Why'd You Kill the Merchant?!

Who: ALL O' Y'ALL
Broadcast: If you want
Action: FRICK YEAH PARTY AT THE JUNKYARD...I mean, Waystation. Junkstation.
When: 10/07 - Event End

It looks more like a junk heap than a waystation, but luckily there aren't any math fetishists to add you to the pile (hopefully). Talk to the scavengers and heed their warnings...if you want. Or perhaps you'll approach a shady individual for purchasing or selling stuff.

"Welcome, stranger!"

Here? No. I read about it a bit in my father's journal, how Tranquil and Dwarves refine the lyrium used to inscribe the stones, but I haven't found anything like it outside of Thedas. Probably because we haven't found lyrium outside of it, and it's required to make the runes.

Artifacts from Earth seem to be the most popular, but I don't think it's entirely impossible that one of the planets we visit might contain lyrium somewhere. Though it's really academic at this point. I wouldn't need it to enchant, though the result would likely be less stable than these runes.

[He laughed slightly] Though to be honest I don't have any idea what I'd do with such a thing.

I don't know, earrings of protection? A ring of frost resistance for cold days? There are a lot of uses, but without lyrium I think it'd only hold the spell for a short time. A few hours maybe, at most.

With these crystals, you mean? Entirely possible. But I don't despair of finding other options until I've had a chance to pursue them. [He grinned, almost gleefully. It was true. The project might be fruitless but there was a certain thrill in the pursuit of a new idea, regardless of the outcome. It was nice to have the prospect of something to work on]

But if I might ask, is this sort of equipment common for mages in Thedas? [He mostly means the armor, which to him seems almost oppositional to what a mage is, but he'll hold back on that viewpoint for now]
wolfehawke: (Actually you're wrong)

The runes yes, mostly on the insides of buckles or on staves since the usual robes don't really have anywhere else for them. I'm a bit of a special case.

[He spreads his arms a bit, illustrating the armor he is wearing. Plate over his feet, across his shins and knees, but the rest is piecemeal. A gorget for the higher part of his chest and under his chin and his right arm decked out in pauldron, rerebrace, couter, and gauntlet, but the left remains unencumbered save for a hint of a crudely finished chain shirt peaking out from under the leather strapping that keeps the whole ensemble from slipping off.]

I get in entirely too much violent trouble to go about in regular robes. Besides, as long as my staff arm is free I can still cast as well as anyone.

[It looks all very bulky and uncomfortable from his perspective, but it's hard to deny the usefulness of having that kind of protection]

Explaining your willingness to be my bodyguard for this little venture. [He gave Adalwolfe a slighly rueful smile]

Hopefully we won't have any trouble, but I cannot help but he thankful for your experience.
wolfehawke: (You're kidding)

Well I'm a lot less squishy than most mages, to be sure.

[He gives a cheeky wink to Felix for that, playfully chiding.]

No thanks necessary. I have some time to kill anyway before an appointment this evening.

[Killing slavers with Fenris. Oh so fun.]
