[It sure is a lovely ~~day~~ actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

Where are you, droot flooters? What are you up to? Stay out of trouble, now.]

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

[he watches her stumble. eventually, he lifts her hand gently up to his face to press the backs of her fingers against his cheek.]

Is it better or worse than being a creature with dominion over human agony?

[ That quickly puts things in perspective for her and after a moment of just staring at him in stunned realization how petty she must seem to him, she closes her eyes and curls her fingers around his hand, rubbing her knuckles against his face affectionately with a small smile of disbelief aimed at herself.

No, it's not worse. They both might have had their responsibilities forced on them, but his lot is likely far more painful and difficult. ]

...They made me Baron's new queen.

[whenever you feel bad, just think about Robin's life! at least he can use it to put a few things in perspective. his expression stays... very neutral while she says this. he's had kind of an invested, vaguely surprised, almost expectant look on his face since she started explaining, and with the big reveal, it... does not go away, at all.

he blinks, once, as wheels start turning back behind his eyes. but then--she can practically see the lightbulb go off when he realizes that is the end of the story.]

Oh. How long are beings like you supposed to live?

[yep. that was his reaction.]

[ It is a reaction exactly like that that reassures she did indeed choose the right person to tell. Imagine if it'd been Rin or Barakiel or anybody else. Robin, on the other hand, just doesn't care about this kind of stuff. ]

Lunarians? A while. Hundreds of years.

[he nods a little; it informed his opinion of the situation somehow. he still seems a little wide-eyed, but he takes a new guess.]

And you're keeping this a secret because... you don't really want to be queen?

I can't say it's something I ever aspired to be or wanted to be.

[ She sighs a little. ]

Robin... I've told you because you don't see things the same way everyone else does. Rin, my crew, your crew, Barakiel... I don't want it to change how they see me, how they react to me. A lot changed because of this at home and I don't want it to happen here. The title means nothing here, so there is no reason why anyone else should have to know.

I just have to get home, as soon as possible.

[sounds right. if she wanted to flaunt her new status, she wouldn't be keeping it a secret. if she thought it was the right fit, even humbled, she wouldn't have spoken about it so... hesitantly.

but, this presents a perfect opportunity. he puts his hand on her head and leans in, faces close, a big smile spreading across his face.]

Let's make it simple, then. I won't tell anyone that you're the queen of your country if you don't tell anyone I'm an ancient servant of the Gods. How does that sound?

[ She looks a little bewildered by the hand on her head, but she doesn't move away. Instead, she huffs a little, embarrassed by his proposition. ]

I wouldn't tell anyone that.

[ But telling Riku to look after Robin and Rin because they're not nice to themselves is totally fair game. ]

It's a deal.

I mean it, though. No telling people I'm immortal, either.

[but he takes his hand off of her head, leans back a bit--has a quirky smile on his face.]

But, don't you worry. Your secret is safe with me.

[ She nods, her tone a little teasing when she answers. ]

What sort of person do you think I am? I don't break my word so easily. I promise.

[ However, she does add for good measure with a much more serious countenance: ]

Oh, and... one more thing? Don't kiss me like that again unless you want it to go somewhere.

[ah, well. he sighs, head dropping to the side. it's a little hard to tell whether he's disappointed or just embarrassed. maybe leaning more towards the latter. it's times like this that he really misses home; he could just do shit like this and then run away from responsibility the moment it starts to go wrong.]

That's fair. I'm-- [stop apologizing.] I won't.

[ She closes her eyes again then and nods. As much as she likes Robin and wouldn't mind kissing him again and more, she's doubts it would mean as much to him as she would want it to. And she refuses to put herself through casually sharing her body like that again.

Still, she doesn't want him to think she's angry with him, so she reaches up to stroke his hair affectionately. ]

[o-okay. that's fine. he hums a little, smiling despite himself--it's weird to not get a buzz from it, after all that time in Court, but it's still pretty great.]
