[It sure is a lovely day actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

Where are you, droot flooters? What are you up to? Stay out of trouble, now.]

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

Please tag in if you feel so inclined! Don't be shy to tag around!]

[Ah, well, that sparks Rin's curiosity and she glances over.]

What do you mean, like you? You have powers?

Yes. Where I come from, it's illegal to use magic, but it's possible for me.

[ Good, Rin doesn't seem too unhappy about their meeting. ]

[She's mostly just irked with herself for letting a card slip when she didn't want to, and uncertain what to do - standing shyly at bay, staring nervously at Emblica and her skullface.]

That's my only ability though... what can you do?

It's limited by what one knows. The things I understand, I can alter. Something like the food here, I can't do anything with, but there's much more I can do with plants.

You mean... making them grow and things like that?

[amarant]

Making them grow, making them wither. Things like that, yes.

[She nods, and finally gets it together enough to smile a little. Be friendly, Rin. Emblica hasn't been anything besides courteous and pleasant so far, so Rin can be comfortable putting herself out there at least that much.

Her smile is a shy expression, but she manages it before turning away a little.]

Why are you wearing a skull?

It should be easier to find with more of us looking.

[ She's used to it weirding people out, so she assumes that's what the issue is. ]

I wear it to cover my face.

Ah... [What an unusual thing to do... why would she want to hide that? Rin is curious but at the same time it seems tactless to pry.]

I think a deck of cards would be good entertainment for one of these ships.

[ Aw, Rin. She'd be fine with it. ]

They really are lacking in that. I'd looked for a bookstore, but...there was none here.

[ Shame, that. ]

[Something they can agree on:] That is too bad. Not that there's much to choose from... [And a cranky expression crosses her face]

Although...it is nice not to have to choose between books and proper food, if there is any reason to think well of this place.

[Her sigh says so many words.]

I guess that's good... I'm going to see if I can work with Robin and Riku and Michael. Maybe we can coordinate what to get and share...

It is tiring, having to eat the same things all the time.

[ Pause. ]

You know Robin?

I've known Robin for a while. [She starts moving again, watching Emblica out of the corner of one eye but mostly browsing the shelves, looking at games.] We've jumped worlds together... he's my friend. He's a good friend to have, even if sometimes he's irresponsible.

[amarant]

[ She seems to be occupying herself with looking through the games. Certainly, there's nothing she's familiar with, but it's interesting to look at them! ]

Oh, I'm glad to hear that. He said that we should be friends, too. It's good to know that he's someone I could trust.

[payback]

[She laughs a little, a catch under her breath. She doesn't recognize any of these things either...]

If you see a deck of cards, let me know.

Anyway - don't let him get away with being ridiculous. But actually, he's kind of sweet.

[ After a while, she starts checking in the boxes to see if the elusive cards might be in one of them.

One of the boxes has only dice, no game pieces. ]

At first...I wasn't sure what to think of him. Maybe it's only that I'm not used to people being so friendly.

[She smiles in a dumb fond way at the games in front of her without meaning to smile at them at all.]

I think he likes people. I think he's a little nervous about being in space too... he probably should have more friends.

[amarant]

Are you nervous, too?

[ She has located a pack of cards!

...wait, no, never mind. It's just the box. ]

If he wants, I can be his friend too.

I've been in space before... [Strange to talk about it. She goes quiet for a moment.] That was when I was in another world. Oh, this is stupid, it shouldn't be so hard to find cards!

Anyway, I'm sure if he said that, he'd like it.

[Even if he was maybe just saying that and didn't expect Emblica to really take it seriously. Well, those two can work that out.]

[amarant]

You're awfully brave, Miss Rin.

[ Sighs quietly as another box doesn't turn up much. ]

How so? - Let's go to the next shelves. [She's just quietly annoyed here, not at Emblica, but at the station.]

I think it's impressive to be so calm through all of this.
