You can check out anytime you'd like.. [Hotel Corona Mingle]
Who: The Fleet!
Broadcast: If you want
Action: Hotel Corona or Planet Ikke
When: December 7th onward

[After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.
It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.
Welcome to Hotel Corona! Feel free to enjoy yourselves and enjoy the sites! If a hotel resort isn't your thing, you can head on over to the nearby planet and explore it's icy wonders.
In order words: it's a mingle!! Everyone get in! ]

lol it's okay, Mags is used to everyone hating him so this is the most normal anyone has treated him
Nothing. But I saw you hesitate, and I wondered if you were well.
[ There is music in his voice, still, the lost bard of the Noldor, but nothing particularly magical, as such, and the grey eyes are bright still with an old, old, light, but sad and kind all the same ]

[ It's a force of effort to move into the water, away from the other man's side, but Kai manages it, taking the unknown risk of the fact that he is incapable of swimming in the hope it will provide a little distance. And he's really not planning to go so deep he can't stand quite yet.
Which mostly means he ends up hesitating again, just shoulder high in water. ]
no subject
As you say.
[ He does not move, the preternatural stillness of his folk serving him well here, for he does not wish to spook this one - he seems young, to Maglor, but he does not wish to assume ]
But I would have a care - the water here is strange, but the song is still familiar to me, and water can be dangerous, if you enter it unwisely.
no subject
The most Kai has going for himself is that he’s stubborn, which doesn’t really work against magic, if it’s used. ]
What do you want?
no subject
Nothing, really. Conversation, perhaps. [ Wryly ] Also, not to have to pull you from the water if you cannot swim.
no subject
[Kai's tone is dry, clearly not believing it for a second.]
Don't worry, I'm not planning to drown today.
no subject
No one plans to - but I saw your hesitation. Water can be a friend, but it can be treacherous, too. Better that I watch and warn, rather than walk by and let you get into trouble.
no subject
[It's very tempting for Kai to walk away, but that would mean having to move past the other elfin, so for now he stays in the water.]
no subject
no subject
I'm not in trouble.
no subject
no subject
[Clearly the problem here is not that Kai cannot swim. Clearly.
And to prove that he's going to...start splashing into the water, while sticking in the area where he can stand if necessary. This is fine.
At least he doesn't need to rescue elfin babies this time around.]no subject
[ So serene that he is almost certainly behaving like this on purpose by now. But Maglor does watch with quiet concern - he really does not actually want to have to pull Kai out ]
I am merely watching, after all.
no subject
He can do that much, at least, even if it's exhausting.]
no subject
He's keeping a general weather eye out, in truth - Kai is not the only one in the water, and although this is an artificial beach with no tides, people will get into trouble generally. But while he's here, he can at least keep an eye out. ]
no subject
It's exhausting and he's tense with trying to keep an eye on the other man, so perhaps it isn't surprising when he does find himself deeper into the water than he intended, splashing to try to tread water and finding it not very successful, his head dipping under water, then above again for a gasp of air.]
no subject
The shallows are not far. If Kai can make it back he will be alright. If not... ]
no subject
Not yet.]
no subject
But he starts hunting for the songs that will let him pull the water away ]
no subject
Then he collapses to his knees, breathing heavily as his lungs take in what they can. ]
no subject
Need you any aid?
no subject
I'm fine. I told you I would be.
no subject
You almost were not. I think you had best stay in the shallows - did you never learn to swim?
no subject
I'm learning it now.
no subject
[ Maglor scolds ]
Relax. Water is surprisingly strong. Before you learn to swim, you should try to learn to float. Spread your weight out, rather than let it all drop in out point - your back is the easiest.
