[ YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THAT IS, KURT and he can have kitty translate it if you insist. ]

On the Iskaulit - Beverly and Riona are putting it together.

[Is it a food item?]

Ah. [And of course the light comes back around just in time to catch Kurt looking uncertain.] I never said I was good at it.

[He should probably try that with someone who doesn't have video evidence that Kurt was trained to do exactly that from a young age.]

[ NO he has had his fill of friends trying to eat him! what is wrong with all of you! ]

It's community theater, man.

[ he's not going to hold anything over his head, he's here to encourage not pressure. ]

[Stop looking so yummy.

Kurt looks vaguely perplexed, because what difference would that make? But he shrugs all the same and makes a note to ask Kitty later, if he remembers.] I'll think about it.

So, did Kitty give you that anniversary present yet?

[ he can't help it!

he's surprised when kurt brings it up, he's been debating how to do it without making things accidentally awkward, so it's a good kind of surprise that makes everything about it soften. ]

She did, yeah. I owe you one of these - [ and he leans in for a tight hug because you know what, in your own special way he gets what you were trying to say with it. and he loves you too. ]

[Then get used to being nibbled on.

Maybe it's the softness of his surprise, or the fact that part of Kurt's been expecting a show of affection since he recorded his awkwardly worded message, but Kurt doesn't tense when Winn moves to hug him. He wraps his arms around the other man, his tail sneaking around his waist to echo the squeeze of a warm hug.

Literally: the man is practically a human heater. Figuratively as well, because:] Sorry I couldn't say what I wanted to. Too many witnesses, and I'm only good with words when I'm wooing someone. [He punctuates with a soft laugh.]

[ winns are friends, not food!

the warmth with which his gesture is returned is another welcomed surprise, and he laughs softly, fondly, at those words. ]

Don't worry, I got it. [ he feels loved. ] Me too. Just - don't take me skydiving.

[That's not what she said.

Kurt gives generally good, genuine hugs when he's not self-conscious about it. As he gently pulls away, his own laugh is short and impish.]

Much as I would like someone to join me, it was a joke. I had to do something to scare you, lest you think I've been possessed.

[ oh my god, kurt. ]

I appreciate the concern. [ he grins right back at him. really, people being glitched or replaced by multiverse counterparts is a genuine legitimate fear in the fleet! ]

[It's true though.]

My only concern is the comfort of others. [Said with far too much sarcasm, because Kurt likes to pride himself on being a jerk and defiant in the face of other's discomfort. That is, until they matter to him.]

Not a bad one to have.

[ no sarcasm here. yeah, he knows from experience how much kurt enjoys being a jerk - but look at them now. he's gotten him a drink, made him a loving video, that's pretty damn considerate. ] Wanna grab a seat somewhere? I think my ears are starting to bleed - [ it's loud on that stage. ]

[A very awkward loving video because there were witnesses and Kurt couldn't reference one of the things he's most grateful to Winn for.]

Oh, it's loud for you too? [Asked as Kurt turns to lead a path through the club, weaving between their fellow club-goers like he's made of liquid instead of flesh and bone.] I'm never quite certain which of my senses are normal and which aren't.

[ it's the love that matters to winn, he's always awkward he'd be a terrible hypocrite if he minded it in anyone else. kurt can always reference it in person though, if he wants. ]

It's definitely human-loud levels here.

[He intends to.

After they claim a seat. On spotting a table slightly away from the dancing with enough seating for Kitty to squeeze in if she showed, Kurt jerks his thumb toward it in silent inquiry.]

[ he nods and grabs one of those seats. ]

Good find.

[Kurt settles himself into another, pushing it back far enough to crouch on the seat instead of sitting.]

Danke. Figured we should save the lady a seat if she happens by.

She'll appreciate it.

[ it's highly likely, kitty comes to see him perform a lot. ]

[Kurt grins, knocks back a little of his drink before continuing.]

Speaking of Katzchen, how did the two of you enjoy your anniversary celebrations? [The hint of mischief hopefully hides the pang the subject brings; if Wrath were still here they'd be celebrating too, and she'd have probably talked him into clothing that was more elaborate than dark and vaguely reminiscent of a pirate (it's the sleeves.)]

It was amazing.

[ he nods. it's loud and dark enough that hints are easy to miss. ]

Did she tell you what I got her?

[Just as planned. He's here to have fun, not to brood.]

I filmed a puppet baseball game, built us bleachers and a seadog stand, and took her to watch it. Got Steve to commentate it, too.

[ he's really proud of it, okay, it took a lot of work. ]

[Kurt starts grinning at baseball, and the corners of his mouth don't stop spreading until Winn's finished describing the set-up.]

Careful, Winn. That's how a man gets proposed to!

[ he laughs because simultaneous proposals would be about their brand of awkward. ]

Actually it's more like how a man gets shoved into the next room and have his mind blown.

That's my Kitty!

[Maybe it's inappropriate for him to sound so proud of her, but oh well, he is who he is.]

[ it's inappropriate for winn to talk about it, particularly to her best friend, didn't stop him! ]
