[It sure is a lovely day actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

Oh, would you like to see the ship that I'm stationed on? All the ships might have similar layouts, but it could be helpful to see it. [if he'll be visiting :D]

It's the SS Redfish. [her chest puffs a little as she says the name, a slight tell that she really likes her ship]

I imagine it's like all the other ships, it's a little plain. In fact, I don't have many hair ties, but I'm sure we'll be able to think of something...

Man, these ships have the weirdest names. Mine is Three Twins, and I'm pretty sure that makes no sense at all...

...And even if we don't find anything like ribbons, there are some elven braids that don't even need them.

Oh, I've spoken to someone on your ship. [hehe, and even talked about the odd-ness of the name] He also mentioned that it was a strange name. I wonder if there's any reason behind them...

[ah, but she shakes her head as if to say 'eh, not that important'. She's more interested in those braids...] Elven braids? They must be beautiful...

I don't know if I want to know where they got the names from...

[oh oh but the braids get him excited again]

--They are. I only know some of them, but they're pretty good ones.

Did you learn about them from your sister?

Um. Well, we both learned a little of it from our mom.

[he shrugs!]

But mostly it's because I've lived with a lot of elven girls, so... [a small sheepish laugh] ...We learned a lot of them from magazines and stuff, actually.

Hm... that sounds nice to live with many other children close to your age. Were you all close?

[at any sign of discomfort she'll realize that she's prying and calm down... but for now she's getting wrapped up in his story]

Eh, it was okay.

[and he's a pro at dodging and masking discomfort, so he just carries on easy as can be]

Some of us were close. But we more worked together than anything, so it changed around a lot.

[she nods in understanding. While she doesn't exactly see his discomfort, a part of her feels it. Not in a way that she realizes, but the conversation feels less... 'fun'. Either way she smiles a little]

I'm sorry for asking so many questions. Ah! And look, we're almost there. [yay docking bay!]

Man... these ships all look the same to me.

[she laughs a little at that and nods]

I wonder if it would be possible to paint them...?

[kind of falling into a nice obedient place at her heel once they get close]

Seems like a lot of work though. ...Unless it was, like... just painting things on them. Like faces or something.

Hm, or stripes? Or perhaps we could just paint a red fish on the side. Although I'm not even sure what sort of paint is required to be strong enough to endure space. [she shrugs lightly. one of those things that's fun to talk about but isn't really important. Anywho she punches in a code or whatever is required to open the ship, and gestures for him to enter]

That girl, uh... gave me an exam.

...So that's all I've really seen of the ship so far.
