Iskaulit Mingle - Problems with Psychics

When: Today, as Sora's augment glitch starts.

[It's your average day on the Iskaulit. Absolutely nothing seems out of place initially, but without any warning- you might find yourself or your friends experiencing some problems. What's up on that?

In other words, it's an Iskaulit mingle with a twist! Come on in everyone! You don't need to interact with Sora to have it effect you, so feel free to start your own threadstarter! Or talk to Sora, that's cool too. ]

[Sora, initially at least, isn't aware of anything being wrong with his powers. He just wandered to the Iskaulit as he usually does, spending time in the gardens and the fox park along with the blue lion cub he calls Simba. All in all, it's pretty routine for him- though he is regularly stopping to rub his shoulder blades or his forehead.]

Man...maybe I'm coming down with something, I'm all sore...

[Weird.]

[It had started off like any other day when Al had gone over to the Iskaulit in order to stretch his legs, maybe find a sparring partner, or have a session with a sandbag if not.

Halfway to the gym, however, out of nowhere he seemed to get hit with water. He couldn't see where it came from, but one moment he was dry and another he was soaked. Confused, he looked around and began to probe at the walls, trying to see if there was a leak of some sort... when it happened again. This time, his crotch was soaked.

Soon, anybody near the gym could find Al doing some weird dance, trying to avoid splashes of water from all directions.]

[Though the fox park was available on the Marsiva, Castle decided that the Iskaulit might be a better place to take Officer Snuggles for a walk, and try to take his mind off the fact that the Vision was officially gone. Castle had lost people before, but this was the first time someone he'd considered to be a close friend had vanished, and he wasn't sure how to take it.

As he walked, his mind wandering, Castle didn't notice at first that his steps were getting heavier and heavier... until he found himself unable to lift his feet, and all it took was a trip to send him sprawing to the ground.]

Uh... help? Anyone? I've fallen and I can't get up!

[Officer Snuggles, for his part, was floating around Castle's head, looking like he was having the time of his life and yapping happily.]

[Kaylee had yet to really poke around the Iskaulit and get a feel for it, so now that they seemed to be between star systems, she decided that now would be a good time to do just that. She had a toolkit with her in case she could find and poke at the ship's guts, and as she walked, she fiddled with her communicator.

She hadn't gotten far when she felt herself walking smack dab into a wall.]

OW! What in the...?

[But, plot twist: there was no wall. Rubbing her nose, Kaylee stood and stared in bafflement, before cautiously tiptoeing forward.]

[It had been a long time since Jennifer had set foot on the Iskaulit, but she finally made herself do it in order to check on her first aid kits and take a stroll through the garden. Bag of supplies in hand, she resolutely set out to do her tasks, but halfway through to the surgery room, she stopped, furrowing her eyebrows.

Why had she come here? She couldn't remember. Finally, she looked down at the medical supplies she was carrying, mentally facepalming. Right, the supply kits. However, a few steps later, she had the same problem, and by the time she got to the surgery center, she had to sit down and re-center herself.

It was almost refreshing when she got to the garden without mishap... only to find that all the lights hung up to nourish the plants seemed to briefly snuff out as she passed them.]

... I think I'm going nuts.

[Sora was coming into the fox park when he sees this man on the ground (and his animal floating next to him? That's weird). So of course, he rushes over]

Hey! You okay?

[He'll be kneeling down, trying to figure out how bad this man's hurt]

[And a muffled reply comes from Castle, now face-down on the floor.]

'm fine, just... feel heavy all of a sudden...

[Snuggles floated by them on his back, looking content, a goofy foxy smile on his face.]

Oh no-

[What could be causing that?? Sora doesn't know. But he's very worried]

Here. lemme try helping you up.

[He'll reach over and try to pushing on the guy's shoulder to push him up, making a "nnngh" noise as he does it- but um yeah, either Castle is very heavy or Sora is very weak, as it's not very effective.

Though really the answer is probably a mix of both]

[Misty spends enough time on the Iskaulit and loves animals so much that it shouldn't be much of a surprise when she shows up in the fox park.]

Castle!

[She kneels down next to him.]

Are you hurt?

[And Castle could be heard making similar noises as he tries to roll with it, without success.]

Man, I know I'm getting a bit of a tummy, but I haven't been eating THAT much, have I?

[He snickers, then lifts his head, glaring up at Snuggles.]

Well, I'm glad SOMEONE is amused, at least, Officer Snuggles.

[Castle was firmly faceplanted, so his voice was muffled as he replied.]

stuck to floor... can't get up...

I dunno-! [He tries a bit more before he finally gives up, panting a little] Jeez! Heavy!

[He knows he's not that strong but come on!! He sits back, looking up at the floating happy fox]

Officer Snuggles? [What a cute name] I didn't know the foxes could float.

[while it isn't strange to find Hank at the library, being a nerd who practically lives there when he isn't tinkering in his lab or elsewhere, but finding him standing in the doorway . . . well, that's a little bit odd. Even odder still is that he has one hand braced against the top of it, as though he's keeping himself in place. Or keeping himself from floating off. Either way, it probably makes for an interesting sight.

In the other hand is a book that he's reading, because no weird gravity is going to keep him from finishing it.

Later, you can find him in the library proper once it passes]

[Sora wasn't a regular visitor to the library, reading wasn't really his thing. But he wanted to see if there were any cookbooks that he could read to Dezel here, since he knows the guy was even less likely to look.

And Sora, being the social guy he is and not at all understanding you leave people alone to read in the library- can't help but notice this guy's curious behavior- especially with him in the doorway like that]

Uh...you comfortable there?

[Ahh, what better way to wrap up a long day with a nice drink and some music (albeit music you’ve heard entirely too many times over at this point)?

Except Beverly’s plans for relaxation are rudely interrupted by… lightning? When she tries to turn on the jukebox, sparks fly out of her fingers, temporarily shutting the music down.]

What the -?

[There’s a tingling sensation in her hands. It’s not painful, but not exactly pleasant either. She turns them over, palms up, to examine them. Apparently, something in that movement triggered a reaction, as two small balls of lightning coalesce in her palms. Instinctively, she clenches her fists to try to make the lightning disappear, but that only sends both balls shooting straight up to the ceiling where they knock out some of the lights. Cursing under her breath, she looks around for help, an explanation, anything.

Seems like there has been a power swap with a certain Mage...]

[B. Iskaulit Gardens, Telepathy]

[As she is almost every day, Beverly's in the gardens, tending to her plants, when it begins. It's quiet enough at first, just a murmur in the background, hardly noticeable. She hums softly as she plucks berries off the vine, ready to take back to the Blue Fish. The humming is enough to drown out the mysterious sound, for now.

But as the Iskaulit wakes up and more people come on board, it gets worse. Now there are distinct voices, voices that don't belong to her, yet many of them are familiar. Words and images flood her mind, causing her temples to throb. Dropping her basket on the floor, she takes a step back, pulls out her tricorder, and scans herself. She frowns at the results.]

That doesn’t make any sense…

[ooc: Beverly has swapped some powers with Charles Xavier and now has telepathy, for a day anyway. If you’d like Beverly to read your character’s mind, please shoot me a PM on her journal or on plurk so we can discuss parameters!]

[Okay, Nightingale's only a little tipsy, she's pretty sure Beverly isn't supposed to be shooting lightning. Probably. Who even knows anymore?]

... Um. Are you okay? Did you mean to do that?

[Sometimes, these swaps are a bit more dramatic, with Caster's hand glowing a very bright red very suddenly, a blinding red light that fills the area.

Apparently, the source of that light didn't expect it either, given how she was apparently distracted enough by it to walk right into a wall.]

Mi- Mikooon! What just happened?! Who did this?!

[Beverly shakes her head, looking more than a little bewildered.]

No, I -

[The energy around her hands starts crackling again and her voice starts to shake.]

I don't know what's happening.

What do you think would happen if I pushed you right now?

[Natalie no. Hank doesn't glance up from the book, though, because guess who else can be a little shit]

I wouldn't budge.

[well technically he's only half in the library, so technically Sora's still following the rules - he glances up and blinks, then sighs. At least he isn't annoyed, just exasperated]

For now. I think I'm experiencing a glitch.

That sounds like a challenge, honestly.

Don't roughhouse in the library, Opal. You should know better.

[So, after inexplicably finding it much more difficult to stand up, there's a girl here just sitting on the floor of the library. She's trying to make this look natural, because this is ordinary and she could absolutely walk away easily if she wanted to.

(Someone help her.)

If she notices anyone glancing at her, she'll raise a hand in greeting. This is fine.]
