Shopping

[Anyone who knows Biffy will know that of course he is going to take advantage of the shopping that is available here. Not only does he need to be shopping for himself but he also needs to be shopping for a certain captain who signed his wardrobe away to him. (Minus pieces of sentimental value naturally.)

That means that he can easily be found in various shops looking through what is available. At times he can be seen with some nicely wrapped packages or with some bags. Never more than a few at a time though. He would never burden himself so utterly with an overflowing load of purchased items. He has far too much pride in his appearance for that obviously.

But this does mean he's quite easy to run into it. Feel free to do so. He's even willing to give recommendations for items for you to purchase.]

Theater

[It's been a little while since he's had the chance to properly go to the theater. This life doesn't appear to really allow for it. A shame really since he's terribly fond of it. He remembers going to plenty of shows years ago when he was but a drone. Supporting the other boys in their artistic endeavors. Even now he smiles fondly at the thought as he stands in the lobby waiting for the show to start.

Everyone knows that you don't go your seat immediately, after all. One must first mingle a little then find your seat just before the curtain rises. That way various fashions can be compared and admired. It's terribly obvious really.

More than likely he's brought someone he knows to the show with him. If not then feel free to run into him. He does love to socialize.]

[Ulaz was silent listening to the story. It sounded like something Galra like Sendak would do. No, Sendak would have done worse than that, though others would have thought about that. Even without the Empire, there were people like that and it was disappointing.

But he could tell now what happened]

So Lyall's Alpha at the time turned you to try and stop the inevitable?

He would have let me die, I think. Not out of hatred or indifference. But because I wasn't his to change or save in that manner. Lyall begged for him to save me though. He couldn't let me die. He begged and begged until finally it happened. I woke up a time later to learn all that had taken place. My former master learned at that time as well. He likely would have started a war over having what was his stolen from him if Queen Victoria hadn't entered the room in that moment.

[He sighs softly.]

I hated what I was for quite awhile. I had little to no control over my abilities as a result. My Alpha didn't know what to do with me either. In that time Lyall was a great comfort to me.

It must have been disappointing for both you and your master when you learned what had happened.

[By trying to save him, it had separated him from the life he had known and the plans that he had had. Of course life just worked out that way. Not like he had planned a lot of the things in his life]

Sounds like Lyall has been good support for you. Even now.

Lyall has been wonderful. I was very disheartened when he had to leave for twenty years. We weren't sure what we were to each other when he came back as a result.

Twenty years? Where did he go for so long?

For reasons that are his to discuss when he is ready, he had duties to attend to with another pack until they could find a Beta of their own. When I became Alpha, he returned to be mine.

Of course. If he wishes to tell me about them, then it is his choice. He did come back, which is good. The Alphas are the leaders of the pack?

They are. A Beta is something like a second-in-command while a Gamma is third.

That's how it works? Then Lyall is the second in command and you are the leader.

[Sounds very similar to how it was on the ship with him and Shiro...]

I know that you did not choose the life you ended up with, but it sounds like you have made the effort into growing that which it has become. It may sound odd, but not everyone has the capacity to do that.

There have been times where I've wondered if I'm suited to it. However, this is my life now and the abilities I have now show that I am meant for this role.

[He smiles a little.]

In truth, I'm grateful to have Lyall at my side. He makes me feel as though I can do this.

Often times we are put in situations that we did not intend for ourselves to be. For you it was becoming a werewolf, becoming the leader of the pack. For all of us, being brought here by the Atroma. It's what we do with those hardships and how we come out of them that is the real test of our character. I have not had the opportunity to see you in a role such as the one you describe the Alpha to be in, but I would trust your judgement if the situation should arise.

[This is high praise coming from Ulaz, having become used to making his own decisions without influence, something he's having to break himself of now. Even Kolivan's decidedly long reach on the Blades' conscious decisions - something Ulaz had learn to ignore - was not the same as having Shiro on the ship giving him a look for having done something without thinking]

But we don't have to walk it alone. You have Lyall and what you have learned from him will eventually be passed to someone else in your own words.

[Hearing that Ulaz would trust him if he had need to step in as an Alpha causes his eyes to widen before his gaze softens. It means the world to him that Ulaz would put faith in him like that without having seen him as a true leader of his pack.]

Thank you.

[He lets out a soft laugh now.]

Honestly I hope I can pass what I've learned in my life to my son as he grows.

[He's proven himself to have sound judgement enough that if push came to shove and Biffy had to be one to make a decision, Ulaz would trust what he had to say]

I'm sure you will. Your life experiences will help him in making decisions in his life.

Mine and those of my pack. They all adore him as much as I do honestly.

That is good. Your son as a strong support group around around him. Knowing there are others who will listen can sometimes do more than advice.

[The look on his face is one of utter fondness as he nods.]

It is considered very acceptable for a pack to raise a child since it means there is always someone around to watch over the child. He will also grow in an environment far more accepting than others might be. I couldn't wish for a better life for him.

[He can see that Biffy is fond of that child. He can read it in his face. Yes, that boy will have a good life]

That is something everyone should have. People around you who are supportive and accepting of you. I hope he realizes he's lucky when there is so much prejudice around him.

[He has seen it. He wishes fighting it was easier]

You never know. He might find it all tiring to have so many around him who can easily find him and know exactly what he's been getting up to.

[There's laughter but only because he's already seen one child raised by a supernatural family. Well, no. That's not true. He's actually seen three raised by supernatural families. And they have been quite eager to spread their wings upon coming of age.

A moment later, he sighs softly.]

Thank you for letting me tell my story. I hadn't realized I really needed to.

I suppose that is also true. There are times when we feel that way, want to push away from what we know. It feels good for a while.

[He's quiet for a moment then says] I know you may not remember it to tell him, but take it from a very old Galra: eventually you think about what you left behind.

You're welcome. Sometimes it is good to talk.

[He took a sip of his tea, which he had been holding for the longest time]

When I first arrived in this place I feared it was another curse I would have to deal with in my life. Now, I think it might actually be something of a blessing since it means I was able to meet someone like you.

[He looks up at Ulaz smiling.]

You're a wonderful friend. Thank you.

I'm glad that you don't think this is curse. I would hope that you are able to enjoy a different life here. I consider you a good friend too.

[It does make him happy to hear that Biffy thought of him not just as a friend, but as a good friend.

Biffy had shared so much with him... maybe it was only right...]

If you don't staying here a little while longer, I could share some with you as well.

[He's surprised at first but then touched. It means a great deal that Ulaz would want to share something with him. So he nods, welcoming him to continue.]

Whatever you are comfortable sharing, of course.

I have not told many about this, but back home, I was actually undercover in the Galra Fleet for many years. I am a member of the Blade of Marmora, a group that is working to take down the Galra Empire which has committed atrocities against so many races. I was gathering information inside the fleet... which was how I came to find Shiro and eventually the other Paladins.

[He nods in understanding.]

Would it be fair to call your role that of a spy?

Yes, I was a spy. I actually was around some of the highest ranking in Fleet so I had to be careful with how I did my job.

[Lowering ranking Galra might dismiss a slip. Haggar, her druids, and others around them would not]
