Prompto Argentum | OTA
[Prompto is used to sprawling cities, but this is something else. Insomnia was grand, but nothing like this. He wants to capture everything through his lens. The moons, sun set, sun rise, the people, the buildings. More buildings. Get lost with him as he tries to find something more interesting than buildings!]
[ Beach ]
[It's an awkward position, squatting and leaning over his right leg so far, he almost topples. But that's what it takes to get that perfect shot of a clean swatch of beach and a vast expanse of ocean while cutting out all the advertisements. It was perfect. Could almost pass for Galdin Quay.
He looked up from the display and sighed.]
It's pretty disappointing, isn't it?
[ Job ]
[Of course, in the course of all his running around, he's found things. Things he thinks his friends would want. Things he would dearly love to get them, because they are the best and deserve everything and more. Things that cost money.
So he gets a job. It's a pretty easy job, in his honest opinion. He's an errand boy. He runs all around finding things, picking things up, delivering things. He has a ton of experience in this field.
Feel free to intercept him during any of his runs.]
[ Wildcard ]
[Catch him anywhere!]
Beach
Hm?
[She looked over at Promto where he was...bending rather ridiculously to get his shot, but said nothing until he had straightened up. Then she just gave a faint shrug.]
It is...not so bad.
no subject
[He sighs at the ocean one last time before turning to stride across the sand toward her.]
I just...you'd think a world this much advancement would have been able to save one park. Or a forest. Or ... something.
no subject
Maybe they do not mind it.
[Not all races had to live breezes and trees, right?]
It would be nice, though. The amusement parks are not...right.
no subject
You didn't like the amusement parks? [He loved them. But they weren't for everyone.]
no subject
No, I-
I do. But it is not the same as a park. Or a forest.
no subject
Gotcha. You're right. It's not the same at all. Back on my world, I got used to wide open spaces. Things are kind of claustrophobic now.
[Not even kind of. He's actually claustrophobic and thank the gods the Iskaulit and its mass.]

You look a little lost, bud.

[Prompto caught him a little off guard, but he recovered quick. He shook his head.]
Not really lost? I'm just kind of overwhelmed, I guess. This is bigger than any city I've been to. I spent most of time in a rural area.
[He'd been to Vegas once. You couldn't live in Nevada and not. But he didn't really get immersed in it like this. This place was also waaaaay bigger than Vegas.]
no subject
I come from a pretty big city. Not this big, but Insomnia was impressively huge.
[Was. Not any more. Now it's an impressive pile of rubble.
He shakes his head and smiles brightly.]
Anything you want to see in particular?
no subject
[He gave Prompto a weak smile in return.]
There's a lot here, so I'm not even sure where to start.

beach
At least it's not covered in seashells. Lots of beaches in my world didn't even have sand.
[ Look at the ocean! And it's not terribly cold! Far better than Britain. ]
no subject
He glances over at her, grins.]
I've never seen a beach covered in seashells. Sounds kinda cool, actually. Not - not that I doubt you, or anything. I don't have a lot of beach experience. [Growing up in an enclosed city will do that. He hastily offers his hand, hastily remembering he has manners. Somewhere.] Sorry. I'm Prompto.
no subject
Turning back to look at the beach, she nods. ]
It's not as fun as it sounds, trust me. You can't take your shoes off and most of the time you can't really go in the ocean because it's so cold. [ Reaching out, she offers her hand. ] Hermione Granger. It's very nice to meet you, Prompto.
no subject
Ahhh. As long as there's no snow. [That's a kind of cold he can't stand. He'd always wondered, as a kid, what snow was like. He decided he hates it. A lot.] It's hot where I'm from. Which is unfortunate. I mean, look at me. My first day on the beach, I turned bright red. But ... it was worth it.
no subject
There's nothing wrong with snow in moderation, I suppose. I used to go to school where it snowed every winter and it was absolutely lovely. [ It depends on how warm you get, though, and Hogwarts was always wonderful. ] You could get some sunscreen to protect your face, you know. [ But she's smiling and she could definitely magic some up. ] It would be terrible if you ended up peeling.
no subject
Guess I wasn't prepared for sunny beaches. It's alright, I'll find something later.
[He rubs at his nose, afraid it's already begun to peel. At best, his freckles will be even worse. But skin like his can go from pale to crispy in a snap.]

Beach
He pushed his sunglasses up into his hair as he considered Prompto. ]
Suppose that depends on what you were expecting.
no subject
More sand and scenery, less in-your-face marketing. Like, I'm 100% percent there's a buoy out there with an ad for air freshener.
[He'd had to zoom in to read it, but it's there.]
no subject
Unfortunately some planets are like this. Corporations rule, not people, and everything else gets tossed in the name of a buck.
[ He glanced at the camera around the others neck. ]
Maybe you could do something with the play of light from the ads?
[ He was no photographer, not even all that artistic, but he did feel his exasperation. He would prefer a bare beach to the noisy kerfuffle that raged on. ]
Or maybe if you sky dived. I think the ads can only go so high.
no subject
[He smiled crookedly, tapping his camera lens.]
Sure! I'm not against using every source available to me. Even makes for interesting photos. But there's also something about seeing nature the way it's meant to be seen, you know?
[A small snort at the suggestion.]
Uh, maybe? I'm not really into falling from high places, though.
no subject
Yeah, I suppose so. But, if you ask me, there's something nice about a city too. Especially at night. The lights - buildings and cars even the people - it's like capturing a single breath of a place that's alive. They have their own kind of beauty.
[ Such a statement might have been more profound if an add had not chosen that moment to glide into view and Kirk quickly snapped a 'no' at it, the ad sliding on. ]
Oh, it can be exhilarating. You might as well give it a try once, right? While you can.
no subject
[At least Insomnia had made room for parks and green space despite being enclosed behind the Wall, and didn't choke its people with advertising.]
You say that as though I don't endanger my life on a regular basis.
