[Seeing the destruction of the planet has been hard on everyone, but it definitely has a specially bad effect on this particular group. Losing a planet like this is what the pilots fight to avoid, what Shay almost got through. It's incredibly frustrating.

So add that to the fact they aren't all living in the same ship like it happens at home, and well. These little family is some serious need of bonding time. Just making a pile of astroexplorers and letting them bask in each other's comfort.

That's how they end up having a sleepover on the Iskaulit, the lecture hall to be more precise. They push away tables and chairs, scatter all the pillows and blankets they brought from their own ships, and get comfy for a night with friends.

There are snacks (courtesy of Hunk of course), some non-alcoholic drinks (while Shiro wouldn't mind them drinking a bit, he thinks them being kinda down is not a good moment for that) and probably some games that could go funny enough... or an absolute mess when their augments decide to glitch.

Watch out for the pillow fight. Shiro plays to win.]

[Keith narrowed his eyes a little. Well, then... if Lance was going to make this competitive, who was Keith to stop him?

He lunged forward, using the pillow almost like a battering ram.]

[He yelps, toppling off balance. Lance hadn't expected Keith to use the pillow like a fricken battering ram. But, fine! Two can play at that game. Once he's gotten his balance, he leaps right back at him, intent on toppling him over to bop him right in the head with his pillow.]

[Keith managed a block, barely, and a few feathers escaped the seam of one of the pillows. The sight kind of amused him for a second, and he smirked. New goal: Get the pillow to burst on Lance in order to cover him with feathers.

Keith swung back again, the pillow making an arc for Lance's chest.]

[Oof. Keith's strong, yes, but it doesn't mean he's not going to fight back with all of him that he can! He starts to thwack him as hard as he can with his own pillow, features escaping as well.]

Don't...underestimate a guy with tons of experience!

[Keith honestly didn't care if he got covered in feathers. It was worth it if he could do it to Lance. His smirk widened a bit, and he just took a few hits for the sake of getting in and underneath to land a few of his own. He wasn't letting up any time soon, either.]

[Lance's smile turns into a grin as he braces himself, then as soon as Keith pulls back for a moment, pounces.

He tackles him to the (thankfully cushioned with blankets) floor beneath him, trying to thwap him with his pillow as much and hard as he can while he has the position advantage.]

[Keith actually did let out a small yelp in response to that, but he wasn't letting up either. It took a bit of effort, but he managed to maneuver his leg around and brace it well enough to roll them over, landing on top to return the favor.]

Keeeeeith!

[He struggles a little underneath them, hitting him again as some more feathers fly out. Fine, roll him over, but Lance hooks a leg around him as well. He won't let him get up at least.]

Oh, don't start whining... you started this.

[But, Keith wasn't angry anymore as he said that.

As for being trapped... his goal wasn't escape, so he wasn't too concerned. He was still trying to get his pillow to bust a seam and cover Lance in feathers.]

[It doesn't take much longer. Lance coughs when a feather flies into his mouth, and spits it out. He's growls a little, hitting him harder with his own pillow before it bursts on top of Keith's head as well.]

[The initial burst of his own pillow was enough to get a small laugh and, now without a weapon, he had nothing to fight back with. So, he just put up his hands, crossing his arms in defense until the other pillow finally exploded into a cloud of white downy feathers.

He coughed, waving his hand to keep them out his own mouth, but then, like with the food fight, started just laughing.]

[Honestly? He can't keep a straight face after that. Especially when Keith's laughing like this, and both of them are covered in feathers. Lance bursts out laughing as well, harder than he has in a while, and for a little bit, it's enough to make him forget about the depressing thoughts plaguing his mind.]

You look like a chicken, Keefie!

So? You do, too- [Wait... what did he call him?]

Keef...fie...?

What, you've never had anyone come up with a nickname for you?

[He waves his hands before brushing some feathers out of his own hair.]

[Keith frowned a bit. It sounded so... childish. He shook his head.]

That just sounds dumb.

Fits you, then.

[He grins up at him, his usual teasing smile.]

[Keith frowned, an annoyed look, and then threw the now empty pillow case at Lance's face before sitting up and pulling away.]

Whatever.

Keith-- Oh, come on, we were having fun, weren't we? What's with that look again?

[His smile drops into a frown, and he sits up, still plucking feathers out of his hair. Old habits died hard, and it was so difficult to figure out what Keith would take as their usual ribbing and what he'd actually get upset about.]

I told you. I don't like being called dumb.

And, for that? I don't like dumb nicknames, either.

[He had issues... Sorry, Lance.]

Right, right... Sorry.

[He grows quiet, scratching absently at his face. Boy, he thinks, he really can't go five minutes without shoving his foot in his mouth, can he?]

[Keith sighed.]

Sorry...

[It was mumbled, but Keith felt bad for overreacting like that and kind of wrecking the moment. He pulled his legs up to his chest and looked away.]

's not your fault. I knew better.

[He fiddles around with one of the feathers still in his lap, pulling little chunks of it out bit by bit, needing to do something with his hands right now.]

I still overreacted...

[Keith twirled one of the feathers between his fingers for a moment, then, after considering it, he tried to lighten the moment by reaching over and sticking it in Lance's hair. Peace offering?]

I shouldn't have given you something to react like that to in the first--

[He blinks at the feather suddenly in his hair. Slowly, the corners of his lips start to quirk into a smile again.]

Well, how's it look? Think I can pull off the accessory?

Mm...

[Keith stared for a second, pretending to think about it.]

You still look like a ridiculous chicken.
