[It sure is a lovely day actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

[ oop, touching. riku immediately jerks his head up, eyes wide open before he whirls around and punches robin right in his nose.

that's when he gives a yelp, holding his fist and shaking his hand with a wince. oh, goddamn, he used his bad hand, too! did he break his wrist all over again? no, no, it looks fine...

... wait. he stares at robin, and then nearly trips over himself to get to him. ]

C-captain? Robin!

[ oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit-- ]

[he was his pretty hard, so he's on his back, hand clasped over his nose... but his shock quickly dissipates into surprised, genuine laughter. he's grinning wide while he takes his hand away, even though there's already a small smudge of red.]

You called me captain! [another laugh--interrupted with a little 'ow'] Hah, that's great...

[limitstorm]

[ really. riku sighs as he leans over him, giving him a staredown. ]

That's seriously your first thought? At least be angry I hurt you...

Nah.

[he sniffs, pushing himself up. his nose doesn't drip; maybe it wasn't actually as bad a nosebleed as it first looked.]

You hit pretty hard, though. I'm surprised.

What's that supposed to mean?

[ robin he is the security augment. he's supposed to be good at fighting. riku moves along with him--he reaches out a hand like he wants to help, but his fingers curl into his palm and he pulls back, like touching him again might result in another injury. ]

Look, don't... do that. I can't tell who you are when I'm meditating.

[he reaches up, grabs his hand--not in a very strong grip, but enough to not be confused with something flirtatious. there's intention. very evenly:]

You're going to get in trouble if you keep hesitating like that.

[ riku flinches when he sees his hand go up quick, though the muted fear falls away quickly, and he just looks at robin with a confused expression. ]

What're you talking about now?

I mean that it's not good for a security officer to be all jumpy like that.

[there, maybe that makes a little more sense. he lets go of his hand.]

I won't interrupt you again, though. No worries.

[limitstorm]

[ confusion falls to shame as he looks away. maybe not, but he can hardly help it, but he's not going to tell robin that. ]

It doesn't interrupt my fighting. Don't worry about it. [ his personal life? yeah. but there's not much he can do about that. ]

Good. [ but ... his nose. riku exhales a breath. ] If I had all my magic back, I could at least heal you. You should get that looked at.

[he laughs again! he lets the first part drop. he said his part.]

Nah, it'll be fine. I'm tougher than I look.

[actually, now there's no blood to be seen at all. maybe his nose was never bleeding. maybe it was just a panic-based hallucination! those happen, right? he stands up. his fingers are similarly clean.]

What kind of magic do you usually have?

[ he stares rather blankly, but riku makes no word other than a quiet, confused noise which he shrugs off. oh, he saw that. he smelled blood, and his senses tend to not lie. perhaps robin had his own kind of healing magic? who knows. he's not going to pry into his life.

even if robin is trying to pry into his. :| ]

Dangerous magic. Which is why I meditate, to keep it in control. [ hint. ]

[wow, did he miss the entire point of that statement or what?]

[his eyes widen a little, but that's still significantly less shock and surprise than he should have shown. the fact that he's still smiling is a bit offsetting.]

That is dangerous.

[he... tries to not smile as much. he at least looks decidedly less cheery about the potential destruction of entire worlds.]

I know it's bad. You really don't have to worry about me, though.

[ he's caught slightly off-guard--not because he's not surprised robin wouldn't oblige, but because he didn't think this far ahead.

somehow, robin has him acting more childishly than he would normally... he sighs and settles back. ]

[he smirks and stretches his arms up towards the sealed sky...]
