[ Obi-Wan tends to drag his heels when it comes to being on the Huntress. Most of the original crew, save for Mikleo and Sorey, have gone and while he'd never fully admit it, the losses have been felt. Still, he is a consummate professional and makes sure everything in the cockpit is secure and working well. Obi-Wan may not enjoy piloting, but he continues to put in effort in his efficiency.

So he spends a lot of time in the cockpit of the Huntress. On occasion, when it is very quiet, he'll take out his guitar and strum a few tunes, humming quietly as he does. Otherwise Obi-Wan wanders around the ship, making sure everything is in working order. It's a habit he's picked up since things on the Huntress seem to be constantly breaking. ]

[Yeah. Returning to Sorey's domain isn't as refreshing as it used to be, though Dezel isn't really sure why. He thinks it's himself and his problems that are forming a distance between them. Sorey would obviously feel better if Dezel just... stopped being a constant reminder of what they all lost.

Dezel scoffs at the very unhelpful remark.]

You and Sorey.

Why here?

[It's an honest question. Sometimes Atroma transfers people, but sometimes they can do the paperwork. Dezel was the latter. He was fleeing a demon, though, so no one can really blame him.]

[Well Sora doesn't mind the happy! Or the offer of stew. In fact he is not at all concerned of taking offered food from strangers!!]

[Oh hey! Someone's talking to him! He'll stop what he's doing and turn to smile at Obi-wan like he's TOTALLY INNOCENT]

[ Faintly wryly. ]

Nothing much, just contemplating futility. Dare I ask what the machine did to deserve such treatment?

[Sora, being Sora, has no idea what futility means so he's just gonna assume it's some Jedi philosophy thing. Sure.]

Not much. Just apparently it's been making weird klunky noises- so I was trying to fix it!

Not really. We have forms, just like anyone else, and we don't shapeshift or anything like that. Most people lack the resonance to see us, that's all.

[Well Sora's not afraid to approach the ominous figure in the hallway, so here to ruin his creepy demeanor is this kid who just walks up and starts talking to him]

Hey. What's up?

Perhaps we should take a better look at it before we destroy it.

[ Humour him. ]

[Ah... yeah. About that. Mikleo shifts uncomfortably, staring down at his book so he doesn't have to look Dezel in the eye. He's blind, but somehow he can... scrutinize. And the subject is uncomfortable enough that he can't deal with that right now.]

...I don't know. We fought... I don't even remember what it was about. It wasn't that important. But he won't really talk to me, now. Not like usual.

[And that stings, more than he wants to admit. He doesn't know what to do with all of these doubts he keeps feeling, and the unsettling atmosphere he's beginning to notice around himself. What is he supposed to do when he can't tell the one person who gets him?]

He's the first mate. They have a duty to ease the burden of their commanding officer, do they not?

Well, okay. [Obi-wan is pretty smart and all. He lowers the wrench. FOR NOW.] You know anything 'bout washers?

I'm not a terrible mechanic. Thankfully.

[ Like many of the skills Obi-Wan has accumulated, he doesn't care for them but he maintains his standards. With Anakin around, he rarely bothers but Obi-Wan isn't too shabby.

Carefully, he pries over the wiring panel to take a look. ]

What?

[That's. Not what he was expecting. He came down here to ask if Mikleo knew why Sorey had been so distant, since it was bad enough that Mikleo was worrying about (and therefore worrying Zaveid), but-- they fought? Mikleo and Sorey sometimes argue but he's never seen a full on fight. He wasn't there for that.

A part of him doesn't want to get involved. He could still take a step back and not give a damn, and everything would be fine-- for him, at least. But another, more insistent part of him is reminded of Mikleo's words on the handholding planet, and Dezel knows he can't run forever. This is his problem. The Shepherd's problems are his problems, and that includes if he's conflicting with his seraphim.

Damn it.]

... It's not just you. He hasn't spoken more than a few words to anyone.

[He thinks he might be able to guess about what they fought over. He's kinda off the mark, though, as it turns out.]

Maybe it's finally sinking in that there are some things he just can't help with. Seraph problems and human problems are different, after all.
