke is only a temporary measure while I carry out my own duties.
[Kiter was the picture of loyalty. He'd come to Leliana first thing when he sensed something was amiss because he knew she would be the best equipped to find a solution, even if she did not have one at hand immediately. Riona trusted her implicitly.]
As far as I've been told, there should not be anything wrong with her when she is awake again. I trust Fenris at his word. He doesn't seem the sort to leave out important details in times like this, no?
[She gives him a look as if to say 'you should know since he's supposed to be your friend'. She has no idea the relationship he and Fenris have and she's not like to ask. Hopefully Riona was the only one to receive bad news from him.]
