[Adachi does his best to sound like the grown-up, adult detective that he totally is.]

Just doing my job miss! It's my duty as a police detective to look out for people, after all.

[ino]

[ She gives him a curious look. ]

You know, you're not exactly on the clock here. You could make this a total vacation if you wanted.

[cabbagedetective]

[Now that he's all full of un-entitled, self-importance, Adachi keeps the false bravado going.]

Justice never rests miss! A good police detective is ever vigilant for signs of trouble!

Wouldn't you have better luck with that sort of thing in town? [ She'll reach into the basket and pull out an apple to start munching on ] Like, aren't police supposed to be for civil disobedience and stuff?

[cabbagedetective]

[Sigh, this girl was hard to impress. He couldn't tell if he found it annoying or attractive about her... at the moment, just annoying. Seriously, couldn't she just play along for like five seconds?]

Ah heh, all right, you caught me. [He holds up both hands as if he's surrendering.] I'm actually just looking for Dorian's place. Any idea if I'm going in the right direction?

[ino]

Oh, you got an invite to visit the House of Terror, huh?

You missed it a ways. If I remember right, you have to go back towards town and take a right past that one big barn.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi's about to thank her for the directions and then be on his way, when the full meaning of Ino's words start to sink in.]

"House of Terror?"

[ino]

Oh, yeah. I heard the townspeople mentioning it. I think Dorian's probably playing up the scary wizard thing again?

[cabbagedetective]

Again? So he's done this before?

[ino]

Didn't you see him at the gala? Nobody puts on that much eyeliner without trying to look evil.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi lets out a snort and a chuckle. That's what he liked about Ino. As much as the whole hard to get routine pissed him off sometimes, her way of describing and talking about people was pretty funny.]

Boy, you can be rather cruel Ino-chan. [Adachi teased.] But I did notice. Though I just figured that it had to do with the style of wherever he comes from.

[ino]

[ A shrug ]

It's not cruel if he takes it as a compliment. [ Which he did ] Either way, he's probably having fun spooking the poor people on this planet.

[Dorian was becoming more interesting to Adachi the more he hears about him... not that Adachi would say that out loud. The last thing he wanted was another repeat of the Gala. In fact, Adachi wasn't sure he had forgiven Ino yet... Well, she was hot. So, he figures he can let it go... for now...]

Spooking people, huh? Well, then this sounds like a job for an authority figure! I'll go check on him. Make sure he's not causing too much trouble.

[Adachi tries to sound all confident and masculine. Just as a police officer should be.]

[ino]

[ GAY. ]

I'm pretty sure he could kick your ass if it came down to it.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi will just give a slight exasperated sigh.]

Wow, that's cold. There you again being cruel.

[Adachi waves as he heads off in the direction Ino pointed out earlier.]

I'll see you later Ino-chan.

[When Adachi thinks he's out of earshot, he'll mutter under his breath.] "Freeze-out Ino" doesn't even begin to cover it...
