[It sure is a lovely day actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

Well... it doesn't have to be. But certain stores sell paper that is perfectly square and printed with beautiful patterns. One could technically make origami with any kind of paper, but that's the best kind to use.

Hm...and how do you do it?

[ She'd try it, definitely. ]

[she glances around but doesn't seem to find what she's looking for. So she holds up her left hand, palm up and fingers pulled together so that it lies flat.]

There are lots of patterns, if you fold the paper in certain ways-- [she folds her fingers over her palm as best she can to demonstrate the point] and you keep folding it, it will look like something. Like small ships, dogs, birds... those kind of things.

Oh, how nice. If we can find some paper for it, I'd like to see you make something.

I'm not very good. My-- [she pauses and looks a little embarrassed] friend Sayako was much better. She's the one who taught me.

I already know you'll be better than I am, isn't that a start?
