Throughout the month, members aboard the Tourist might notice subtle(ish) decorations going up. A paper garland of candied apples here, some adorable paper Jack-O-Lanterns there... The ship was destined to be a Pinterest board the moment Kara was brought on it. Sorry not sorry. ]

Hey yourself. [ he's a little anxious to see her, because he has something uncomfortable to tell her, but it's pushed aside for the moment. ] How was your day? [ he really hopes she had a good one. okay he always hopes she has a good one but this is a I-possible-have-upsetting-news sort of scenario where you extra-hope that the person you're about to deliver them to is in a forgiving mood.

[She settles down comfortably besides him. Shifting a few things carefully to the side so as not to disturb his process too much.] Good. Had a nice work out and found an interesting book in the library.

[Her fingers go to his active ones, giving them a soft stroke.] You? Too much coffee and other assorted beverages?

What book? [ 1. he's a coward and is stalling. 2. he's genuinely interested. ]

[ he wraps an arm lightly around her. getting his hands under control, his foot starts tapping. he's really wired, and the nerves aren't helping. ]

It's...mostly the caffeine. I also have to tell you something.

Okay so, it wasn't really on purpose I mean - I wasn't exactly taking precautions against it or anything but I didn't dial his personal number either but - have you seen Hank's broadcast? He's out on the ship with Erik and, well I talked to Hank, and I also talked to Erik. But he was perfectly -- well, I wouldn't exactly say pleasant, but he answered my questions and he was polite and I was probably weirding him out because well you know what I'm like and if you're not used to it - [ all said really quickly ]

[He rambles over even his question to her so she just sits and listens and lets him finish or at least approach finishing. Then she kisses his cheek softly.] Hey, you can talk to Erik. Not that you need me to tell you that. [Except it really sounds like he does. But she means she wouldn't tell him not to talk to someone. At least she doesn't think she would.]

I just didn't wanna make things weirder between the two of you, or make you worry, or, I dunno. I don't have to talk to him if you rather I don't it's just, well, it kinda just happened so I went with it.

[ between erik and kitty - of course he'll always choose kitty. at least she doesn't seem angry, that's a relief. ]

Oh, I doubt anything could make things weirder. It's pretty weird. [She threads her fingers through his hair gently.]

I, um... [Trying to gather her thoughts here.] I was worried about you maybe being there in person, but I don't think I needed to be. Worry sometimes works when it's not needed too.

I don't think Hank would be letting it go if he thought Erik was a danger to people here. [Hank could always have things wrong or trust too much when he shouldn't, but she definitely wants to believe it. If he was SURE there was a problem then she's sure he'd be doing something at the very least.]

And if anyone would be a positive reminder for him of the good in humanity it would be you.

I know Hank wouldn't.

[ but he also knows that feelings don't always listen to logic, and her feelings are more important to him than his ability to speak to this guy who probably things there's something seriously wrong with him, counting be the amount of pauses he took in their short conversation.

or maybe he was just as uncomfortable, for the same reason. who knows.

he smiles warmly. ]

I love that you have so much faith in me. [ it gives him something to strive towards - and a warm fuzzy feeling inside. it's a good balance to the times where he feels like his humanity makes all his friends look down on him. ]

You've given me every reason to. [She doesn't look down on him. She might be overly protective because of it, but he's her partner. She knows what he can do and she believes in him.]

Did he...say anything about me?

[ he shakes his head. ]

He just answered a couple questions about the ship and we introduced ourselves, it was a short conversation, you know they were out exploring, they needed to be alert and we were - being really awkward. [ he lets a little awkward laughter there. so very awkward. ]

Good to know it isn't just me. [Soft smile.]

He would know who you were if you mentioned your name. He might have seen you at my party too. Hank might have mentioned you too. [But Kitty fails at keeping her bf on the dl. All the mentions to people.]

Yeah, there was an oh moment there, once I said my name.

[ he nods, he's really the last to mind. he's surrounded by people who like him enough to talk about him? (as long as they're saying nice things) yay. ]

Of course she says nice things. She likes this guy.]

Why so nervous telling me?

I didn't know how you would take it cuz of the whole human thing.

[ so awkward right now. foot tapping intensifies. ]

[She reaches over and puts a hand on his knee.] Are you still nervous?

I drank a lot of coffee I'm trying to finish this animatronics for the haunted house and I still gotta make a bunch of costumes speaking of which we gotta figure one out for you -

[ yes, he's still nervous ]

[Rubbing that knee because it's a lot of words quickly and he still seems nervous. Did she not handle it well enough?] Wait, what now? Costume? Haunted House?

Halloween! Cisco and I are throwing a party - did I not tell you that? [ frown. the caffeine may be eating at his brain. ]
