[She's put this off for weeks now in the vain hope that Fenris would suddenly turn back up one day, grumpy as usual. Some people only vanish briefly, don't they? But there's only so many double shifts she can pull, and while they've been welcome in the order of not thinking about various things (this place, all those deaths, her death, and oh Luceti, that's an interesting one) there comes a point where you both (a) have to acknowledge you're in denial and (b) fall asleep in the shuttle bay before you ever leave the Iskaulit.

Damn you, Fenris. It's not going to be the same without you. This is your friend's bar.]

I guess it's that time of year again. The Space Bar needs new staff! I'm looking for someone with decent bartending experience or just someone who's really fast at learning. Pay's good, so if you'd like an extra source of credits for work you choose to be doing, hit me up. I'm also looking for one or two people who'd be willing to act as relief staff, because this place does a number on reliability at the best of times.

[Like when its proprietor vanishes completely for a month, that was fun.]

....also, tell me if you've found a favourite food or drink on this planet. I'm restocking, it benefits everyone if I can have on hand what people enjoy the most.

I wonder if anyone on Fleet knows how to make it. I mean, I can definitely keep an eye out for it when we visit new areas, it's bound to show up again eventually.

[It's not her thing unless it's super cold, but variety is a great thing.]

I don't know. [He blows out a breath, vaguely annoyed.] Even I don't know how to make it, and I've had plenty of time to find out.

[He just had better things to do. Like buy it from someone else who'd already done the work.]

It's probably not hard. Making it taste good is a whole 'nother matter. I'll ask around! [Grin.]

At least we have alcohol here, anyway. Our last place I had to go sober for nearly a year.

Oh, yeah. I guess that part's more important.

[Unless you want to drink absolute rubbish, which Thor does not. Both his eyebrows go up incredulously though at the idea of being out of alcohol for an entire year.]

What, really? This was in the Fleet?

No. Have you heard much about people being stuck in other places before this one? I was in Adstringendum, which was a ruined wasteland where everyone had to hunt their own food down.

[Not that hard. The liquor shortage, though...tragic state of events.]

I heard a little about it, and I have met a few.

[What had really stuck in his mind at the time was hearing that Loki had been in one of these places. When Loki returned to the Fleet however - both times - he didn't seem to know anything about it.]

So a less hospitable prison than this one.

Pretty much. We made do. And I would have preferred to go home, but if I end up stuck in another place, at least this one has booze.

[Thor makes a face, somewhere between annoyance at all these multidimensional prisons out there, and gladness that at least Nami has found a bright side to it all.]

You'll get home eventually, as will we all. The drinks do make up for it in the meantime.

It not quite the same thing, but I got trapped on another world back home for a while. It's very frustrating.

[She's...not sure going home is ever in the cards for her right now, but that's a topic she keeps close to her chest. Instead she smiles.]

It sucks, doesn't it? What kind of world was it?

It was trash. Literally, I mean. It was a world where endless cast-offs and lost things ended up. I nearly got hit with half a broken spaceship falling out of the sky in the first five minutes I was there.

Sounds like fun. [No, it doesn't.] How'd you manage to leave?

Well, it's a long story, but I broke out of slavery there, stole a spaceship, and then flew it through the Devil's Anus.

[Yes, that is a sentence he just said.]

Oh! Right. It was a huge wormhole, that's just the name of it. If I could've picked a better titled one I would have, but it had to be that one.

[A shrug. The name was fitting if he thinks about it, just a bit over the top.]

Okay, see now I have to ask what a wormhole is. [Because she's not convinced this isn't the grossest space fact ever.] Some kind of space phenomenon?

[Thor does forget that these things aren't universal knowledge, especially out here amongst people who have never been in space before. Bruce had gotten it immediately.]

Yes it is. Wormholes are portals through space, where if you travel through them it's much faster than flying through space itself. They're dangerous though - the forces within can tear most ships apart, and if you don't know where the other side goes you could end up completely lost.

I don't really recommend it, but we were in a hurry.

Oh...huh. [They sound fascinating. If... way too dangerous, but she deals with the smaller scale equivalent of too-dangerous back home all the time.] They occur naturally? Nobody makes them?

I haven't heard of anyone making one like that, but you never know. Stars collapsing on themselves can cause wormholes. There were too many around Sakaar for them all to be caused by that sort of thing.

[One thing she can't begrudge the Fleet about is she's getting one heck of a space education.]

Well, I'm glad you managed to escape, anyway. Sounds like it should be wiped off the map on general principle.

[She's mostly joking; there's probably some decent people there, right? But slavery is a universal thing, it seems.]

It was pretty terrible. But I did help start a revolution on the way out, so I hope they were able to topple the ruler of the place.

[He's not going to go back and check, no. It's still a nice thought, the Grandmaster being kicked off his perch. If only he could have done it himself with his own boot.]

Oh, so the best solution. That's a pretty popular one in my neck of the woods.

No, I really couldn't. I had get back to Asgard as soon as possible.

I don't doubt that. Space... kind of puts into perspective for me how vast a distance can be.
