Hmm... I guess I do! But I think it's easy to make lots of friends when you see people in class every day. I have a few close friends, same as the rest, but I like talking to just about everyone.

I used to move around a lot growing up, so I have a lot of practice.

You moved frequently?

[She seems interested. This is not swimming lessons anymore, though, is it.]

Yeah, my folks work construction and it's kind of a tough industry. A lot of the times we went where the jobs were.

[Oh, right, they were supposed the be actually having a lesson. She's used to the temperature by now, though, so she swims closer and offers her hands out.]

Here, roll over on your stomach and take my hands! I'll hold you up and you can practice kicking forward instead.

Was moving like that not expensive?

[She obeys Ochako's instructions, kicking with a lot of force, and her tail is being held straight up like a shark fin.]

[She's trusting Aria to know what to do with her own tail, since Ochako sure as heck doesn't. Hopefully it isn't uncomfortable like that.]

Daddy didn't like to talk too much about money, especially when I was little, so I can't say whether or not it cost more. I do know that they did it to cut down on commute times, though, for my sake. They both worked really long hours, so it was important to them that they got home in good time.

[She looks down at the water, her expression taking more of a wistful turn.]

They did a lot for me. That's why I want to give back, you know?

[Aww. She shifts, going from holding onto Ochako's hands for support, to taking them to squeeze lightly, as comforting as she can manage.]

I am certain you will be able to. You are talented, kind, and your Quirk is amazing. They must take great pride in you.

[She smiles shyly, cheeks a little more pink than usual; she's still not used to the excess praise, and she isn't sure of the strength of her Quirk, but she likes hearing it, so. Mixed feelings.]

...A-anyway! How's it feel? Are your legs getting used to it yet?

She kicks a few more times, and nods.]

I believe so. Just like this, right?

Just like that! For real swimming, though, once you get a feel for what it's like to kick, we need to teach you how to keep yourself afloat!

[She backs up a little, just to give Aria extra space, and lets one hand go, using that arm instead to stroke it through the water instead.]

See how I'm moving my arm? When you do this with both arms, kick, and hold your chin up, you should be able to move forward without sinking!

[She watches, then steps back a moment.]

Can you show me all of it in action?

Sure thing! Watch this.

[Ochako backs off and moves to the slightly deeper water, kicking her legs and using her arms to move herself around. She swims about like someone who knows what she's doing.]

See what I mean?

[She nods, before splashing in after her and copying Ochako's movements exactly.

... It doesn't work quite as well for her being much taller and solid muscle, but she's managing to get around anyway.]

I get it now!

[Ochako lets herself float to watch, then beams, clapping her hands together above the surface.]

Yeah! Just like that! How's it feel?

... I feel I appreciate ships much more now.

Hm? What, you can't imagine swimming across an ocean?

I can, and that is the problem.

[She does not, at all.]

It would be exhausting and terrifying, and frankly I do not believe myself equal to the challenge.
