Why'd You Kill the Merchant?!
Who: ALL O' Y'ALL
Broadcast: If you want
Action: FRICK YEAH PARTY AT THE JUNKYARD...I mean, Waystation. Junkstation.
When: 10/07 - Event End
It looks more like a junk heap than a waystation, but luckily there aren't any math fetishists to add you to the pile (hopefully). Talk to the scavengers and heed their warnings...if you want. Or perhaps you'll approach a shady individual for purchasing or selling stuff.
"Welcome, stranger!"

[Kaylee was awestruck, but she moved toward her protector anyway, staring at the man who'd almost attacked her... now facedown in a pile of rubble and not moving.]
I'm glad you can, but I ain't never seen anything like it.

[Which he expects to send her running. He wouldn't be surprised, anyway. Many people he's rescued with magic still thought of him as just as bad by virtue of being a mage. It hasn't been the case in the fleet, but it's hard to break years of experience.
Doesn't mean he isn't going to try and be friendly though, at least.]
Are you alright?

[She still sounds awestruck, but looks a lot less shaken.]
Yeah. Ain't never seen any magic yet, but I heard it exists. I just... needed to see it with my own eyes, I suppose. Pretty great...

I can do all sorts of other things with it too. Why don't we get somewhere a bit safer and I could show you? Pretty girls shouldn't be alone in a place like this, you know.

Well now, how could I say no to such a polite request? Especially after you was kind enough to be my magician in shining armor.

[He guides her gently back towards the main parts of the station where it's more crowded and less likely to have anyone just grabbing people with so many witnesses.]
Where you're from must be quite safe if you normally feel so secure wandering around alone.

[Kaylee laughed.]
Not especially, but I got tough people who know their way around a fight within callin' distance most of the time back home. I... I guess I got distracted looking for them, and at all the salvage, and forgot they wasn't here to look after me.

[He can't imagine being so at home in space of all places as to forget where you are and think you're back home at the back your mind while distracted.]

Suppose you could call me that, but it's not speech, it's more like... I've always had a gift for figurin' things out. I can look at a ship and just see right away what's wrong with it. I know how things is supposed to look and sound, so when something's wrong or off balance or not working right, I can tell that right away.

[He totally just made that up, be impressed.]

[He likes her smile, it's infectious.]

[Weird that he hasn't really looked at communications as a job until right that second, just a thing he can now do because of the augment.]

[He thrusts his thumb back behind them, indicating the guy he'd knocked out as a reference.]
