[It sure is a lovely day actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

Well, it's just one other and myself and the other of my crew already changed his name once. He might not mind so much, if I were so inclined.

Oh, seeing as I'm his captain, I think it's only right I protect his privacy. If you happen to discover who my crew-mate is on your own, however...

Respectful of you. I like it. But if your crewmates needs to unload, I happen to be a ship counselor, which means, if I remember how this works right, that anything they tell me confidential.

[ There's an official job title for that on some worlds? How strange. Why would people need to pay complete strangers to confide in? ]

I will keep that in mind, but seeing how we more or less govern ourselves at the moment, I'm not certain if a confidentiality promise will be of much importance to him. After all, it's not as if there would be grave consequences for you breaking that rule, right? I've already extended an offer for my crew-mate to talk to me about whatever troubles him, but he prefers his solitude. It will take some time for him to decide to open up to someone, if he decides at all.

Fair enough. These sorts of things don't really work if you force it. You'll do fine looking after them for now. I can tell.

[ She doesn't mind. In fact, she comes to sit with him too once they've shaken hands. Her grip is surprisingly firm for someone who looks as delicate as she does. ]

It's nice to meet you, Michael. Which ship are you aboard?

The good ship Bloodsport. [That name is utter with what might be far too much cheer. He's just amused by it]

[ Thankfully, she's a little too distracted by something else to be weirded out on his tone: ]

Ah! You're a crew-mate of Rin and Robin, then! They are... old friends of mine.

[ Well, "old" is maybe pushing it, but still. ]

That so? They're interesting kids. [He knows he's using that term somewhat ironically, but hey]

[ Well, she would consider Rin rather young, but she knows Robin definitely isn't. She promised Robin she wouldn't share his secret though, so she writes it off as Michael merely not knowing what Robin is and doesn't correct him. ]

We found ourselves in a place... that functioned similarly to this. It was called Court. It drew many of us from different universes and trapped us there. Are you getting along all right?

Oh, I'm doing just fine. Interested to see what they have planned for us. Something tell me this [he gestures around at the bland, lifeless space] isn't it.

What do you think they do have planned for us then?

I don't know...[And his expression becomes more serious and distant a moment. He's secretly unsettled that he can't see that far ahead here.]

Exploration. Adventure. Combat. Mystery. Could be anything. Or everything.

[ That is an interesting reaction. She takes note of it and decides to press him a little bit more. ]

We are someone else's entertainment, are we not? We don't know what exactly entertains this unseen audience though.

We don't. Because that's just it, isn't it? Who are they? What are they?

Their choice in entertainment strikes me as rather perverse. It's worrying, to say the least. The implications of that as to what and who they are exactly doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence that no one will get hurt or subjected to terrible things while here.

What this is. People tape all kinds of things and then broadcast them out for other people to watch. A lot of it's fake, you know, like plays. But there's some that isn't. I think there was even a show that was practically just people tripping and falling. Huge hit.
