[The parties may have ended in most of the system, but at least in one corner, as the silver confetti and plastic cups are being swept up, it continues. This time it's not in celebration of the games but something - or someone - a little more personal to some of the members of the fleet. After all, Felix had promised, in a way.

A brief text message will be sent out the fleet]

There will be a celebration this evening in memory of our friend Lumiere, who has since departed the fleet. Regardless of whether you knew him, come enjoy yourself as I'm sure he would have wanted.

[The coordinates that follow lead to a small lounge-like venue near the beach in the Brightbirds territory. The main room is bright and cozy, hosting the featured entertainment for the night, orange-skinned men and women dancers in flowing, feathered, revealing garments who make sinuous circles around the room. Musicians with guitar-like instruments and drums play throughout the night, to accompany the dancers.

On the patio there is a buffet full of small finger foods like skewers of meat and candied fruits and various other decadently simple dishes. The bar is also nearby - though the drinks aren't free, they are available at a discount for the evening.

If you want a little more quiet, the patio leads directly out onto the beach, which is also set with small cushions and tables for you to enjoy your food and drink while you listen to the waves and the distant city lights reflected in the water]

I do like you as much as fried dough! But you can't really expect a man to give up all his favourite foods all at once can you? Isn't that like the road to our stomachs or something like that?

Are you saying that all your favorite foods are donuts? Multiple? Favorites?

No, I'm saying I'm giving up a lot of my favourite foods! Like pasta, and sandwiches, and pancakes, and roast, and pizza bread, and sausage, and lots of other foods! You can't expect me to also give up donuts too! You have to slowly cut back! [He may not also know what he's talking about anymore.]

Yeah? Which girls did you give those up to? [Eyebrow raised.]

Well, I haven't given those things up to just anyone yet. But, I suppose I could for you. [Is this how you flirt when you're NOT trying to have it end in failure? He's oddly had 0 practice at that so far.]

[She reaches across to take his hand and give it a squeeze.] I guess that would be okay.

[As she squeezes he brings their hands up to kiss the back of her hand.] I'm still going to steal all the donuts on the ship. [He says with a grin and a wink.]

Do we have more access to donuts than I thought? Are you making them out of crushed up wheat solids? [She's not exactly inventive with the provided foods. She pretty much eats them straight and tasteless like they come unless someone else is doing the cooking. She does put more work into foods she gathers from various stops, but most of her cooking experience is for survival, not taste.]

[He sighs dramatically in despair.] I tried that and it's just not the same!! Even freezing them for later ruins them!

Not the same, but how is it? [She might be into it. Okay, not the point.] Maybe our next stop will be some kind of donut emporium.

I dunno, a better chef might have been able to do more with it.

Sounds like the breakfast of champions to me. Is it terrible if I tell you that I'm more into eggs and bacon?

No, I think that sounds great. Nothing better than eggs and bacon for breakfast if you can't get donuts. Unless it comes with a pile of pancakes.

Have I ever told you that the bacon kelp is one of my favorite things on our ship?

I always kind of make fun of it, but I'm a fan. Vision did good with that. [She misses him.] He used to make us all breakfast sometimes too. [Of course the most memorable time was have she and Winn has their first "sleepover." Probably best not to think of that.] I love pancakes.

I bet I could make some pretty decent wheat pancakes. [He's now giving this some serious thought.] A big crew breakfast would probably be nice. Keep his idea going. Like a kind of tradition or something.

I would never say no to crew breakfasts. Or any kind of breakfasts. Too bad I gifted the waffle maker to the Tourist.

Maybe I'll look for another one on the next planet we come to. If I start making something actually good with the crap they give us to work with maybe I can try serving it up at the bar eventually.

It's worth a shot. It's a pretty good way to get women. I mean, women who are me anyway.
