You can check out anytime you'd like.. [Hotel Corona Mingle]

Who: The Fleet!
Broadcast: If you want
Action: Hotel Corona or Planet Ikke
When: December 7th onward

a wheel-shaped space station

[After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.

It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.

Welcome to Hotel Corona! Feel free to enjoy yourselves and enjoy the sites! If a hotel resort isn't your thing, you can head on over to the nearby planet and explore it's icy wonders.

In order words: it's a mingle!! Everyone get in! ]

[Dark red eyes glance over — And his throat clenches uncomfortably, because he smells Kirito before he sees him; it's just a moment of weakness, where his ears fill with the thrum of a heartbeat, of blood rushing through veins (in the boy's temples, especially). He smells of electric failure, sure, but the blood will always outbid the rest. Luckily for Kirito, Garrett's skilled at handling blood. Relatively, anyway. He's hardly a newborn, and while he's not so trained as dear old Carlisle, he isn't leaping up to murder the boy.

He does shift a bit, masking his discomfort with a raised brow and interest.

He is interested in new company, it's just. Feigned right now because he really would love to get a meal or three. Damned blood capsules work well enough, but it doesn't kick the habit so well.]

Hey — Kirito, is it? Suppose you and I are crewmates. Brothers in arms.

... If the primary war here is figuring out where the food comes from, anyway.

That's putting it lightly.

[He glances over, finding the voice very familiar; ah, yes, he thinks he recalls now. His first arrival, his first feed entry! So much easier to talk to people without fear of getting hungry in their general vicinity. Arms crossed already and keen to mimic her own stance, he gives her a bright and pleasant smile, full of good mirth and charm.]

Tragically, I'm too used to such criminal violence. I'm a bit of a wanderer, so I see all that life has to offer. Sometimes in places like these? Not so great offers.

[Silvermoon is in a constant state of magical summer/early autumn. As a result, snow is a bit of an uncommon thing for Belthazar. He only ever dealt with it when he was stationed in Northrend, which was so cold it was completely not fun at all. But he's a scholar and so he is here to take notes, aided by a magical enchanted quill and a levitating journal. He glances around while dictating the following:]

Six feet of snow in this area. At least four inches of permafrost, possibly more. Will have to dig to make sure. Mana seems in short supply compared to the last green planet, which is a blessing and a curse. End entry, thank you.

[He's just noticed Mikleo, judging by the way his face lights up. It's very subtle compared to some people, but there's genuine relief in the gentle rise of his eyebrows and the curve of his lips.]

Ah, Mikle--

[Despite wearing a coat that only reaches his knees, he's somehow found a way to slip on the snow. He holds out his hands for balance but it's too late; he goes sliding headfirst into a deep snowdrift and then it's only his boots sticking out.

Rest in peace.]

You're very well informed.

[Her smile is warm, but there's a coldness to her blue eyes for a moment as she looks him up and down appraisingly. Gemini recognises his voice too and remembers his words about powers, and there's already a vague suspicion in the back of her mind.]

It sounds like you have a taste for danger. Is this sort of place where your wanderings normally take you? [She glances at the body as she says that, not by coincidence.]

Well... [She hesitates. This isn't something she talks about with many people, except Nana. But then she decides he's a friend so it's okay.] You seem like a dad so it made me think about my dad and my mama. They were shot at too only... they didn't come back so that's why I want to be in Starfleet so I can stop bad guys and help people.

[Oh, okay. This she is a little more prepared for now, having talked to other people from the fleet. She cracks open the door enough so he can see her.]

Mr. Charles and Stefan said I'm Beverly, I'm just not her yet because of um. Time travel. And contortions. [(She means distortions)] And we got a whole bunch of people in the wrong time so I think you really do know me.

[Adalwolfe is probably a little under-dressed for the frozen tundra, but not so much as to be shivering. He's got his Champion regalia on, fur trimmed hood - who knew it was a hood? - up around his ears to keep them warm. Underneath he has an extra layer or two of thermal shirts, the muscles of his arms straining the fabric just a bit, but it's a far cry better than his left arm being bare to the elements out in this cold. Who's brilliant idea was that? Oh right. It was his. Over the top, though under his gorget, he's tucked a colorful wool cape that can keep him warm but still has enough room to swing and spin his staff without hindrance. He'd have liked something in red, but this was what they had up in the stores on the hotel station.

He hadn't been hired to help the natives. Really, Adalwolfe was just braving the cold to get his feet on some solid ground for a little while, but when he sees the great beast come up out of the ice with a bellow, the last thing he's about to do is leave the travelers to their fate. From the opposite side from Kaiden, Adalwolfe jumps into action, spinning his staff and flicking magic from the crystal at the top, and then setting it down with finality. Not a moment later, his spell sets the force of the beast's own weight crashing down on it, slowing its movements and causing it a great deal of hurt if the angry roar it gives is any indication.]

D! Mini-golf and discussion of tattoos!

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2016-12-16 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mini-golf. Regular golf wasn't really even a thing on Thedas as far as Adalwolfe is concerned, so he has absolutely no frame of reference for the miniature version. Still, like many sports, it seems to mostly be about hitting things with a stick, which is a perfect way to get his tension out when it seems every direction he looks is just more space. There are entirely too many windows on this Maker's damned hotel for him to be at all comfortable. Even here on the golf course.

At least the company's good. And again, he gets to hit things with a stick.]

So this is something people do on Earth all the time?

[He takes another swing at his ball - not so much a ball as a little pyramid right now, and sends it ricocheting down the bright orange fairway to stop abruptly several yards from the hole. Wolfe looks somewhat non-plussed.]

a. Apogee Gateway - sorry to do the same one again but tattoo!!

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2016-12-16 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[The pool, as far as Adalwolfe is concerned, is the only real reason to visit this floating nightmare they call a hotel. He can do without all the windows off into space; frankly, they make him low-grade nauseated seeing the vast nothingness of space in every direction, even if the colors are pretty. Swimming, though, is not something he's done since he was small. The Wounded Coast isn't really a great place for a beach visit and whatever springs there are in the reachable parts of Sundermount are used by the Dalish for water and laundry and other things. He wasn't about to disturb them either.

His attention right now, though, instead of being on the water as he'd planned - evidenced by his brand new, ridiculously gaudy neon swim trunks with a dragon emblazoned on each side - is on Kai's dragon tattoo. He walks over without much thought to what the elf is doing, all kinds of curious about the brand. "Hey, Kai! Where'd you get that?"

somewhere in the multiverse there exists a language where 'winn' stands for 'excited puppy', and his parents were channeling it when they named him. ]

[ Kai’s back tightens a little. He’s used to being stared at by humans, and from what he’s understood not everyone comes from a world where there are elfin, but it doesn’t mean he’d like it. ]

[Aglow with victory and an excited sheen of sweat, Kaworu is otherwise himself again, at least in the warmth and softness of his smile. He doesn't look like he was just now going through the motions of flattening all enemies.]

It's good to be formidable when I can, [he says cheerfully, pressing the towel to the side of his face. Then he accepts the water bottle, twists it open, and brings it to his lips. His demeanor is totally cool as he tilts his head back and drinks deeply. He doesn't necessarily need the cooling quench, but it feels good to have the heat of his insides be eased by the water. Kaworu gets very excitable—well, intense—when he does things like this, and the adrenaline changes his atmosphere. He's no less gentle once it's all over, but his usual confidence is increased tenfold, and it's not a mellow confidence, now. The angle of his shoulders, the tilt of his chin...

He looks like he could lift Shinji up with one hand, and like he's considering doing it. But he stays in place, gently cuffing his own chin with the towel, once he has finished drinking.]

Well, I had fun. It's a little sad, though, when the others fumble.

[ Kai is carefully tuned to the movements of the other elfin, braced for whatever he needs to be aware of, not at all certain of his ability to defend himself against a stranger, whether in the water or not.

The most Kai has going for himself is that he’s stubborn, which doesn’t really work against magic, if it’s used. ]

What do you want?
halfbloodhatchling: (seriously?)

[personal profile] halfbloodhatchling 2016-12-16 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Kai stumbles into the water, and it’s not like he’s got an innate problem with getting wet — he takes showers — but as far as he’d been concerned he had his own grounding, and he’s not expecting to stumble while he’s just standing there.

He splashes on his way into the water, pushing himself back to this feet before long, still a little worse for wear. His head snaps around toward the sound of laughter but the woman there is too far away and it hadn’t felt like magic. It could as easily be some feature of this pool, which is probably a good reason to get out of it before he drowns.]

Me?

[It catches him by surprise, simply because he knows what it means. Ice dodging was a rite of passage in the Water Tribe. Outsiders who did it became an honorary member. And Allen knows Sokka isn't one who takes those sorts of traditions lightly. The Southern Water Tribe meant everything to him. So to want to do this with him, it's...

He looks away, knowing that his face is turning red and his eyes have a little bit of that burning feelings.]

S-Sure. We could do that.
