[It sure is a lovely day actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

Where are you, droot flooters? What are you up to? Stay out of trouble, now.]

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

[haha, good enough. She's really happy that he came. In fact, this is the first time they're all together, isn't it? This entire experience has been strange, but Nunnally feels an odd sort of bubbling excitement like happiness in her chest. She glances back at Hange.]

WHAT THE HELL I MISSED NUNNER'S COMMENT

I suppose we might as well. We can sit at the table. [She pushes herself off the ship, but pauses and then waves Nunnally forward.]

[he gestures for Nunnally to go in first as well, past him. he scans the courtyard behind them out of habit, but he'll follow them once they're both in.]

[the motor whirs as she follows their lead. Almost in a whisper she glances over her shoulder at Zhas]

Did you have a good day?

[She traipses along, staying quiet to observe a little slice of how Zhas and Nunnally interact.]

[whatever someone said must have gotten to him, because he's playing nice. he doesn't really look at her, but he raises his hand to give a wobbly so-so motion.]

[good enough. Nunnally nods and looks forward while still chatting. She hopes he doesn't consider it rude, but she wants to make sure she doesn't bump into anything]

Yes... the station seemed quite empty, didn't it? It would have been nice if there was more to see. [that likely wasn't the problem he had with it, but still...]

I'm a little surprised. I'd have thought with our supposed audience, there's be some more extras around. [Oh look, they're here... because this ship isn't that big, end to end. Way too small for two powerful working dog personalities like Hange and Zhas to be honest. Hange goes ahead and takes a seat at the galley table, looking relaxed.]

[her question just makes him glance at Hange. The lack of people on the shuttle wasn't his problem...

he pulls a chair away from the table so that he can sit with his back to the wall, arms crossed. this is probably the first time anyone's seen him not standing. it's conveniently left a spot open for Nunnally's wheelchair, though.]

[:') she wonders if that was intentional... And hopes so as she rolls her chair right into the spot. Just in case, she looks back at him and smiles as thanks! :D Then she looks back towards Hange and nods, folding her hands in her lap]

Why don't we? I don't expect this to take very long. [Straight to the point, she is a military woman after all] What I'd like to do is pool the money we have available to buy some personal goods to share. If we work it out properly, we'll be able to buy more varied food to last us hopefully until our next waystation stopover, share it with each other, and still have some money left over for personal goods.

[Nunnally is such a happy person... it's very strange... without thinking, he pulls his scarf up a little more and listens to what Hange has to say.

he can't argue her. it's a good idea. resource management is important. he nods, in agreement.]

[Nunnally also nods!] The food they had was limited, but it will probably be healthier to eat more than just the... [she doesn't know what to call it] food-stuff that is provided on the ship.

As much as I'm happy that we won't struggle with food shortages, [a story of five years of her life back home...] we'll be better off with a more varied diet. If we're all in agreement to combine our money for this, then our next step should be to decide what we get.

For personal recreational goods too, keep in mind that if they can be shared and everyone agrees to share then our resources will go further.

[he doesn't have anything to contribute yet! he looks over at Nunnally to hear what she thinks...]

Ah... [she pauses, as if weighing her options] The only personal good that I'd like to request is a skirt. [they were only provided those jumpsuits, and pants are way harder than skirts to manage] I would be happy to contribute the rest of my funds to the communal pool.

As for what those communal goods should be, I didn't see any medical supplies for sale, basic food seems to be the main thing that they have that I would consider useful and not a comfort item.

Let's say one recreational item to help the time pass faster, a skirt for you, and otherwise we'll spend our money this round on food?

[She doesn't need clothes or anything, the jumpsuits are ugly but she's okay with what she's got.]

[oh. okay. he nods, but knocks his knuckles on the wall behind him since he's got a request of his own.

really easy. he looks at Hange and puts two fingers up where his mouth should be, under the scarf, like he's holding a cigarette.]

That sounds-- [ah, but she quiets down when he knocks on the wall, and watches his miming motion. Cigarettes isn't the first thing that she thinks of, but she catches on. She's not quite sure if she approves (broski that stuff is bad for you!) but to each their own. And anyway, since Hange is the captain and he seems to be asking her, she remains quiet and also turns her attention to Hange.]

[Oh that gets her attention successfully... she looks at Zhas. It takes her a couple seconds but she gets it:]

Oh, cigarettes? Well, if you want... [If he's pitching in and will agree to share some of his other stuff she's not gonna be his mom about cigarettes. Gonna stink up the ship though. They should designate him a smoking room or something, hm.]

[he nods. good job, everyone.

and then he leans back in his chair and crosses his arms again, since the rest of it sounds just fine.]

Then it sounds like we have a plan. Oh, although, for the recreational thing that you mentioned. Did you have anything in mind? [she's just curious, she's fine with whatever hange picks]

Not especially? Something versatile, is my hope. What do you like to do in your spare time at home, Nunnally?

[since Zhas definitely has nothing to contribute to this part of the conversation, he glances at Nunnally to let her have the floor.]

Crafts, I was just learning a bit about paper craft like origami. But I don't know if that would be very interesting for everyone...

Ah, perhaps we could get a game? Or a set of cards?
