[It sure is a lovely ~~day~~ actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

[she nods] I feel very lucky to have such a chair. When I was younger I had a much simpler one... this is a wonderful improvement.

It is fascinating, how quickly things like that can be improved upon. Human progression never stops.

I'd like to learn as much as I can, through my life.

I think that's a very admirable goal! There's certainly a lot to learn... And then, it's nice to think that what you learn can be passed on to future generations.

It would be nice...for that to be what people remember of me someday.

It wasn't a distraction. I still have no idea what I want to buy... And more than that, I'm not sure if our ship is pooling our resources. I'll likely need to wait and make a decision tomorrow.

There should be other chances like these, too...it would be nice when the time comes where we don't have to choose between food and entertainment.

Hm, if we could get anything that we wanted? [it's hard to say. she ponders the question for a moment]

Something that reminds me of home, I suppose. Sheets and sheets of origami paper.

Is that a special kind of paper?

[ She feels so uncultured, haha. ]

Well... it doesn't have to be. But certain stores sell paper that is perfectly square and printed with beautiful patterns. One could technically make origami with any kind of paper, but that's the best kind to use.

Hm...and how do you do it?

[ She'd try it, definitely. ]

[she glances around but doesn't seem to find what she's looking for. So she holds up her left hand, palm up and fingers pulled together so that it lies flat.]

There are lots of patterns, if you fold the paper in certain ways-- [she folds her fingers over her palm as best she can to demonstrate the point] and you keep folding it, it will look like something. Like small ships, dogs, birds... those kind of things.

Oh, how nice. If we can find some paper for it, I'd like to see you make something.

I'm not very good. My-- [she pauses and looks a little embarrassed] friend Sayako was much better. She's the one who taught me.
