[It sure is a lovely day actually pretty much indeterminate time period out here in the vast darkness of space, isn't it? I bet everyone's enjoying themselves, getting a chance to get off their dinky little ship and stretch their legs. Even on this shitty, empty little waystation.

[ooc: hi everyone! I thought I'd give this a try and see how the game liked it. What we have here is a mass mingle post. Rather than everyone making a bunch of different posts about landing on the station, everyone is invited to post a parent comment with their character out and about, doing something. Everyone else is invited to look at who's posted, tag them, post their own parent comments, thread jack, tag around and generally have a grand old time! It should hopefully be a nice low-pressure way to do some action tagging with each other.

I don't think I can do as much here as I could normally, but...

She takes out the vegetable that looks the least palatable, some kind of...bizarre radish/carrot thing? and starts.

The leaves at the top begin growing, and a small vine comes from the middle of them, at the end of which is...another bizarre radish/carrot thing.

The air's different; it might not be obvious, but there's a weird...sour taste to the air, like a lemon. Magic is weird. ]

...I think that's as much as I can do with it.

[She watches and her eyes widen in avid interest. Amazing... far beyond the capacity of any human from home... and this ability isn't something that Hange can see turned towards martial purposes, as it is... but the food shortages that forced 250,000 humans to be turned out and left at the mercy of titans might never have occurred if this ability was present amongst human ranks. Though it's not a tool for war it's a highly useful ability regardless. Maybe not one to rebel with, but one to envy.]

You could start your own onboard garden...

Maybe...the only things I could grow would be what I have, and I don't have any soil or containers to keep them in.

If they're edible, I'm sure your crew would appreciate a renewable source of food, too.

If you can find the supplies you need, it could be good to try.

I'd like to...when I'm able to afford them, I'd like to buy some of the books that are at the stations. They must be unlike anything I've read before.

It's quite something to think about, isn't it...?

[She looks away from Emblica... thinking suddenly of something quite different. She's been wishing for wings for so long, humanity could have done so much with pinfeathers and pinions... a bit more height. Just a bit more of everything, and she'd be able to do what she needed to do. And now here they are and how did they get here?]

I hope you have the time and money. If you get your hands on some I hope you'll be inclined to share.

I'd like that, it's been a long time since I've had someone to talk with about reading. What sort of books do you like?

I don't reach much for recreation and we don't have extensive history for the books... I suppose I like informative texts. I don't have much time for reading at all, though.

These books might be very interesting. [And since it seems like they'll have a lot of spare time now...]

I suppose you'll have a bit more time now...it may just be true for my own talents, but it's wise to gain understanding of as many things as you can.

I suppose it depends on your circumstances. In mine, often teamwork is synonymous with survival.

Where I come from, teamwork is just a way to let others take credit for what you do.
