Apparently many people on the Fleet seem to be suffering from sadness. I have come up with some suitable solutions for you.

One: Crying. (This works for many)
Two: Drinking. (I'm less sure of this)
Three: Cuddling.

These usually work from what I've seen of people with . . . feelings. Hopefully you will all recover soon.

I've never known someone to have that many names before. I will use Doudanuki then.

Rust, you shoulda heard some of the humans I used to belong to. Or some of the other swords. Dunno why they had to have such long names. Stuff like the formal name, family name, first name, casual name, I don't even know.

[He thinks his name is simple - his smith and his smith's house. Pure and simple.]

What is the strangest name you've heard?

[Ugh, thinking back on the hundreds of different masters he's had is impossible. Being that he's got the consciousness of every sword ever made by his swordsmith in his head and he was a mass produced weapon, he's stuck for a good long time and he combs through his memories.]

I dunno, but lords had a lot of names and some of 'em changed depending on what title they had.

One of my first masters was called Kato Kiyomasa, but his court title was Higo-no-Kami 'cause he ruled the Higo Province. He also had a couple other titles that weren't all that interestin' to me.

As a kid I heard he was called Yashamaru, but his first name was actually Toranosuke. In the future, people call him Seishokou-san

How . . . absurdly complicated.

In comparison, sword name's ain't that hard. It's just our smith name and if we got a name ourselves.

Sort...of? [He takes a breath as he readies to tell the not all that fascinating story of his life in brief.]

Someone made my blade. A hundred years later, my spirit came to live in it.

A few hundred years after that, my Saniwa summoned my spirit outta the sword and gave me this body I'm walkin' around in now.

What a brief yet convenient story.

I dunno what you wanna hear. Tsukumogami spend the first hundred years waitin' for something to be around and cared for long enough that we can come live in it. Until then, we don't got a lot of [He vaguely gestures with one hand, clunking it against his helmet in his lap.] stuff going on.

'Sides I wasn't used or collected for anythin' so I spent most of my life sitting in basements and warehouses or gettin' melted for scrap metal.

I'm not looking for anything in particular. It's just unusual, even by the Fleet's standards.

Why, what's everyone else's story?

I don't know all of them. Most people are normal or have magic. Witches, mages, those kinds of people.

So most of 'em are human?

[He was hoping there'd be more spirits or something here, but oh well.]

I believe so, for the most part. I haven't met many non-humans yet.

[He huffs and sighs.]

Figures. Haven't run into many humans since I was summoned, but now I'm surrounded by 'em.

What were you normally surrounded by? . . . Swords?

Swords, a few spears, a naginata, yeah. My Saniwa was pretty much the only human we had contact with other than if they took us to the stores. [Which, thankfully, his Saniwa rarely ever took him.]

I guess, the troop spirits, but they usually stayed in their orbs.

We weren't supposed to mess with you humans, 'cause we can really freak you guys out sometimes.

I can imagine. Still, it would be an interesting experience. I lost my agiels when I came here. I would be curious to hear what they say.

[ they'd probably scream a lot, being torture weapons. ]

If they last long enough and you take good care of 'em, it might happen.

[That said, it's not like 99% of people would be able to notice unless they turned evil.]

What's an agiel? [He tries really hard not to mangle that pronunciation.] That's a new kinda weapon I've never heard of.

It's a weapon that causes pain with a single touch. Most people cannot even carry it.

Well shit, that sounds awful.

[But awesome? But also awful. He isn't sure what sort of spirit would live in a thing like that. It'd have to be able to deal with the pain, first of all.]
