Why'd You Kill the Merchant?!

Who: ALL O' Y'ALL
Broadcast: If you want
Action: FRICK YEAH PARTY AT THE JUNKYARD...I mean, Waystation. Junkstation.
When: 10/07 - Event End

It looks more like a junk heap than a waystation, but luckily there aren't any math fetishists to add you to the pile (hopefully). Talk to the scavengers and heed their warnings...if you want. Or perhaps you'll approach a shady individual for purchasing or selling stuff.

"Welcome, stranger!"

[Neither did Remy. Anything that including harming kids instantly set him on edge, and he had seen first hand what kid smuggling rings were like. No one deserved to go through that.] I know it may not be smart to 'nterfere too much with this place, since we only passin' through 'nd once we gone this is just goin' to be normal life for them all again... but might be nice to leave a more permanent 'mpression on these guys to make second guess doin' something like this.

Got a plan? [Because if Al didn't, there was a chance Remy was going to beat these guys black and blue.]
sonofgold: (listening)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-10-16 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Al nodded, looking around.] Plenty of cables around here for me to transmute ropes out of. Feel like trying to lasso some creeps?
cajunspice: (>D)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-10-20 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Lasso, hein? Can't say it's something 've had a go at before, but hey, always up for tryin' new things. [It was a little different from what Remy had planned to do, but maybe a better option. Tying these goons up would result in less injuries than just going in and kicking their collective asses, and also hopefully give time for the kid to get away.] Will follow ya lead then.
sonofgold: By <user name=nirnroot site=plurk.com> (transmutation)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-10-20 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Good for tripping people up and causing distruption. ["Less injuries" was definitely Al's plan. He'd always hated to cause unnecessary bloodshed, even when it came to criminals. So without further ado, he clapped his hands and transmuted the cable scraps on the ground into a lengthy cable with a stiff hook on the end, then threw it toward the men, grabbing one's ankle and pulling him to the ground.]
cajunspice: (>B))

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-10-26 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
[That was certainly an interesting technique, not one Remy had come across before (transmute, hein?), but certainly reminded him a little of telekinetics, at least with this application of it. As his gaze followed Al's actions, Remy shifted his stance and allowed a deck of cards to drop into his palm from the arm of his coat, but didn't move to show them off as a weapon just yet. He was use to thugs like this, that liked to pick on those who couldn't defend themselves, and he seriously doubted they were going to back down just by one of them getting tripped up. Different places, same goons.

Instead, he raised his voice to get the rest of their attention.]
I suggest movin' away from the kid. Will be the smartest thing ya done today.
sonofgold: (the lord is testing me)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-10-26 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[In response, the thugs looked at Al and Remy, cursing as they helped their friend up and began moving towards the two of them. A few of them brandished weapons- knives, a chain, but nothing else Al could see. In response, Al found a nearby pipe and clapped his hands again, shaping the pipe into a spear of sorts, with a very sharp-looking pointed end.]

Moving towards us isn't a good idea, either. Back off now, or we'll make sure you're sorry before sending you packing.
cajunspice: (charge)

sorry for lateness in answering

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-11-03 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Allowing a single card to show between his fingers, Remy threw a charge into it before holding it up so the goons could see it, hoping it would be a deterrent. If it wasn't then Remy had to figure out a way to get in there and get the kid out of the way, or...

Keeping his voice low, he spoke to Al.]
Think ya can pull that kid out of the way with that cable if things get a bit explosive? [Remy wouldn't kill the attackers, just give them a few injuries to remember them by.]
sonofgold: (confident)

<3

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-11-03 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Al noticed the glowing card, wondering briefly what it was- a form of alchemy? some sort of explosive? But he had little time to wonder before his attention was diverted back to the problem at hand, and he spun his makeshift spear before winding the cord around his wrist.]

Definitely. Could you hold them off on your own?
cajunspice: (card charging)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-11-08 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
I think I might be able to manage. [Though Remy was a little sad to be without his old bo staves, those having been lost many planets ago along with his beloved trench coat. And his replacement staves weren't exactly subtle weapons, having been left back on the Wonderduck.

Throwing out the card he had charged, Remy angled it in such a way to disarm one of the knife holders, strong enough to sting and leave a decent burn but not enough to take off a limb. Using the unexpected explosion as a distraction, Remy surged forward, a foot kicking out to break the grasp of another's hold on their weapon before striking an elbow into the same goon's jaw.]
sonofgold: (killing you with my brain)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-11-08 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Al watched the card fly, impressed with the way it so easily disarmed one of the goons. He'd have to ask about that later, for sure.

But there was another time for that. Al blocked a downswinging knife thrust from another punk, yelling at the child-]

Run! Get someplace safe!

[-before smartly dodging the next few attacks, like Izumi had taught him so long ago, then when his opponent lunged, using his own momentum against him in a throw into a nearby stall. Soon the man was flat on his back, stunned, as Al ducked a punch from behind.

Thankfully, the child was sneaking away on his own.]

Come on, you all can do better than that!
cajunspice: (say what - eye glow)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-11-13 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Maybe it wasn't the best idea to taunt these guys, no doubt it would only make them angrier, but Dieu knows Remy never liked to keep his mouth shut during a fight... or any time really. He grinning at Al's shout as he managed to lock the arm of one of their attackers into a hold, using them as a shield between him and the others.] Maybe they havin' performance anxiety. Should see a doctor 'bout that. [Though there was a serious side to this all, as fun as it was right now; how far were they going to take this fight? Leaving the guys battered and bruised was one thing, but Remy doubt it would send enough of a message to idiots like this. Even a couple of broken bones might not do that, but it would at least take them out of comission until they had healed up.]
sonofgold: (giving back up to eleven)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-11-14 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Al smirked as he tripped his opponent, then tied him up with the cable.]

They'll need a doctor when we're done with them, either way.

[He was then surprised when the bound man kicked him in the shin; resisting the urge to kick the man in the head in return, Al instead got out of range and turned to help Remy, wielding his sharpened pipe weapon.]

I'll give you guys a chance to run and lick your wounds. If you don't... my friend and I will have to get serious.
cajunspice: (>))

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-11-18 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Keeping a tight hold on the man he was using as a shield, Remy was tempted to keep provoking the situation, a good fight now and then really got the blood pumping, but... it was hardly a smart idea. He could almost hear a little voice in his head telling him to let the situation cool down rather than throw fuel onto the fire.] 'm sure these fine gentlemen will be smart 'nough to know that it's time to step back 'nd let us all go out separate ways. [Ok, he almost got through that all without throwing a hit into his words.] Before their body parts go in a bunch of separate ways.
sonofgold: (eager)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-11-21 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Al prodded the man Remy was holding in the chest with the butt end of his spear to make the point.]

Because you don't want to see us when we're angry. [The man seemed to consider arguing, but shook his head and murmured that they'd leave.] Good. Get going.
cajunspice: (:/)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-11-23 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Keeping his grip on the man a moment longer, as if making sure he was telling the truth, Remy finally let go and took a step back from him, warily eyeing the rest of the thugs to make sure they all backed off.

He held his tongue, stopping himself from making any more smart remarks that might lead to the fight starting up again, and waited until they were out of earshot before talking to Al.]
Well that was fun. [Then back to the matter at hand.] The kid get away ok?
sonofgold: (talking)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-11-23 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Al nodded, though he seemed a bit out of breath now.]

Ran off as fast as he could. Thanks for the save... I'm not sure I could have handled them all without lethal force. I hate having to go that far.
cajunspice: (smile)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-11-24 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Not sure if it would had been better if that was the case, doubt this place would had missed them much... but goin' to guess there would just be others to take their spots if that had happened. [Pushing aside that morbid comment, Remy shot Al a smile as he clapped a hand against the other man's shoulder.] That be some fancy moves ya had there, how ya doin' that?
sonofgold: By <user name=nirnroot site=plurk.com> (transmutation)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-11-26 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Al nodded.] I don't think there's any shortage of kidnappers here, sadly. This place seems to be a haven for those sorts of people. [He then smiled.] I'm curious about your powers myself. Mine is called alchemy- it's a science from my world that involves the deconstruction and reconstruction of matter into new forms. I can repair broken cables or sharpen a pole into a sword like nothing, as long as I know the chemistry.
cajunspice: (cross-armed)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-11-27 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
That so? [Remy asked with a smile as he carefully moved his cards back away to where he had them stored in his coat. He heard about alchemy, but only as far as it went in his universe; a debunked 'science' of people trying to turn metals and all sorts of things into gold. Impossible experiments. But Remy wasn't about to bring that up with a guy who was using it, and to great effect.]

My own is from a mutation. 'm a mutant, was born with a gene that gave me powers. Seems to be gettin' more common back home, 'nd in a number of universes, but the powers range greatly.
sonofgold: (dreaming)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-11-28 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Mmhmm- though granted, there aren't very many alchemists at my skill level. You know, not to brag or anything. [He winked.] I've been learning since I was small, but I know I'll never learn everything there is to know about alchemy.

[He then listened with interest, nodding. He sounded totally comfortable with the idea.]

So someone might have a power like yours, and then someone else might have something useless? I bet your world can be a mess sometimes, if that's the case.
cajunspice: (grin)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-12-01 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, if ya got the skill ya got the right to brag, Dieu knows I do. [A sharp flash of teeth in a grin, Remy in no way shy about how much his ego enjoyed attention. Hell, one day he might actually live up to what he said about himself.] Sounds real 'nterestin', don't quite got 'nything like that back home. Not in regards to a science or... magic. [Was one or both of those terms offensive in regards to alchemy? Remy wasn't sure, he hoped he hadn't offended Al with the comment.]

I haven't ran 'cross others quite like m'self yet, but oui, there be a chance there be other kinetic chargers out there. 'nd for the most we actually weren't doin' too badly 'til of late. We kinda got outed to the masses thanks to my ex-boss, before that most didn't even know mutants existed.
sonofgold: (^_^)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-12-02 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah... but I try to be humble, too, just because I DO know I'm only one human. Arrogance never did me anything good. I'd describe alchemy as a science myself, but for some folks it is close to magic.

[Al then listened with interest, shaking his head.]

I'd ask why you all kept to yourselves, but I think I can understand. Sometimes humans have trouble handling anything that's... too different or extraordinary.
cajunspice: (:/)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-12-05 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
[There was a sigh as Remy scratched at the back of his neck, a shake of his head at the mess home was. And the stories he had heard from other universes similar to his own.] Yeah, tend to get a bunch of things thrown at us, from religious people callin' us demons, to science community sayin' we a fault in evolution or the like. [There was a shrug of a shoulder to follow that up.] Hard to do much 'bout it really, just deal with it how ya can.
sonofgold: (frown)

[personal profile] sonofgold 2016-12-05 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... I can completely see that. People can be afraid of what they don't understand... I just wish they were more willing to accept what's different. I've known some chimeras- humans that had been fused with animals- and they struggled with acceptance, too. They managed to find meaning in their lives and made friends with each other despite that.
cajunspice: S3, E4 (04)

[personal profile] cajunspice 2016-12-09 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
[Remy's brows went up with that before tentatively asking,] That be... something they wanted, or...? [Because hey, he's seen it in mutants, those who had animal related powers. Hell, Xavier's school had a girl who could turn into a wolf. It was hard enough growing up with it as part of your DNA, but Remy wasn't stupid enough to not think if the technology was out there that someone was able to abuse it and use it against others.

That idea was a little too Island of Doctor Moreau for Remy's tastes.]
