[ She's used to that type of reaction, so she proceeds on without so much as an eyebrow raise. Though, internally, she might be fighting the urge to laugh. Just a little. ]

Sorry, but yeah ... a little bit.

Did you just join the fleet recently?

[As cliche as it was, Adachi is finding it hard to not stare. Keep it together... seriously, though, what was happening? I mean, yeah she's attractive, but it was almost like she had this aura around her. Ugh, more cliche.]

Oh, yeah. A little over two weeks ago. How'd you guess?

We haven't met yet.

[ if there's anything important in situations like these, it's to know of and about as many people involved as possible. It makes it easier to know the secret goings-on of the crews, what drama to expect, and perhaps more importantly -- who among them could be s threat in some way.

Of course, the way she phrases it simply seems more like she just happens to be a social butterfly ]

Are you settling in alright? I know not everyone is used to the whole space travel thing.

Ah, so you've been here a while yourself then? How long?

[Adachi is doing his best to try and keep a log of the conversation going in his head. It was pretty much standard practice for him in any circumstance. However, he was finding it especially difficult to do currently. It's like his head was all fuzzy, and he couldn't focus properly. Normally, he would be more bothered by this, but it was a party... and this girl was hot...]

For the most part. I mean, as well as I can. It's just a lot to take in, you know? Suddenly finding yourself in outer space, and then being told that you're now part of some weird, intergalactic reality TV show... I'd be surprised if anyone was able to just immediately accept that.

[ino]

A few months, now.

[ She gets where he's coming from, but ... she was totally one of those people who pretty much immediately accepted it. Years in a place like Paradisa made any situation one where she couldn't be all that surprised ... and so far, the show had been relatively harmless and drama-free. Better than the monthly murder fests that Paradisa had a tendency to turn into ...

Of course, she won't voice the "it could be worse" sentiment. The last thing she wants is Atroma getting any .... ideas. ]

It is a lot. But I'm glad you're doing alright. There are some in the fleet who'd never heard of TV before or anything, so it's difficult to explain exactly what's going on.

A few months, huh? Wow. [Adachi gives a short, impressed whistle.] You must know pretty much everyone by now.

[In reality, once he had gotten past the initial shock of suddenly being someplace entirely new, Adachi had settled into this new environment rather easily. After all, he certainly wasn't unfamiliar with weirdness involving television. Yet, he felt it best to keep playing it off like this was much weirder of an experience to him than it really was. If he seemed too comfortable with it all, people would likely start asking questions... and that was the last thing he wanted.]

Well, of course I'm familiar with television and even reality shows, but this... [He makes a vague gesture, highlighting as much around them as he could.] I mean, suddenly waking up in outer space, held against our will for the amusement of some faceless alien horde... it's like something out of a bad science fiction movie.

[Adachi pauses briefly before continuing, doing his best wounded facade.]

I wouldn't exactly say I'm "all right."

[ino]

Almost, anyways! I try to at least know everyone's names.

[ There are certain people she'd rather not associate with at all, but she won't say that out loud ... ]

A bad movie, huh ... ? After everything I've seen I'd say it's not that weird, compared to some of the things that have happened to me.

But I'm sure you'll adjust soon enough. People are made to adapt, after all!

Ah, I just realized I didn't introduce myself. I'm Tohru Adachi. Please excuse my bad manners!

[Really? This girl has experienced weirder things than this place? That didn't seem possible. But, then again, if Adachi's learned anything so far, it's that everyone in the fleet (at least out of the people he's met) all have some pretty unique backgrounds.]

What could have happened to you that would be weirder than any of this outer-space, reality TV show business? [Then Adachi remembers his manners again.] That is, if it's not too personal of a question of course. [He chuckles apologetically, waving his hands embarrassingly about it front of his chest.]

I'm Ino. Nice to meet you.

[ No last name. It's not important, here. ]

It's not too personal. I'm talking about zombie invasions and magical castles that eat your feelings and demonic rituals and stuff. [ A shrug. ] Compared to that, this is a piece of cake.

[Adachi almost spills his drink. What the hell?! How could she say any of that so nonchalantly?! Zombie invasions, demonic rituals, magic castles-]

[Wait, magic castles? Could she mean... Paradisa? Ino! She said her name was Ino! Is she...]

[Surprise and realization plasters itself across Adachi's face.]

You're THAT Ino?! The "freeze-out" Ino?!

[ino]

[ She squints at him. Did she have some kind of reputation she didn't know about? ]

"Freeze-out"?

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi realizes he let his mouth get away from him on this one. Old habit? In the past, he had feigned it, but maybe something had stuck. It also could do with the fact that he was having a harder time focusing around this girl. Seriously, what was going on?]

Oh, well- um... [Adachi chuckles nervously.] Someone told me that you were in Paradisa... and uh, ah heh... I don't really know what the "freeze out" bit means. Honest.

[ino]

[ Suddenly, this is very serious. ]

Who was it, and what did they say exactly?

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi chuckles, seemingly more nervous now then before. Although, this time... there may be some sincerity to it. I mean, this was an awfully amusing reaction he was getting out of Ino. Should he throw Crowley under the bus now... or string it along a little more...]

No- nothing bad was said. I promise. [Adachi slips into his flustered, blundering persona like an old, comfy sweater.] I only know your name, because I was asking about people from Paradisa. That's all.

[ino]

[ Oh come on, Adachi. Don't cover for them!

Out of all the people who know her from Paradisa, though, there's really only one who comes to mind who would say something weird like that ... ]

It was Crowley, wasn't it? Tall, dark hair, sunglasses?

[cabbagedetective]

[Whoa! This girl was good. How did she figure that out? Well, sorry Crowley-san. Guess Adachi will owe him a drink later to make up for it.]

Oh, uh... ah heh... I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it. He was just trying to be helpful.

[Adachi rubs the back of his neck, looking guilty and not like he wasn't utterly enjoying this.]

[ino]

Oh, he meant it, alright. Crowley's joy in life is making everybody's life difficult.

[ I mean, she'd still trust him with her life, but she couldn't honestly say he'd never done anything to annoy her.

But she huffs, putting that to the side. Crowley will get an earful from her later ]

In any case, yes, I am from Paradisa, just like he is.

[cabbagedetective]

Ah heh, I'm sure he means well.

[And that's all that Adachi feels he's obligated to offer in his drinking buddy's defense.]

Wow though, it sounds like Paradisa was miserable. I mean, that's a lot to go through.

[So it seems that Crowley was telling the truth about that place. Adachi figured it was too convoluted not to be true. Still, Ino's confirmation made him uneasy. He needed to learn more about his time there.]

[ino]

[ Rolls her eyes. She has known Crowley for a good third of her life at this point, she knows he was purposely being a butt. But she'll drop it, either way ]

It had its ups and downs. In the end, I'm better prepared for anything Atroma wants to pull out of their ass.

[cabbagedetective]

[She said "their" when referring to Atroma. So it's becoming more and more likely that Atroma refers to a collection of people, and not just one individual. Adachi makes a note of this before he continues. Since she didn't seem to know him when she approached, it was unlikely, but he figured he should ask her anyways.]

According to Crowley-san, I once lived in Paradisa too. Thing is, I don't remember any of it. [Adachi pauses briefly before he finally asks the question.] Do you remember me from there at all?

[ino]

[ She looks at him thoughtfully ]

You don't really look familiar. [ Her memories are hazy in some spots, though ... but then again, she can easily attribute not remembering him to how many people came and went in the entire time she was there. ] But if you talk about the people you know, I might know them. People tended to come in groups from their respective worlds, there.

[cabbagedetective]

The people I know? You mean from home? Because like I said, I don't remember anything from when I was apparently living in that Paradisa place.

[ino]

Yes, the people you know from your world. If you aren't able to remember Paradisa then it means this version of you technically never went there.
