[Finn slaps some encryption on the line, which kills his anonymous function but it's Kitty and he knows her, so he figures it's okay.]

"hey captain rogers there is a guy named general hux who is basically a space nazi he blew up an entire star system multiple planets and killed a lot of people and he's talking big here about continuing to work on his projects thought you should know"

[Well, hello there, Finn. Though the writing lack-of-style already had her guessing in that direction.]

Steve would be very familiar with nazis. It's a good way to get his attention. Do you know this Hux person?

hes from my time and hes a terrible person hes a military leader who uses conditioned soldiers to rule through fear and he blew up an entire inhabited star system because one of the planets on it had a government he didnt like even though there were tens of millions of civilians

[She switches to video which she keeps encrypted. She doesn't have the proper augments but Kurt is on her ship with the communications augment and damnit she never had any trouble hacking or encrypting before this augment nonsense. But it doesn't feel like conversation to write out. It's also a little painful to read the way he writes it out.]

[There is a moment of surprise before it all becomes more clear than it had been. The way he seemed secretive at times or spoke about certain topics. It fit.]

Oh. [Softly.] Are you okay? [She can tell it's not something he wanted or something he's proud of. She doesn't need to make him feel more guilty about it.]

[He'd wanted it well enough, as it was the only option ever presented to him - until he realized what it really meant. And then he'd ditched it as soon as he could.

His grimace gets stronger. One of the steps of his Jedi mentoring is that he's supposed to be honest about his emotions, too.] I'd be more okay if he wasn't here at all. I'm not exactly a fan of nazis myself. [Not that it especially sounds like the nazis to her so far.]

[That's very nice of her to say, even if she doesn't really know Hux at all. So Finn's expression relaxes a bit.] I--thanks. I'll try to remember.

Based on what I heard about them? I can't blame you for that. They sound like exactly the kind of people you want to keep as far away from as possible.

[That's a good point, but the facts would be even less impressive to her than the unknown.]

They're from a pretty recent history to most Earth people here, and they killed a lot of people for really stupid reasons like what they look like or where their ancestors were from.

My people were one of the groups they targeted, but it was before I was born. Does the First Order target people like that? Based on religion and ethnicity or something specific?

[He shakes his head.]

Politics. There's a side of human supremacism, but that has more to do with who gets in command than anything else. That said, even being loosely connected to someone with the "wrong" politics can be a death sentence--like, living on the same planet.

[His posture seems to relax a little.]

We'd taken a Resistance pilot as a prisoner, so I broke him out and we escaped together.

[Just the mention of her brings out that soft smile of his.]

Poe, actually. Didn't meet Rey till the ship we stole crash-landed on her planet and I got lost.

So... Are you a clone? [Omg, Kitty. You can't just ask people if they're clones.]

[He shakes his head.] Hux actually argued against clones - said it was better to use soldiers conditioned from birth. There hasn't been a sizeable clone army since General Kenobi's time. Too costly.
