open mingle post;
Who: Everyone on the waystation!
Broadcast: n/a
Action: open to everyone to tag into
When: October 11, 2014
[It sure is a lovelyday actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.
Where are you, droot flooters? What are you up to? Stay out of trouble, now.]
[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.
Please tag in if you feel so inclined! Don't be shy to tag around!]

C'mon, there must be a deck of cards around here someplace...

What this amounts to is that anyone who's in the shopping area or around the docks is bound to notice her thundering by at a rapid pace. She does three laps at a time, then goes to the central ring to do some strength exercises - it looks like she knows at least ten kinds of pushups and situps to do, all to hit different areas, and she manages to jump and catch one of the plastic limbs on the dumb fake trees and chin herself.
She's breathing hard, already starting to drip sweat, but looks happy. She was getting restless being cooped up. It's hard for someone used to workouts that maintain the body that can use the 3-D maneuver gear to downgrade to simply... running on a treadmill.]

As she returns to the middle for her round of push-ups, Michael is suddenly there beside her, matching her movements with a grin.]

There aren't books here, but there was food, which she had eagerly purchased. And now she is sitting under one of the ugly plastic trees and dozing, skull/mask on and her arms wrapped around the package of real food.
Although one of the URVs (unidentified root vegetables) has seemingly gotten away from the packaging and rolled away.
The real question, Drift Fleet. Are you going to be a nice person and return it or are you going to be a dick and keep it? :D ]
no subject
Eventually, though, she feels like she's finished her work out for now. She drops from the tree she's been using as a pullup station and makes her way over to the tree that is currently sheltering Emblica, kneeling down and giving the smaller girl a light shake on the shoulder.]

For now, Cecil has taken a break from trying to find anyone that the people of the Drift Fleet have been looking for in favor of browsing the vendor stalls, taking in the new sights, smells, and sounds. Her eye has been caught by a stall selling clothing and novelty items, right next to another selling alcohol and cigarettes, and she smiles to herself a little when she spots a small silver cigarette case embellished with rose-shaped engravings all over it. She picks it up and a larger package of cigarettes to take to the merchant to buy. ]
no subject
That's a nice find. I didn't know you smoked.
[She looks older than Cecil more remember, gaunter in the face, no baby fat left, and she doesn't smile so easily. She looks worn out, all in all... but clean and well enough in spite of that.]

He strolled away from the vending machines with purchase and settled on a bench. He patted his pocket and his face pulled rather suddenly into a frown.
If he wasn't an angel, he be cursing]

there's some scary-looking guy out in front of his ship, wearing a heavy black coat. the high collar does very little to hide the fact that his face is painted up like a human skull. it might just be a trick of the space-light, but his eyes seem to be... glowing, softly? he looks irritable and broody while he tries to figure out what he wants to do, but maybe that's just... the way his face is painted...? maybe he's secretly really nice.....?]

[Right now, he can be found looking through the different selection option- trying to figure out what he should get. He's still wearing his brown outfit that he brought into this place, and his long red hair is braided back. He looks a bit disappointed about the crappy selections, but really at this point he's gotten pretty much used to it.]
Well, at least none of the food looks mutated...
no subject
[HI
notBRO, have some guy sidle up next to you, snacking on cheetos. What a fatty. He blinks curiously at the braid and munches on a cheeto thoughtfully.] I like the braid. Makes you look like a man for once. Are you going to keep it like that?(no subject)

[Which like many others, he's going to take advantage of the extra space and use the courtyard to start working out - since seriously, a small cargo bay and treadmill just does not cut it. Push-ups, sit-ups, hand-stand push-ups, using the trees as pull-up bar, throwing punches and kicks at invisible opponents- pretty much anything he can think of. It would probably not be that noteworthy, if it wasn't for the fact he's stripped down to a take top so you can see his arm and hand that is very red in color. What? He doesn't want to get his gloves and shirts all sweaty if he only has a couple outfits]
[Other times, when he's not working out, you might fight him looking around for his friends that were on the other ships- or looking through the food options. Because hey, any food is good to him.]
no subject
Besides, he's normally social to be known, anyway.]
I guess that explains how you're not ten tons, eating all that food. Talk about a workout.

[While everyone's out and about doing actual useful, healthy things, Baroona's standing in front of an arcade fighting machine, watching as various fights play out, showcasing the characters' special moves. While some of the movesets are plainly ridiculous, he can't help but be intrigued by the ones he doesn't know. After a quick glance around to make sure no one's watching, he starts to practice them, following the movements closely and studiously.
Until someone inevitably comes up behind him, that is. Then he'll clear his throat and pat the machine as if he knows what he's doing with it, faking cool.]
b.
[You know what sucks? The future. You know what sucks about the future? Vending machines. It's an odd problem, really. Baroona's had trouble with machines before for being too complex but this one is almost too simple. It's just a lonesome box, staring at him, filled with miscellaneous treasures-one of which he desperately needs. The problem is, he has no idea how to get to them, even after a good half hour of careful examination. Before, it had told him to put his money in, so he had, yet when he had pushed the numbers for cigarettes they refused to fall out. Caught on something inside, maybe. It didn't matter, really. The point was, Baroona didn't have them, the machine did, and he was doing his best to turn the tables.
Even if that meant kicking the damn thing. Or shaking it. Or reaching up the slot-someone please just give him a hand.]

Ah, but before moving her chair towards the store she spots your character in the distance. Everyone from the ship has... a distinctive look to them. So, no matter if she's talked to them or not, she waves politely and smiles]

locked to red fish crew;
I assume both of you have looked over the supplies available. If both of you are amenable to it, I suggest we discuss how we should allocate our money so we get the most use out of it.
Meet me at the ship in half an hour.
Hange
[When the time comes, if both of them turn up... Hange is outside the ship, leaned against it, because she's reluctant to coop herself up again even for a brief meeting. She's whistling tunelessly to herself, the notes dropping like stones in the still air, looking thoughtful for the most part.]

currently, you may find her wandering barefoot all over the waystation, seven long years' worth of thick blond hair (wild and messy and admittedly a little dirty like the rest of her) all bundled up in her arms (or maybe even dragging far behind her, if her arms get tired).
she'll be poking her head into every little nook and cranny to try and find a barbershop, because if she's going to do this, she wants to at least do it right...
but frankly after twenty minutes of wandering around, she's ready to settle for any olf pair of scissors and a steady hand. ]
B: PLAY DRESS UP
she lingers by the dress shops though, eyes brightening longingly over the pretty skirts and material. she has that little bit of money given to her by their elusive host... but she should really spend that on food, shouldn't she? especially if she's on a ship all by herself.
she sighs, lingering still. looking can't hurt, right? ]

Eventually he finds what he was looking for. A bakery. It may come as a surprise but he doesn't use all his money on donuts. In the end he only buys half a dozen. He may need that money later so he decides to try to save it.
He takes his prize, humming happily to himself, to a bench in the center. He pouts a little at the fake trees. Muttering something about how he had hoped they could have had real trees at least. The smile quickly returns to his face however has he reaches into his small box and pulls out the first doughnut. He waves it under his nose and inhales deeply.]
Ahhhh! You sweet little cake of heaven! I'm sorry I was gone for so long! I missed you sooooo much! AHH! I can't wait any longer.
[He takes a huge bite and lets out a muffled, ecstatic yell through closed lips and a mouthful of donut. He swallows and lets out a loud sigh.] AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! I NEEDED THAT! They taste soooooo good!
