Does anyone have any apples or honey or anything close to either from the last stop? I was...just thinking about it today. [Softer.] Not that I even know how to tell when sundown is in space.

[But she knows it's close to Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, but nailing down a date would take calculating she can't do based on a moon that's not even here. She's not really a religious person and has some definite issues with god especially after everything she's been through back home, but the traditions remind her of better times when she was young with her family. She didn't think about it much in the last place because they didn't run off of a calendar she was familiar with, but here it brings back memories.]

Anyway, I'd trade for some if you do. We'll work something out.

Leshana tovah. [She's wishing people a good year in Hebrew, but she doesn't bother explaining the meaning.]

[ he's still counting on that new year's kiss at midnight. it feels like so long ago when he blurted the idea and freaked her out and now...they're almost there. if he has any say in the matter, they'll finish every year together. ]

[No freaking out now. Of course she wants to kiss him on that New Year's Eve too. Not that she wouldn't kiss him for this one!] Yeah? I think you might be right. Mostly because you're going to be there.

I'm definitely right, [ he smiles, a smug little smile ] I'm kind of brilliant, you know.

I still don't know how I managed to stop kissing you in that supply closet. I wanted to kiss you in your cargo bay before that.

[ if only he wasn't wearing his kiss-blocking cardigan. it's a painful reminder of reid. does he still remind her of him? he has to wonder. ]

I was so confused when you left. [ chuckling at his own cluelessness. ]

[She had already forgotten what stopped her or she wouldn't have brought it up. There are times when a situation reminds her of something that happened with Reid or Piotr. Usually if it's something she's worried is a warning sign, but that has more to do with PTSD than missing them. She sees Winn when she looks at Winn.]

Had to keep you on your toes. [She leans in to kiss him now.] Making up for lost time.

[ he returns the kiss lovingly. ]

I'm always on my toes. [ usually, it's to get things off high shelves. he smiles. ] Should we cut the apple a particular way?

Into tiny Christmas tree shapes. I know. It's not what you'd think. [Teasing.]

[ he looks at her for a moment, before nodding. ]

Challenge accepted. I hope you have a lot of these cuz it's gonna take some practice rounds -

[She laughs, leaning in to kiss him.] Maybe when we aren't working on borrowed apples. Slices are fine.

Aye aye, Captain!

[ he salutes and slices an apple, and fetches a little bowl for the honey. ]

Yes, you have to talk about how pretty and smart and great I am. [Sorry. Did you want her to take this seriously?]

So every year at this time, all the jews of the world get together to discuss the wonder that is Kitty Pryde?

[ he pauses, then nods, super serious. ]

I buy it.

[She smiles warmly. Lovingly.]

Exactly right. Besides, me and got aren't really on speaking terms so I'm not that worried about ceremony. [Which is going to be a little uneven and random since the tradition has meaning for her, but only as her family practiced it. But for now the apples and honey are enough.]

I was always of the 'if he's there, he's got too much to do to care about ceremonies' mind.

[ okay he's more of the 'if there's life above the sky it's just aliens' mind but it never hurts to keep an open mind, right?

he hands her a slice of apple, picks one up himself, and clinks them as if they were glasses. ]

Also good points. [She wouldn't be offended. Kurt is a rather intense atheist and with good reason. He was treated very ungodly ways by the church.]

smiling, he dips his apple in honey and takes a bite. ]

I'm glad you like it. [She smiles warmly at him.] I felt silly for doing all this, but I'm glad I did.

There's nothing wrong with being a little silly sometimes. [ he boops her nose ] But I don't think this was silly, I'm really glad you did too.

[ it's good to remember the people they love, the good times, and he feels happy and privileged to get to share in her happy memories. ]

Thanks for doing it with me. I'm sure it was a heavy burden to eat fresh fruit and honey. [She teases, but it does mean a lot to her.]

[ he feels like he should be preparing something but. ]
