open mingle post;
Who: Everyone on the waystation!
Broadcast: n/a
Action: open to everyone to tag into
When: October 11, 2014
[It sure is a lovelyday actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.
Where are you, droot flooters? What are you up to? Stay out of trouble, now.]
[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.
Please tag in if you feel so inclined! Don't be shy to tag around!]

there's some scary-looking guy out in front of his ship, wearing a heavy black coat. the high collar does very little to hide the fact that his face is painted up like a human skull. it might just be a trick of the space-light, but his eyes seem to be... glowing, softly? he looks irritable and broody while he tries to figure out what he wants to do, but maybe that's just... the way his face is painted...? maybe he's secretly really nice.....?]

How did she not see this before...
She was getting off to go roam around too, but before she goes, she leeeans closer to his face.]
Did you always have cat's eyes?

but his gaze is already on her when she talks. he seems unusually still, assessing. he doesn't say anything, but his head tilts a little out of some subconscious, unasked question.
and what the hell are you?]
no subject
Is there something wrong?
[ The mouth doesn't move, and her voice is definitely coming from inside/under the skull. ]

(ignoring the blinding irony of the situation...)
he drops into a crouch. it's very sudden. defensive. his eyes look predatory, though, tracking for movement. observing.]

She's wearing the flex armor suits that security-augmented crew members have and her communicator in one hand. When she's close, she definitely notices his eyes and that he seems to be wearing face-paint, but she doesn't make any remarks about either thing, let alone appears unnerved. ]
Excuse me... I'm terribly sorry to bother you, but I was wondering-- are you part of the Drift Fleet?
no subject
she doesn't feel like trouble. not like Saoirse did. she's a lot shorter than he was imagining. the flex armor means she's probably a security officer like he is. she is either genuinely unafraid of him, or she keeps her concerns very well hidden.
...eventually, he nods.]

[ The time it takes him to respond at all because he's too busy looking her over (yes, she notices) does strike her as a little strange, but considering he's part of the fleet and doesn't do anything that's threatening, she lets it roll off her back and she sets down her few bags to take a couple steps closer to him. She brings up a posting on her communicator and presents it to him, showing him the list from concerned hopefuls asking for their friends that she started yesterday. ]
My name is Cecil, I'm on the Wonderduck, and I was wondering if you've seen or heard from anybody matching these descriptions.
no subject
he shakes his head, though. hasn't seen anyone.]
no subject
I see.
[ She sighs deeply and puts the communicator away, picking up her bags again. After a brief moment, she manages to smile at him. ]
Thank you for taking a look. You're not the first to say no, so I'm hoping that means they're all safe and sound at home.

she's totally staring.
but in her defense! she doesn't mean to. she'd been tentatively moving out from her own ship and unto the docks, but it had been pretty slow-goings, given her uncertainty, that when she actually notices something lingering around the area, too, she can't help but stop and look over.
and then she just keeps looking over, because he looks like every scary drawing of an earthen grim reaper that she'd ever gotten her hands on, and before she knows it, she's just standing about ten feet away, gaping at him. ]
no subject
either way, eventually her staring is going to get her looked at. his gaze slides over to her like he expects her to do or say something, the rest of him holding bizarrely still.]
no subject
she squeaks, caught, one hand flying up to her mouth meekly. ]
S-Sorry..! I didn't mean to stare!
[ gj cress, you probably just totally offended this guy. ]
no subject
he still doesn't say anything, though. he smirks a little (kind of terrifying with his mouth already painted like teeth) but goes back to looking in the other direction. she's off the hook.]
no subject
They were very long tentacles.
[Says the petite, rainbow-dreaded, mismatched eye girl with absolutely no preamble to her unsuspecting skull-faced
victim - entertainmentcompanion.no subject
and just... stares for a while. because... really?]
no subject
Really really.
