Sylvari used to be normal and I shouldn't have to look like a human so people don't ... panic? Worry? Get scared? [ All of the above? ]

People may be used to your appearance where you come from, but that's clearly not true here. These people go about life with blinders on, and it's your right to tear it off and startle them.

I'm afraid to disappoint you, but these are destined not for gardening but for an alchemist, whom I will only assume with use them as ingredients.

If the alchemist wants them, then being able to grow them would mean more of them, without having to go looking in the woods. [ That.. seemed like a pretty obvious plus to him. ]

Or if more than one person wants them, you can grow a lot of them and still not have to go into the woods. [ ... but he's keeping his mug-of-plant closer to him. Fine, you can have that one, but he's not giving up his seedling. ]

Yes! Mother is the Pale Tree. She takes a form like us to better talk to us after we wake up, because its harder to talk in the Dream when you're not in it.

... Yes? I am a plant, because I woke from a pod attached to Mother, who is the Pale Tree.

Never mind that. What was that about a Dream?

This is a subject he understands much more easily. ]

The Dream is how Sylvari learn before we wake up. All the Sylvari start there, and Mother teaches us how to read and write, and do things like feed ourselves [ Basic taking care of yourself knowledge that humans usually get in those children years, basically- ]

And we learn things that other, awake Sylvari have learned, or seen, or done! Like the Ascalon ghosts have ghost canons, because their king was a sore loser! [ ... that isn't exactly related to each other but well- ]

[Yeah he's mostly going to ignore that last bit.]

How intriguing. Can you...go back to sleep if you wanted in order to learn more?

The Dream is a little more of a place? Mother can open a way to it, but it isn't easy, so going back is very hard. We can go back to Mother and ask her questions, though! ... When she's awake..
